Pay or not

hiya everyone.
im sorry if im annoying u lot, but im a newbie.
i just wanted to know if i have to pay to join a guild, i wanted to join one and the guy told me to pay 50g. Was the guy lying?

No you normally dont have to pay to join a guild. Most of the time they are willing to pay the 100 gold to invite you. But maybe he wanted to let you pay 1/2 of that price.

No you don't. IMO anyone who charges you to join their guild...not worth it. Find out why. Now they may be trying to fund the guild. It's pricey to start one up. So I can see why some people do charge. I personally just don't like it. However, 50gold...that really isn't very much, One good run on a quest can easily net you that much in gold drops and items to sell. Again this is just my opinion. As far as it being a MUST to pay...no. All guilds run their guilds differently.

If the guild can't spare 100g to invite you in, I don't think they are a very good guild.

Meh, I wouldn't pay. If a guild really wants members, a nice guild would happily pay the whole 100 gold for you. Either that, or he's a black-hearted scammer who is gonna take your 50 gold and leave. :O Don't worry though, scammers will burn in hell when Gwen has her Vengeance. *rezzes me for 30 seconds* MWAHAHAHA, TIME TO DIEEEE!!!

You got to be kidding. The cost of creating a guild is quite high to begin with, so the small cost to invite someone ( 100gp) is nothing. Being in a guild over time is something that will beifit both the guild as well as the member, so having you in the guild should be a benifit. I have never charged someone to join, and I don't believe any credible guild would either.

50g is nothing, 1/2 a griffon.

If it is a guild of people that you get along with and like playing with then i'd say 50g is more than worth it.

omg don't pay! a good leader would be happy to pay the price for quality guild members. charging 50gp for guild invitations is a sign of poor leadership imo. poor leadership = awful guild.
