New Rune of Energy Regen

I noticed there isn't a rune that enhances this attribute. I can get energy regen enhancements off my armor, weaps and artifacts but there isn't an equivalent rune (like there is for Energy Storage)

What does everyone think of this:

Minor Energy Rune of Regeneration +1 no penalty
Major Energy Rune of Regeneration + 2 - 50 health
Superior Energy Rune of Regeneration + 3 - 75 health

I run mostly energy consuming characters like eles or necros and would like to see faster energy regen.

good Idea, for Sure i Would get a Major one one My MM and Maybe even a Superior one for my Mesmer.

Just curious, which weapons/offhands help with energy regen? Or are you just speaking about + amount to energy?

I sure would like the regen from the runes.

However, I believe that the benefits of the Superior far outweigh its drawbacks. As it is now, it is actually a tough decision to make, whether to trade the health for the + to attribute.

Say goodbye to adrenaline skills... warriors would even move toward energy-based. Most of their skills only cost 5 energy to begin with. With +3 regen, fill up your bars, kids, it's never-ending.

I guess I'm saying I love the idea, but it would really change a lot about the game; probably a lot of unforeseen consequences.

Woah woah woah there. This is unbalanced to a point where it's funny. Energy regen is very hard to come by (seeing as Monks use it to maintain enchantments) and doing this is just asking for trouble, as it means spellcaster scan spam more than ever (7 pips of regen?) , and monks can maintain 7 enchantments for simple zero degen. BiP and such would be near useless, since it just adds three pips.

ul have to tone it down mabe make only 2 runes a rune of lesser and a rune of greater regeneration make lesser have a -100 health penalty and greater a -200 lesser is 1 more regen greater is 2 even then itd still be really powerful and id expect them both to be very very costly

Think of Blood Ritual or Melandru's Resilience in DDF. Think of how ridiculous it would be to have an energy regen that high. You'd never, ever run out. You'd actually be able to maintain your energy with Spirit Shackles on you, and a Blood Ritual on top of a +7 energy regen.. well.. you get the idea.

bunny's, that wont work. if you have major health down's, a solo monk could pwn. he could like....bring his health down to 20. thats almost as ridiculous, sorry, as being able to put major runes on your weapon and sheild.

Speaking of solo monks, imagine how easy it would be for them with +3 energy regen. Who cares about the mana penalty to Protective Bond when you have that much energy rolling in?

Consider this. Peace and Harmony is an Elite skill (not a very good one, but regardless...) that grants you 1 pip of energy regen for a period of time. The fact that I could attain better results than an elite enchantment for any class for some gold at the rune trader... no, far too powerful.

Energy management is a trait that you develop over time, and it should remain that way.

that rune d be nice cauz there is only the energy storage one, and one for hps but none for mps

A minor, major, superior rune of energy at +2, +5, +8 would be fine with me.

No. There is practically nothing that could justify extra regen.

Well, having + energy regeneration would be absolutely UNFAIR. As mentioned above me, characters can now hoist massive amount of enchantments. Yes, Desecrate enchantment would work great, but in just random 4-4 Arena's..good luck getting the right build in your group.

Monks..they complain about lack of energy management sometimes. Now with the addition of these runes, they can heal for god who knows how long.

Overall, the thought behind this idea wasn't too bad, but knowing the abusive nature of the average GW player, this can quickly lead to an unbalancing of..everything.

I can see it already, a W/Mo running into battle with 5 enchantments on, tanking the crap out of everything o.O

Are you serious.. That would be so insaneley broken. Even if the loss was like 150 Hp, a prot monk could just use a Vital Blessing on them and get a free +2 Energy Regen at +3. Imagine if it was +8. Wow, 10 Energy regen Booning monks. That would be sooo broken..

How about mending runes that give you permament health regen? It would have to be carefully balanced though, like for example that it would cost double what a rune costs now in hp. +3 health regen would cost 150 health for example.

Gee, wouldn't the 55 monks dig that - sacrifice health for regen....

Does any of the other classes get energy regen from thier armor like the ele does? I get + 1 Energy Regen from my boots and leggings give me a total of +2 regen and +5 on the shirt and gloves for energy.
