Can you tell me where you got the skins for XP? I have been looking around for some because I dont like silver, blue, or green, but I cannot find any safe sites to get them from.

Style XP
Install that, and to remove the 30-Day trial, go on "Help", then Register Software, then it'll say your Hardware ID and a Serial Number, PM me your Hardware ID and I'll get your Serial Number for you with my KeyGen, xD.
Get extra themes for it from:

Also try http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ for windowblinds.

I'm not sure if you can make your own (I think you can...), but I know it's needed to apply many custom user-made skins. I'm a huge Myst fan, and someone had made this great skin for it...that's the only time I had used windowblinds, but check it out.

I use to use WindowsBlind, I loved the themes for it, but, the annoying message that came up all the time saying "Continue" or "Buy" everytime I logged in my PC and it kept coming randomly in the middle of a game filling the middle sector of my screen and wouldn't close till after it count down from 5 seconds got frustrating...
Don't think you can crack/serial key it?

The mods/admins will most likely eat us for discussing the warezing/cracking/pirating of software, so I don't know - no comment in response to that question.
Ultimate Warrior
Yeah, I dont want to have to crack anything either. I just want something good that is free/ cheap.
Eldin
Either google for other programs or sit patiently until a few years later when WindowBlinds becomes abandonware.
Josh
You want a freeware program with Windows XP themes that look good? See you in 2010 then o_O lol.
Ultimate Warrior
Well I dont mind cracking a program, I just want the easiest options first.

go to www.neowin.net and download uxtheme patcher. It replaces the themes.dll with a new one (you can also roll back to the old one if necessary). It is free and then allows you to install third party skins. I have been using this for 1-1.5 years now with no problems. Change my skin along with my desktop once a month. You can download form anywhere to install skins including the ThemeXP site, but be careful with those as they are usually zipped into and exe that contain adware. Check deviantart.com for xp skins.

Can anyone point me at an unsigned XP GW skin that they've come across? I'm happy to search, but if anyone wants to point me in the right direction and show me one they found in their travels, I'd be pretty happy.
Ultimate Warrior
Well, I downloaded Stlye XP once again, hopefully this time it wont mess up.

The only problem I had with StyleXP when I used it was that it took a lot longer for Windows to finish loading all its crap on boot-up. It worked great, just made things a little sluggish. *shrugs*

Should go with uxtheme patcher. Changes one dll and doesn't slow down system load times.

actually windows blinds 5 owns.. turn on hyperpaint full and shut down the windows xp theme service- it runs a smaller svhost and the themes out are pretty sick
