PvP and PvE Armor

im a lili bit confused about the armors of character in pvp n pve..can players bring there armor in pvp?i mean when u got a nice armor in pve does it affect ur pvp character?i saw a Warrior/monk which is unstoppable...but err i forgot her name...plz i want information thanks
