Comes in phases. Sometimes it's slow forum of doom, sometimes it's mass 404s, sometimes nothing's wrong.

Nice to hear that it was L2guru there was the target. I used to play L2, and for some of those players adena(name of money in Lineag 2) is more importent than life itself. Proberly some poor guy who lost one of his things(you can drop your armor when you die in L2)

Or is the site under maintenence? This is why I asked for a schedule of the maintenence so we as posters can realize what is going on.

I can't use the auction page at all right now. It loads as far down as the banner ad, but that's it. These forums are crawling too. Between this mess and GuildWiki being down for a while, it's hard to find a decent GW website that works :/

Hey that's the price you pay with a popular site. We have had 3 DDOS attacks today. This isn't fun for us either. We are having problems and are on top of this every single day, for hours a day. We share more frustration than you can possibly imagine trying to keep this free site running for a community. For anyone who has actually managed and run a large site, they will know the frustration. For those who have no clue, who take for granted all the work that we do behind the scenes and then lay down insults and complaints... I don't see those complaining sending me content, offering to help, or contributing to this site. So am I a little pissed off right now that our server is being attacked and people can only complain that the site is slow? Yes.

DDOS attacks such as this are always the work of children. It's trivial to set up and execute with basic knowledge, and only kids thinks it's cool.

no dos attacks today, something else on the server causing load, I'm trying to figure it out, its tough with the holiday season, lots of people are off or busy, I hope you all understand and bear with us, next year will be an even better year so we're going into high gear and getting GWGuru its own server, just as powerful as the one right now:

I'm still getting long delays and "not found" IE error pages, are those attacks still continuing? I also had a couple of database error messages very recently (not IE but mySQL or whatever it is that's used here I forget)

erm... could someone explain to me what a DDOS attack actually is? I heard somewhere that it's when a computer sends loads of requests to the server, but I'm not sure about the details or anything.

The mySQL error was just a few minutes before I made the post in this thread, it gave some error message and said it was going to send an email to the admins (standard message I presume)
I got another IE error/"not found, dns error" type of thing just a minute or so ago while editing the supertank thread I added in the Nolani section. It seems to come and go (appears to be fine again as I type)
