Obsidian Flesh protects against spells, AoB doesn't.

You can change your profession in Great Temple of Balthazar as long as you are ascended, then there is no need to get command post that far.

You don't need that much in earth, I run it as Mo/E and have no problem with only 12 in earth.

A much bigger problem with the changes is that rend enchantments now casts in 1 second.
