take healing area (as the only healing spell) with you and dont use it ... the mirror will probably cast it and heal your friend with him... and...

it depends how many are there around, you should check out the dye merchant Your Price should be lower as the dye merchant ones more i cant tell...

if i remember correctly (i am not that far) you should go only without skills / or skills with long casting time and no real effect on you/enemy....

no there are no fees with this game. Later there will be an expansion pack but you dont need to buy that.
