So they reprinted the collectors edition, SO WHAT
Doomslay
Look here is the crux of the problem, I have already purchased all of the upgrade-expansions I need for my accounts, and now ArenaNet wants me to spend another 60 bucks to get the collectors stuff? I don't think so! I already posted what they should do, give us the collectors stuff as an upgrade to the standard accounts we already have for the difference in the price. ($10) I think that is more than fair.

Personally I was glad they made more copies. I was unable to purchase a copy in the first batch, but was able to buy it in the second. I think that it has less to do with getting more money out of us, and more to do with letting more people buy the collector's edition that actually wanted it. As some will recall, they admitted that they didn't make enough copies the first time, and there were distribution problems with those that they did make.
So, I see it as a good thing..

I really dont understand why Anyone would be against my suggestion afterall I am sure that just like me there are many people out there that simply gave up looking for the CE and just bought the standard Factions, My suggestion is to keep selling the reprint for new players that want CE and an upgrade kit ofr people That gave up waiting for the original.
All I can hope is that someone from Anet reads this, smacks their head and says Why did'nt we think of that!!!

the CE is a special package deal in a limited edition.
being able to add pieces of it at any time defeats that purpose of having something special.
/no way
BTW Anet has seen it and said no way as well

I hope they never provide what the OP is asking for. I waited for my CE to come, and a collector's edition is not a $10.00 add on you get after the fact 2 months later.
If you really want the stuff in the collector's edition, then shell out the money to purchase it. If you chose to buy the standard edition and don't wish to spend any more money, wait for Chapter 3's collector edition.

Sad but true story:
So I pre ordered at EB games my CE way back in February. I have two accounts so I ordered a CE and a normal copy. I get a call from EB saying my order came in. I show up and they don't have my CE. SO I am WTF where is it? other places has it. I ordered it the day it became available for order. They say they won't have it for a week and all EB's have delayed shipping on it because of their distributor NCSoft. So I throw a fit and they say: "Well here is a normal copy and we will give you your CE when it comes in." So I say OK I had already paid for CE and the normal copy. A week later I go back and they want to charge me for my CE version that I preordered. NOT telling me they charged me for my second normal copy.
NOW... whose fault was this? NOT ANET’s
Either way I the customer will have to pay for my CE if I want it.
I the customer am now screwed, and I did pay for my CE again. Turns out I was forced to pay for 2 normal copies and one CE. This of course would have been resolved had thier been enough supply for the demand.
I don't blame ANET for supply I blame NCSoft. Because of this I will never purchase another NCSoft title with the exception of GW. I will also never purchase from EB again.
ANET makes a great game and is not responsible for the ****ups of NCSoft or EB. Also when Nightfall GW 3 does arrive I believe ANET will have learned from NCSoft’s mistakes and adjust for the worst.
ANET is a good company and I hate to see them screwed by their distributor. BUT this is not the first time a distributor has screwed a game company.
Can you say Half Life 2?

I'd like to see a reprint of the prophecies CE. I didn't get into GW until well after all copies were long gone.

No I did not.. It was a very bad experience and I’m usually up for supporting my local game shop. The pisser was the Target across the street had a CE box on shelf not preordered sent to them on time and my money was locked into EB already. It would be nice to order direct from ANET and bypass NCSoft altogether.

To Those of you that say no way to an add on. I ask Why Are you elitest or something. Let me get this straight just cause you suffered a long time not playing till you got your CE no one who did not can't have it with out Paying The $50 for the standard + $60 for the CE for one account. I mean really is that fair ????
Gorebrex
I dont agree with having to pay full price, if all you need is a small prtion of whats in full CE. If you go get an air conditioning system installed in your car, do you have to buy a whole new car? No, you just pay for the system/installation. They shouldve made an upgrade version, but with ANet probably only making profit on the 2nd 1 million units sold, they must really need the money by selling it as full version only. Does that mean Chapter 3 isnt expected to go over well? Sure sounds that way.

the CE is a special package and if those too impatient to wait for the special in game items want to pay a small upgrade charge for them forget it.
we waited so could you..
DIVINE AURA SKIP THE ARTBOOK/HEADPHONES FOR 5 BUCKS,would i add that to my second account? IN A HEARTBEAT I WOULD.
it is special you missed it and thats it.
try to preorder chapter 3 CE as i will (depending on what is offered as the chapter 3 divine aura/backup dancers equivalent)

Yes, really sorry, but I don't think we'll be offering the "special ingredients" of the Collector's Edition on an a la carte basis. It really is a package deal, in every sense of the word.
I think it would be nice to have a lot of options, though, so that if I want to get such-and-such and someone else doesn't really care about that, I can get it and he can give it a pass. For instance, I want more characters slots; others are prefectly content with the standard number. I don't mind paying a nominal feel for the slot, and the guy who doesn't need it is ok with not paying, too. I'd like to see those options increase, to be honest, but I don't think that special options like the Divine Aura and the Backup Dancers will be forthcoming without a purchase of the full CE. I will be happy to ask about that for future reference, though.

Thus, defeating the purpose of having a "collectors edition" altogether.
Only reason I didn't go for the collectors package is because the emotes were class specific to the Asn/Rit... nevermind. So, as with all things, I had a choice, and a chose the standard.
At least there was an option of having a collectors.

Normally I would agree with you Gaile but seeing as how NC -Soft screwed up your distribution of CE packages I would think that you would be more open to trying to set things right.
I mean after all I would have bought 3 of the CEs if they had Been available but I wasn't given that choice. And since I would not have been able to play any of the cantha missions till these CE reprints came out ( Had I waited like a good little fanboy thus missing all those neat events )
I cant see where you would feel like I have to pay and then pay again. I love the game but to have to pay twice for the same account just to get a dragon pet and backup dancers seems a bit steep.
BTW I do have the CE for the Original , Well maybe Im just banging my Head against the wall but your response was a Huge disappointment.

The biggest part of the collector's edition isn't the divine aura of the backup dancers--it's the stuff that comes in the box.
Buy the box or don't get the goodies.

I don't think that is asking too much. In fact I think it would only be fair anytime one of us purchases an account key for full price that there should be an option to merge it with a 2 character slot addition. You (Arena Net) would still definitely be making more money than an individual slot purchase plus the player would actually have an incentive to purchase the CE or whatever version is out there.

Yes, its special, but I didnt really miss it, because I didnt even know about it till I heard it mentioned on forums.
Preorder? Hell no. I never preorder anything, Ill let people like you, who "have to have it" deal with any bugs, exploits, ect. Ill wait for some fixes, and the price will drop some too, most likely. The only CE that I have is CoD2, and only got that because I asked for CoD2, and the person who bought it is rather computer illiterate, and might notve know there was a difference. BTW, I wouldnt have cared if it was regular game, as I dont see anything really worth the extra money to me.

as to *has to have it* and also that i decided that the wait while missing anything happening during the wait was worth it.
if i truly had to have it now i would have bought the regular then the CE when it came out.
a small difference but i think significant in this case.
i am/was willing to wait the OP wasnt

Oh, my dear Lord! I think we mightve just agreed on something! /looks Is that Jesus? LOL! I realized you would wait, and its actually good for those who have waited until now, as theyll be able to buy the CE Right off the bat, and some players who dont have it might go and buy it.

Well as I was afraid of Anet sent in Gaile to say her piece and then sweep this subject under the carpet. Why am I not supprized. Well one thing is for sure I and many others like me are not likely to shell out another $60 just so we can get the rather meager extras contained in the CE. and to be honest I have yet to see one in my area.
The real shame of it is that they were falling all overthemselves appologizing for the issue, and instead of offering a reasonable alternitive they basicly say sorry we messed up, but here if you want the extras just pay for the expansion again.
This is one of the many reasons I don't see this game going past the third or fourth installment. sad sad sad

I say no to an add-on, after the fact upgrade. This is coming from a player who hasn't purchased any Special Editions, CE, Pre-Order whatever. Just stock game pack from the store.
I say no because I've never seen a company do that. Site an example of such and I might re-consider.
Does Anet want you to shell out extra for CE? Yup. Would they complain if you had to purchase 2 seperate games to get this added content? Nope. This is business. You want the bling, drop some cheddah.

As I have posted before. Normally I would agree with you but NC soft Fd up the distribution of the game, I am happy that some Quote"got it the day it came out" but in my area I havent even seen the reprint.
In other words this is a special case, there were many people out there like me that given the chance to buy the CE would Have gladly forked over the buckos for it. But I gave up and gave in so I could play the expansion.
the reasonible thing for anet to do would be to give people left out the first time a upgrade. all they have to do is look at the key and its activation time to verify that I bought the standard edition within a week of the expansions release.
The only reason I can see for other players saying no! never! no way! is Elitism maybe Im wrong maybe your undercover A-net employees (just joking)
Caleb
I really enjoy the soundtrack from my CE. I would recommend everyone buy it just for the music!

Good Lord, Doomslay. You make it sounded like the world has ended because you didn't get a pet minidragon (which you can buy, if you're *that* desperate... or maybe you just wanted to sell. Pft), backup dancers (look at me, I'm cool) and a glowy aura when you emote (look at me, I'm glowy-ubercool).
Big deal. Granted, all those things look spiffy, but that's all. Get over it already.
Maybe you can get a CE for the next expansion, if you haven't /ragequit. I haven't managed to get one myself yet. Both were out of stock, so I got the original editions because I was impatient to play. Like you, I'm not paying 'a second time' for the CE. But I'm not going to throw a hissy fit over missing out on some flashy ingame animations, some posters and a book of art (even though they are nice, and had they been available at the time I *would* have happily paid for them).
So maybe next time.
Get over it and get on with the game.
