Why must ANET always change the rules of the game?

balancing skills is understandable but dint touch the armor

I think we should all be invincible and have unlimited cash, of course we would all be happy then.
Boo hoo hoo.

Did they really have to touch the Nolani Wand? Was it that imbalance?

Players prefer to call it a "strategy" when they share information on how to milk something that isn't working quite right for all it's worth.
Though on the other side of the coin, players who constantly lose to a strategy prefer to say people are exploiting it and cheating.
If other players is your primary source of information, of course you're going to get misinformation and knee-jerk hyperbole.

I tried DS and DSII after that but soon lost interest. GW has been a nice compromise of the RPG games I have enjoyed and since I don't do PvP I guess the nerf's have not effected me much (though I've only been playing a month or so). I do the quests and missions for the three chatracters I have (none above a lvl 17) and no runs to anywhere. That's the only way I know to learn the character and what spells to use.
I would like to see random spawning of monsters when an explorable area is entered. The game is too static when everything is in the same place each time an explorable area is entered. Even LoD had that feature in one of their later patches.

One piece of armor getting a global effect as opposed to a full set. Every other armor in the game except for a couple of sets are local, so using common sense, it's easy to realize it wasnt intended or an oversight. No need to read the forums for that.
And of course people dont talk about it as much being a bug. They dont want it getting nerfed. Look at the uproar now and you'd see how hard people want to cling onto this advantage.

Eet, if you really read the discussion, you might have noticed that most people do not make any "uproar" about fixing the armor. It was a very well known issue for many months, and frankly, everyone expected it to be fixed, sooner or later. (Although it had existed for so many months that it de facto became a feature). For many people, this change is painful, because they invested many hours, money and effort into getting the best armour they could afford. But the reasons for this change are understandable.
What you cannot or just not willing to understand, that "fixing" damage reduction on absorption runes and shields was absolutely uncalled for -- there was NOTHING buggy about using them from the very beginning. That's the MAIN cause of all "uproar", as you choose to call it. There was absolutely no reason to "fix" these items.

So tell me again what I dont understand. If there were no uproar about the armor changes then what exactly are all the posts talking about it?

I'm speaking of course on all the nerfing that goes on, after elements of the game and the economy have revolved around these elements for months. Anet: If you put it in the game, leave it there. We need to have some confidence in how the GW world works. Just my 1.5 cents. |
