Poll: Who's Quitting or Considering Quitting?

snagging r9, 100%/100%, 25/25 & 13/13, getting 2nd tier gladiator title, + 1st tier friend of kurzicks title and then I'm done for at least 3-4 months.
Or, done when i go to new york, either way, dont care.

considering leaving, factions wasnt overly impressive so they really need to have somethig intriguing in next expansion
Pandora's box
Taking breaks at decreasing intervals of time (more often every month). Not sure if it will lead to a quit or stay.
Possible reasons to quit:
-Game becomming too much a community game where socializing is rewarded and soloing is penalized.
-Game becomming too much an elite game where you cant join parties without name or fame.
Possible reasons to continue:
-New chapter as big as chapter 1 with a non linear story, freedom to go everywhere without the need to do missions or joining parties.
-A change of policy where nerfing is replaced by buffing.

Got Prophecies at release and played solidly for awhile, had a break and then got Factions. I've been playing solidly since.
Am I the only person that likes the Factions content?
There is still way to much for me to do to even consider leaving.

since youre keeping track of the votes, may as well add 2 more "considering leaving" votes for my other 2 accounts. i may be only one person, but i guarantee ANET values their units in "purchased accounts" and not "per person."
obviously, polls such as these reflect a very small percentage of the people who play the game. however, i think its important to realize that fan site posters are generally the more "serious" players and often know more about the game than the average player.
i used to manage a restaurnant so take this for example: if 2 groups walk in at the same time, one is a repeatedly low tipping family while the other is a known "strong tipper," who do you think gets the better service from the server?
im not saying that as posters here or owners of multiple accounts that we deserve "better service" from ANET, but what i am getting at is that if there is an issue that has upset a good number of the more serious players, it is an issue that needs to be addressed (or in the very least, explained).

I also love the Factions content, it's not as big as the original, but that was kinda the point. If you READ into it, they made it smaller to keep people in the original, so it's not a ghost town if you wanted to go back.
All things considered... 9/10 for the game recently. Love it. Couldn't ask for more from a NON-SUBCRIPTION quasi-MMO. Staying.
Acting like a petulant child about game updates and balancing changes never got anyone anywhere. It happens every time, a-lah the MM nerf (needed). Roll with the punches kids...
It's ALL GOOD. (WAYYY too many warriors anyways).

I'm trying to get a couple of 15k sets and titles.. but if anyone would like to speed up the process, I'll gladly take donations for the "Buy my characters 15k armor" Charity, especially because I currently only have 20k. Open to everyone, especially those who are considering leaving the game.

Opinions aren't censored on these boards. Opinions expressed in such a way that is conducive to starting flame wars are.
There have been numerous posts in this thread that include an opinion either way about the game, with an explanation of why the poster feels that way, that haven't resorted to insulting other posters. That's fine.
The posts that called dissenters idiots, on the other hand, are gone.
Why this thread and not others? Not all posts are able to be reviewed by moderators. The topic of this one is an instant, "keep a close eye on me" flag.
Hope that clarifies things.

Definitely staying.
Been around since E3 for Everyone. I've probably played more in the last 2 weeks than I have in the previous 2 months (RL responsibilities are a pain)...Dragon Festival sucked me back in and I've been playing GW:F content exclusively ever since. Heck, even all my Tyria chars are running around Cantha right now.
Actually, I'll be playing less in the next few weeks, but not because I don't want to...more RL reponsibilities I need to take care of...
Buying Chapter 3 at release. Of course.

Cottage Pie
I quit months ago, just swinging by to see how the games shaping up.
my reasons?
In game community seemed to shrink and noobs appeared everywhere, scamming (by said noobs), the 'economy' - way too regulated & way too easy to get rich,
But PvP really broke the donkeys back, far too organised, too limited, dominated by builds, etc...i found it impossible to have a really 'good' time, you knew if you were dead or not so quickly in fights, that most of the fight was just dying or winning. I loved the 12 V 12 randomness, but that went, so i never got factions...and that's it realy. hello, i suppose.
Whilst i played guild wars I did enjoy it however, i guess i knew when i was playing for...less than healthy reasons. :P
all the above is my opinion and not up for debate/flaming etc.
I'm currently waiting for the age of conan to be entered into public beta

Quitting. The game is already dying due to a majority of NCSoft/ANet's nerfs and other methods for screwing the game up. They took the fun out of the game.

wrong place to ask this question. those that want to stay must be reading this. those that are considering quiting is not reading the forum, as well as those already quited

So, the fun in the game was having infinate minions and warriors absorbing elemental damage with certain types of armor and shields? Geez, talk about dramatics. I feel like I'm in a cheesy episode of days of our lives... some, get this community a box of tissues.

Anyway, I don't think anybody mentioned this (but then again I read the first five posts and skipped to the last two...) but YOU CAN'T QUIT GUILD WARS.
Yep, can't quit.
Your account still exists. You can uninstall, but if you felt the urge a week, a month, a year from now, you can download the client, put in your password, and continue like it was yesterday. Plus, ANet has your money, and since there's no fee, an account with five minutes logged yearly profits them just as much as one that counts fifty thousand.
And if you're "quitting" because it isn't "fun" anymore, I really have to ask you:
What was it that made it fun?

I may take a break every now and again, but that's just healthy gaming. I can't get too wrapped up in one game for too long, because I tend to go crazy if one game occupies me every single day.
In the down-time of not playing GW, I tend to jump into Jade Empire or Far Cry, so everything works out. ^_^

Definately not online so much anymore, due the fact that after 'progressing' all characters through everything and getting titles, there isn't things left to do.

I thought it'd be nice to clear some things up about the orgin of this poll. It's got nothing to do with the 7/13 update at all, it started when after thinking long and hard about how factions and it's world compared to tyria and didn't measure up at all to it's originality that I questioned why I kept playing. I no longer feel that urge to play like I used to. This used to be my religion, but now I'm no longer hooked and left to float like a free fishy. Whee. Nothing really lasts forever no matter how much you hope I believe. People are waiting out on chapter 3, and what happens when they do get it and it is a flop? Of course they're not going to not play a game they paid $60.00 for, they're going to play through it and after they feel like they've already dedicated time and money into they might aswell wait for chapter 4. I'm just ending the cycle now before it gets worse... That's me anyway, everyone's different, and this is the true story of the orgin of this poll started. Hooray. True story.

only really online these days for trading and even that scene has deteriorated with factions.

I'm just dedicating my time to forum lurking now =/ I like to watch people whine at stupid things. Makes me feel better about myself.
And to tell you the truth, the 7/13 update isn't too drastic of a change. More damage taken? Well, that's just helping you adjust your tactics to play smarter.
I can still remember the AoE and griffon nerfs. Those were truely the most drastic changes in my opinion (PvE wise). Farming was definitely a fun point in a lot of player's gaming experience. Farming gold is like hitting high score in tetris. It's repetitive, but you get a higher score each time. When AoE got nerfed, it actually took some players a while to adapt to using only Shield of Judgment in their builds for damage instead of SoJ, Zealot's and Balthazaar's. I'm sure some people left the game because they couldn't get the hang of casting less frequently. When the griffons got toasted, many, many people left the game because of the high score theory. They can't get a high score easily, so they go to a different game to achieve their "high score".
When compared to those two updates, I honestly don't believe that the 7/13 update was as damaging to the fan base of the game. Yes, armor is messed up for warriors, but it can easily be dealt with by using one skill slot for added defence. Quiting because of this one update is very..dumb?
It is a shame that the people who will quit the game because of boredom issues soon have to leave at a low point in this game. Factions really wasn't as great as it got hyped up to be, and never amounted to be as fun to everyone who had played Prophecies. I used to play this game for 8 hours a day because it was so fun, and I had so much to do in Tyria, but in Factions, after I got my character through once, I couldn't stand to play more than a hour each day. And I don't even play every day any more. More like three days a week.
I had to think about all the things that were terminated with this new expansion:
-Farming is more or less dead with more selective masses, which can be nice at times for variety. Too bad there isn't as much simplicity as such monsters like minotaurs, trolls, and griffon groups.
-Running. I don't do it, but many, many players do run. This allowed players to skip dreaded parts of the game they didn't want to do.
-Skills. Yes, more gold was given out, but it just isn't enough to purchase all the skills you want. Sure, it's possible, but it lacks the good feeling that you get when you earn a skill.
-Exploration. Tyria is bigger and better than Cantha. There.
There are more things that are missing from this game that made Propecies such a lovely game, and the new features aren't enough to keep all the old players happy.
Hopefully there will be still great things to come in this game, best of luck of those who will be sticking around in this game.

im staying. eles got nerfed way harder in previous updates than the warriors did in this one and ya know what.. i adapted my build and strategies and im a much much better ele than i was before.
hopefully this update will persuade warriors to think about their builds and come up with their own instead of using cookie cutters from forums

I think a more relevent poll might be about the future purchase of Chapter 3
e.g. Your anticipation of it
- 100% eager and happy looking forward to it
- might buy it, got my doubts though
- you gotta be kidding me...
Maybe with a few more choices in between. End of the day it's the sales that'll bite where it hurts. I'm not happy with the direction Anet are taking about some things e.g. deliberately limiting and restricting things, retroactively as well. Seemingly promising one thing and delivering another. Adding new stuff.... but then having some catch to it, no matter how small or unneccessary.
I'm no longer looking forward to Chapter 3 as much as I was looking forward to Factions after Prophecies that's for sure, and whatever comes in future it'll be a case of "what's the catch?"
