I'll try them.. But I won't make them. Why? I'm going strictly core professions. Just deleted my Assassin with a perfect weapon and black 15k armor. I've realized that professions are Chapter specific. Thus Ritualists and Assassins won't be given anything new in the upcoming chapters, which is a huge dissapointment to me. Only the core professions move on through each Chapter. So whats the point of wasting a whole character slot on a profession I use mostly for PvP anyways..

If they're as good as their description makes them out to be:

Neither. They're both lame, pointless jobs.

I'll end up playing the Paragon first, they sound like a good support class with range attacks and shouts. But I just got to test them out first and see how they'll work, including the Dervish.

Neither. I am also, tired of classes being created that won't advance into new chapters. Why even buy a new chapter if I can't take, my ritualist for example, into new skills, armors, etc. I wasted two character slots on rit and assassin, I won't be wasting two more on either of these characters, which by the sounds of it... sound like lame ass support monkeys.

I'm gong to try them both. I think though that the Paragon will be more to my liking as I preferentially play support/buffer anyway.

dervish o.o all the way! I want a scythe =) I hope they look cool

I am guessing on what the attributes for the dervish will be....

Scythe mastery
Agility (it said that the class will use its agility to dodge attacks as a support fighter)
Healing (said it will have self-healing skills)
And this one will be whatever its primary class attribute will be. i have NO CLUE what it could be right now... maybe it's agility... maybe its like... "Each point in agility gives you a +1% chance to dodge any attack and to avoid damage) or something like that o.o just a guess.

I'll be trying the Dervish, I liked the idea of a new melee class in factions, but the Sins were so dissapointing, those hooded guys seem interesting enough for me to try them. The Paragon...well maybe I'll try it as well, Im hoping they get an armor that doesnt look like ele's so much, well I know the dervish look like Rits, but hey! they are hooded, carry a scythe and can turn into a God.

thanx m8. i will go for the Dervish, a scythe-wielding holy warrior.
question what is a scythe?

July 18, 2006 (BELLEVUE, WA) — ArenaNet®, developer of the world's leading subscription-free online roleplaying games Guild Wars® and Guild Wars FactionsTM, and NCsoft® Corporation, the world's leading developer and publisher of online computer games, announce today the title of the next game in the award-winning franchise, Guild Wars NightfallTM. Further, Guild Wars Nightfall has entered the beta testing stage and Guild Wars players worldwide are invited to participate in an exclusive, first-look player-versus-player (PVP) event, July 28 — 30, 2006.

During the PVP Preview Event, both Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions® players will get a first look at Guild Wars Nightfall, and will be able to try out the two new professions being introduced in the game; the Dervish, a scythe-wielding holy warrior, and the Paragon, guardian angel of the Elonian people. In addition to testing out the new professions and arenas, players will also be able to compete for items that will be exchangeable for a variety of rewards throughout the weekend event.

The Guild Wars Nightfall PVP Preview event will kick off on Friday, July 28 at 12:01am PDT and will continue through Sunday, July 30 at 11:59pm PST.

Guild Wars, an instant bestseller worldwide upon its release in April 2005, and Guild Wars Factions, the number one game in both North America and Europe earlier this year, are global online roleplaying games. Guild Wars Nightfall will continue the tradition of inviting players to immerse themselves in an epic storyline centered in a vibrant fantasy setting, build personalized characters, compete in head-to-head battles with players from around the world, and find adventure in missions and quests, in a Guild Wars game unlike any players have seen before.

What is the point of playing classes that are going to get outdated as the game progresses on?

When I play a character, I will commit myself to see that it will get upgrades or whatsoever to stay competitive in the game. In other words, I want my character to grow and improve.

All these new classes are pretty much going to get stagnant afterwards while the core classes continue to expand in their scope of skills and armor choices.

Paragon sounds like the class I wanted all along. I like being mass support characters and Paragon sounds like my dreams come true. I wanted necro to be that, but necro failed in that respect. I wanted ritualist to be that, but spirits are so boring.

BTW male paragon looks so cool in that armor.

I'm only very intrested in the new Monk armor, but I'll try both classes during the weekend event, because at least they both look great. I don't like the Factions professions at all, I hope these will be alot better.
