Is it just my Guild? We are from all over the planet. All of us have been getting lag so bad the past few weeks the game is almost unplayable!

WTF ANET? We had a "Server Upgrade" a while back and I am wondering if that was to reduce the number of nodes on the farm? WHAT A JOKE!!! HELLO....EARTH TO ANET...COME IN ANET!!! We have all done extensive ping and tracert tests and its NOT our ISP's!!!

I wont even start to comment on other "issues" related to updates of late but it seems obvious SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG!!

Please post if you have been having this issue as well. Heck, post if you have not been having it! (If you have played a reasonable amount in the past two weeks that is.) Maybe we can get a "wake up call" through as I know ANET/NCSOFT trolls these forums.

Mine's always been like this. A bit of lag, but not too much.

I don't know why it seems that everyone in your guild is lagging, but I doubt that your guild is the focal point of all the latency problems =/

the only explanation i can find in ANET's favor is that they are preparing the servers for the beta testing of C3

I think tonight was the laggiest ive been in a while, enough to error7 tonight, but i was in a very crowded district.

On the most part, lag isnt much of an issue for me, but tonights AB was unquestionably laggy.

I think its the PvP double points weekend. More users maybe?

On a side note, I wonder how many WoW players post on forums while queing to log in?

Usually my connection with Anet is rock solid but tonight it is terrible and I keep getting dropped by the server.

I'm getting the same problem. My entire 6 man team just got booted out of zen daijun. There is something fishy going on with the servers.... me thinks the server isn't liking the taste of dervish.

I'm having the same problems. Usually I have no trouble with lag, but tonight is aweful. I got error7 once, and I'm constantly having the "treadmill effect"...where I keep 'running' but stay in the same spot.

Past few days I've had the game occasionally lag up as if I was on a wooden modem - pausing for 30 seconds at a time, unfreezing just long enough for everyone to rubberband all over the place then freezing again. At first I thought it might be my internet, but then it started happening to other people with vent staying at a sub-100 ping throughout.

Seems possible, a number of times when ABing tonight a look on the morale chart indicated that one team was at a disadvantage before the match even started.

Also I seem to have the "0 Files Remaining" load screens for a longer period.

I think it's cause of the preview event, theyre streaming the new content to us - i noticed when i was lagging the update icon (lightning bolt) in the top right was there.

I've probably dropped / error7'ed out of about 8 GvG's this weekend, and had a lot more instances of severe lag with up to 20s delays. Maybe it's the fact that this was double factions weekend and everyone was playing, but it was very frustrating. I don't usually get this many error7's.

Thats pretty much same thing thats happening to me past few evenings too.All i can say is GG Anet

I never experience any lag before, but in these last two weeks I had plenty of it I even got my PC to freeze several times too.
I hope this will be a passing stage and all will be normal again.

Well About 5 minutes ago i decided to venture into the UW. Im mean America finally has favor and i was like what the hell, leme get a rip at it with me crazy monk. All things are good, kill a few atxes , get a glob and bam, i experince the fastest e7 since i bought this game. I mean wtf, anet disconnecting us farmers. And yes this has happened before,

, im about to f*uking pull my hair out.

in a simular situation its been so bad that ive been in the middle of no where with no enemies and then i just end up dead swarmed with enemies... its very annoying

Well if it's about the PVP weekend and the server farm is gimp from it shame on ANET! So the next time I see "PVP EVENT" in login screen I guess thats our clue to play somethig else for two weeks!

And the hits keep commin because next weekend is yet another LAG event!

From the Dragon Fest O DOOM till now it's been one thing after another!

WoW player flame eh? NOT! Sounds like ANET FANBOY trying to spin the issue! LOL In less than 1/2 hour we have a TON of posts from people having this issue. The likes of Racthoh and other Vet players are hardly WoW flamers!

(Tips hat to Racthoh...ya made me rich bro!!)

We have a ton of servers, more than enough to handle extra folks who play due to special events. The reports of lag are perplexing to me, but I freely admit I'm not on that sort of technical team, and I cannot make any sort of guess on the cause.

I will check with the Server Team tomorrow. They "live" next door to my office, and are the nicest and hardest working individuals! If they have some insight, even if it's just "We're aware and are working on it" I think that would be a relief to you to know. So I'll ask and see what there is to share on this.

In the meantime, do not throw GW in the trash!

We'll see this through together!

I have read alot of posts where you get involved and know you are "on it" but wow!! (no not WoW) Thats FAST!!!!

(Tips hat to Gaile....Gota be the best PR Boss on the rock!! Bar none!!!)

I assumed a portion of the farm was pulled offline to test the Nightfall preview before going live (better than doing a server rollback over 5gp ecto)
But being in the IT industry myself I can hardly imagine having to pull so much of the farm for testing. Maybe a % of the farm is slated for testing updates anyway. But then that % is not figured into the main mix at any time.

The lag continues as I type this.....just got E7 standing in Senji's FTW!

Ugg even if I did try to toss the game it would lag me away from trash can and kick me outa kitchen lol.

P.S. Gaile....know of any new code being tossed onto game? maybe some new anti farm/bot stuff is killing process power. Server logs FTW!

Just got dropped from a forge run - go figure. I've been err'd out about 10 times the last couple of days.
Thanks for quick response Gaile.
Wondering if the heat and subsequent sporadic power outages has anything to do with this. maybe not Anet servers but providers, etc.
Just hope it clears up soon.

Same here. I had the problem for last 2 days and freezing would last for 1-5 minutes (!!!) at the time which made some GvG sessions quite frustrating. Connection was working perfectly during that time. I even check if my Gw.dat file was fragmented which seemed to cause the similar problem before but it wasn`t so it`s definatelly a server issue.

Depending on the queue....a ton lol. The server I am on has a queue of 250-600+ at random times, along with all the older, larger servers. Nice wait time of anywhere from 5 mins to 1 hr. Yes, we do have a lot of time to spam it up on the forums ^^

i've lagged my fair share too. It's not too bad, but by the time i start almost every mission the others are already ahead and getting themselves killed before i have a chance to heal them. The worst case was Sanctum Cay, where first off, i lagged at the start while the others wandered off, and then, there was more lag while i was trying to get off the boat, so i kept missing the entrance every time. I eventually got out and fortunately everyone else was perfectly fine ^.^ but yeah, that and loading levels that are completely new to me are my lag downfall. imho it's my RAM (i have dual slot RAM, currently totalling 384MB, which is a 128MB and 256MB ram chip in those slots). to me 384MB isn't enough, and i'm planning on getting a 512MB chip to put in place of the stupid 128MB chip. then hopefully my lag problems will be solved.

Also, i guess with these new events there could also be lagging ^.^

I paid for it, and my internet connection isn't free either. Unlike you, I really bought the game.
My necro and assassin lost the chance on survivor title, because the game was freezing in spikes.

yea i have been getting a lot of lag lately, just seems to be getting worse and worse, and the people i am on a team with when i experience this lag are getting it to so i know it is not just my connection.

They say it's "free" because unlike WoW you don't have to pay ridiculous monthly fees

Just like WoW players, Guild Wars players should not accept flaws in the product. Period!

hehe, i'm not saying one's free and the other's expensive. but you do have to pay a lot more in the long run for WoW, both games are roughly £30, however WoW also requires a monthly fee of something like, i dunno £20 a month? that's ridiculous! GW on the other hand requires that all players (even if they're other family members) buy the game to get their own account, which is understandable, because ANet's not using extortional monthly pay methods to gain their cash ^.^

I personally believe, but I might be just naive, that both companies provide a service worth what you pay for.
I don't remember a game where weapons are nerved every week, making the average pve player weaker and weaker. WoW has a steady income, so one could expect a service for that money, while some gullible GW players think their game is free, making them believe that service is less important.

Without doubt GW has been lagging more since Factions. The lag has been mentioned more frequently in guild chat too.

I can't PvP atm, when I jump into a game its all fine n dandy for about 20 seconds then while I can see what's going on I become unable to send any commands, move, talk, or activate skills, this happens for about 2 mins then I error 7 (or I'm dead by that point).

This only happens in PvP but its undeniably the most irritating thing ever. Touch ranger comes at you, try to kite, stop being able to move, see touch ranger come up to you, watch your health drop steadly.

PvE is more or less fine, lag happens but noway as bad as PvP.
