Is anyone still playing Prophecies?
flaakmonkey
I have not played GW in about 3-4 months. I have not got the expansion yet. Do people still play Phrophices?
Bartuc Galadwor
Yes people still do.
Silent Kitty
I have no choice. Factions is way to laggy. That, in combination with terribly overpowered monsters, chases me back to Tyria. I can't fight while my computer is lagging and staggering.
The graphics aren't so nice either.

After I took one of my characters through Factions I returned to Prophecies and have pretty much stayed there since.
Malice Black
most ppl do go back to chapter1
WasAGuest
Yup, many people are still playing in Prophesies. All my characters have migrated back there. It's more fun than Factions once the "newness" of Cantha wears off.
Malice Black
we got new titles..

yep, still play in Tyria......many reasons:
1. have a rit/ele who needs a boat load of skills that are only accessible there, and tons of skill points to get them---so tyria missions get me both.
2. still have some characters that dont have the cartographer or protector titles.
3. its the ONLY place I find staff heads and wrappings in any kind of timely fashion (have only gotten 1 head in cantha with 5 characters playing for the last 2 months.....)
4. drops are better on missions in tyria.............my characters, even with a full henchie group, will fill up 20 slots in my bag or more per mission there....in cantha I am lucky to get one or two items, let alone money.....cantha suuucks for getting loot.
5. up until last month I had only a laptop to play on----cantha slums KILLED me sooooooooo many times due to the horrible lag ( 5 to 10 seconds....cant do much during that kind of lag except die---quickly)....so I spent a ton of time doing stuff in tyria...still dont like the lag but my new computer handles it better.
6. horrible new quests.....and the only rewards are money, xp and equipment requisits---nice if you want to go farming chests (and since the drops suuuuck big time its the ONLY way to make farming pay).....or if you need a new id kit or salvage kit......most of my characters have the xp so its not so much fun and the money aint worth it.
7. just more to do in tyria all in all.....its bigger and there are more areas that are lower level that you can go alone thru.......more fun to NOT need the henchies or a group to get around.
geez is that enough reasons?

I have a fresh Elementalist in presearing....
Natalie Bredesfjord
Yes, my canthan Ranger just became Protector of Tyria
milias
I am now playing Prophecies almost exclusively, even though I have Factions.
Saraphim
Yup, still playing Prophecies. The first thing I did with my Canthan toons after they finished Shing Jea Island was take them to Tyria...
prism2525
Yeah i still play it. Best place for chest farming. In cantha i can't famn anything apart from vermin.
Loviatar
i spend much more time in chapter 1
AW Lore
i have abandoned tyria, with 2 tyrian chars in cantha and 4 canthan borns with two more to be born.
you just need to know where to farm
i make more money farming in cantha than farming in tyria.

Play both, but there are still plenty in Prophecies. I like the graphics in Prophecies much better, it is still the more "in depth" game.
Mister Overhill
Just started a new Prophesies character a couple of weeks ago.
Electric Sky
im considering buying Prophecies since i only have Factions.

I deleted my Cantha born character, I could just never get into the ritualist, and the assasin never appealed to me (too skinny, and the way they run!) - I am one of the ones who likes chapter 1 much better - just started an ele in pre-sear too.
mrcake
i got 1 char through factions and went back to prophecies, have a new mes in pre searing at the moment, i usually play up to lions arch then go to cantha and get max armor and do some quests to get to lvl 20.

And I see a lot of Factions players playing in Prophecies too.
*hint*
It's worth still playing
Slainster
ive just started factions... but i have a lvl 18 mes who's just finished "the wilds"... i love prophecies

Tyria > Cantha
Tyria is so farming friendly compared to Cantha

I play Prophacies PvE as much as I did before Factions was released, and I even play it as much as I play Factions PvE now. I don't. All characters through the games, and UAX means I just stand around, help guildies wherever they are, or PvP.
Ninetail Trickster
Started a necromancer yesterday; currently level 8, and I expect to hit at least level 11 before I go to bed tonight.
Tyria for the win. ^__^

I agree with the general consensus, Cantha had the usual "new" attraction but just isn't as fun. Tyria is much more beautiful and I like the wide open spaces. I live in a cramped dirty city, why would I want to spend loads of gaming time in one?
Started a new ranger in Tyria yesterday. Pre sear is very busy still.

Nothing in Factions compares to the scenery in Prophecies, so that's what draws me back there every time.
TheMosesPHD
I just made a new ranger in tyria with the char slot I bought. I'll keep it til I can use the slot for Nightfall. Whenever I think GW, the memories will always bring me back to good ol' Tyria...
Spike
The wierd thing is my canthan necro now pretty much does nothing but prophecies, while my prophecies characters now pretty much do nothing but cantha.
Vahn Roi
I recently got the Defender of Tyria title. Since then I go back to farm and help guildies with missions. I'm wondering if I want to spend the next few months getting that last 40% of the map uncovered. I also have two elites I still need to cap in the Shiverpeaks.
So yeah...I still play prophecies.

i kinda like prophecies better, the good thing about factions is that it promote asians! and the armor there is soooo sexy!

I still do..

yeah, people haven't really figured out factions too much yet it seems. i wish there was a more seemless map but that's complicated. i pretty much farm both and really only pvp in cantha. factions is worth it if for nothing else than alliance battles and maybe aspenwood. the green-farming is way more efficient than sf and the elite missions don't cost 1000g to enter. Prophecies is good for the whole mindless-farming you can do while holding a conversation with people. i also like that there's incentive for people to get to the "end" of the elites in factions. i've never had the chance to clear underworld or fow even because i never find anyone wanting to do it.
i bought 2 character slots and started a tyrian mesmer and a canthan necro (since i don't have either). my mesmer's annoying because ascalon puts me to sleep (omg, between beta weekends, extra accounts and showing friends the game...do you realize how many times a person can do Great Northern Wall? they should make it a title...i've done it like 50+ times easily and sick of it). got the necro to 17 before leaving the island pretty easily. i'm going to take both through the factions campaign first anyway because...you get the amulets at the end and i want the 15k canthan for both of them.
i'll finish prophecies on them when i really feel like i gotta have aura of the lich and whatever mesmer skill's there...panic or whatever. good to have both but factions has more goodies in it...do people still not take mesmers in their mission groups? is this going to suck?

I play In Cantha alot more than Tyria. I just like some of the scenery in the Kurzick area...finally people as pale as me, i am truly home. I love prophesies, but of the 2165 hours i have played, i spend over 1800 there and am kind of bored of it. I wish Tyria was a bit denser though, but eh well. I dont really farm, so i have no weight to add to either. it may sound a bit arbitrary, but i like some of the enemies in factions, it seems like a bit more of a challenge in some areas. Overall i dont regret buying it for both of my accounts...I will probably make another character soon, havent decided where though...
