ANet has confirmed 300 new skills for Nightfall... even IF the Factions-only professions actually get new skills (which many people would like, apparantly), then it'll only be a few, my guess would be 5-8 skills, of which probably a few elite.
If we do some maths...
300 new skills.
25 for each core profession.
-> 25*6= 150
Atm there are 59 Paragon skills and a few more Dervish skills (i think?), let's make that a total of 125 Nightfall-only Profession skills.
Leaves 25 spots open.
...for now... for either a few more Paragon/Dervish skills, or for Factions-only professions...
If people start hoping that those remaining slots will be for Ritualist and Assassin, beg a little more... but don't start whining if those last skills are actually for the Dervish or Paragon, OR if they're disappointingly crappy...
ANet might actually add in those Ritualist or Assassin skills to a Nightfall-only trainer, to convince people to buy Factions... or those skills will only be buyable by Ritualists and Assassins (who can only be started in Factions), IN Nightfall (so you basically must have both Factions and Nightfall to get those skills, though they're only usable by Canthan characters)
It's up to ANet... but i'd rather see no new Ritualist nor Assassin skills... people who want to keep those professions, only do it to get better by combining it with newer stuff...
I'm keeping my assassin, knowing that she'll benefit off both new professions skills (already been thinking up builds), as well as the adrenal skills from the Paragon (won't be hard to charge it with your higher attack speed rate (due to double strikes)
Also the reason why i deleted my Ritualist... it's too narrowminded, and i can't think of any new combinations for a primary ritualist other than either Rt/N for minion mastery, Rt/R for spirit spamming and... well, that's all basically...
My assassin can use adrenal skills, a pet (i've played in RA with a pet who effectively helped me spike targets), selfheals/protection prayers (Protective Spirit=win against Afflicted), Conditions Removal and Curses, extra damage (Conjure Flame, Frost, etc. as well as Shock and even Wards), annoyance/hex spammage, or giving myself a weapon spell... and these are just ideas that popped up in my mind in less than 2 minutes.
Some people are too narrowminded, i fear...they should think out of the box/continent/campaign, try thinking of newer ways to use characters that are bound to one campaign only!
It's still your own choice if you want your own PvE Paragon or Dervish in Nightfall, perhaps people will actually try their best to create better builds using the growing number of profession combinations instead of just creating a standard W/Mo for that matter, i can already imagine the W/P and the D/Mo or D/E's...
but who knows... if we all whine enough, we might actually get just a couple of more skills for them

Factions had 30 skills for each core profession not 25(even though five were basically copies). Also, what some people are saying is that new skills for the sin/rit wont actually be a part of Nightfall, they might just be added to Cantha around the time Nightfall goes live.

Although I may come off strong on this issue it is because I personally would like to see more skills implemented to these GREAT classes. Until ANET says no more skills or until Nightfall’s release I will continue to separate fact from friction and there is a lot of fiction over what ANET allegedly said on this issue. More often then not when you do the research I have done you will find out ANET never said NO to the idea of more skills for SIN’s and RIT’s.

• Customizable Heroes (party NPCs) that level up with the player, follow player instructions in combat, and use armor, weapons, and skills of the player’s choice.
• A new game type, Hero vs. Hero Battles will allow a single player to participate in PvP with hero NPCs.
• Two new professions: The Dervish, a scythe-wielding holy warrior and The Paragon, the guardian angels of the Elonian people.
• 4 new guild halls.
• 300 new skills.
• 250 Quests, 55 explorable areas, 20 new Story Missions, and three new Challenge Missions.

Oh, and anti-ritual lord skills? It's for the mesmer. There already is Unnatural Signet (waaaaaaaay too overlooked imo), wouldn't be surprised if there'd be another anti-ritualist skill for a CORE PROFESSION (hint, hint).

Just fyi unnatural signent sucks..... it sucks theres no getting around it ... it sucks its obvious you have little pvp exp unatrual signent is like a waste of a skill slot, instead of taking an hour using unatrual to kill one spirit you could just wand it with a ranger or warrior and kill it in 2 hits....

Currently there is no POST by ANET on the GW MAIN website stating Nightfall details such as number of skills etc. My best guess is that ANET will not post such a thing and just release the game.
Here is the Press Release for the Global Release Date. Again please read it carfuly you will see there are no details on the number of Guild Halls, Skills, etc.

I almost can't believe that nobody mentioned this. Characters in Guild Wars have two professions.
If you're looking for expanded Ritualist options, you will get them when a new set of Monk (or whatever) skills are introduced. Chapter-related extension professions are very clearly intended to act as specialists and variants on the core professions. It's almost written in the Factions manual that the Ritualist is a fine friend for the letters Mo and Ne and that the Assassin is what a Wa/Me would look like if a Warrior and a Mesmer could adopt a starving child from Giber and raise it on their hardline fundamentalist Balthalyssian values.
Maybe you're playing an As/Rt or are planning on a De/Pa (why) for Nightfall. Maybe there's a price to pay for running extension characters without the strong backbone that the core professions provide, and that price might be stagnating. Either deal with the limited pool of skills that you sign up for when you make an As/Rt, and do the best you can do to develop a solid build that works for what you want to accomplish, or give that crap up and just switch to /Me. It's a call. Make it.
The opinion that the skills for the Assassin and Ritualist class will be useless in subsequent chapters is an idiot. Please take it out back and shoot it before it kills a litter of puppies with exceptionally heavy petting. Ritualists will have no place in PvP post-Nightfall in the same way that Warriors quit using skills from Prophecies and never looked back when Factions came out.
Several other people have mentioned the distinct possibility of skill tweaks and minor changes. Worth repeating.
Think a little. Please?

Either way, if there are no new skills for my rit, I am going to use the extreme surfeit of skill points she will have to unlock new skills from other professions.
Just my 2 cents.

Was it just me or did it seem that there were very few dervish/paragon skills compared to other proffesions. I hope that there will be other skills, if not its going to be kinda dissapointing b/c there were like less than 5 elites for the paragon if i can recall. as to the topic lol, i dont think there will be any new sin/rit skills in nightfall. If they introduce it as a "stand alone" game, then no but if they finally admit it as an expansion, then maybe
Still not gonna stop me from bringing my sin to nighfall campaign.

1 Showed the strength and weakness of each of the new classes
2 Allowed feedback from the community on what the classes could need
3 Publicity
I think you will see some more (maybe not all) skills and more elite skills for the PvE event. Not to worry even after the PvE event they will make some final tweaks to the classes and make some more skills or change what is already developed until the final release of the game. They did the same thing for Factions. Anyone remember Panaku aggroing everything in sight on day one?
It is my hope that they will also show some of the new SIN and RIT skills, if anything for PvP sake, they have been working on these last few weeks. This said it is still not confirmed by ANET they will add new SIN and RIT skills. The only evidence of new SIN and RIT skills is the PC Gamer interview and that has not been confirmed by ANET yet.

I was just curious if they are going to add new dagger skins with the Nightfalll release. I've heard that they are not adding new skills to the Assassins and Rits, but does this mean they are not going to add dagger skins as well?

There will not be any aditional content for Sins or Rts in Nightfall (As far as items go) Why? or how do I know?
each Guild Wars Chapter is Self Standing, Why would there be content drop for other classes? It's Useless to them.

Exactly, I mean they didn't add Daggers to Prophecies. (However, Spawnning and Communning Staves do drop in the Tomb of the Prim. Kings.) (Raven Staves)

Speculation is not fact.
IMO It would be great if some of the monsters in Elona did use SIN skills and droped some SIN daggers. Monsters such as the dreaded Boarilla. GRRR!
Truth is we won't know how things will be done until the game is realeased. However its always nice to speculate as long as you say its your opinion.
Sai of Winter
I have a feeling you have high expectations for new Rt/A content in NF, GloryFox. You know that they have two development teams working on seperate chapters right? I highly doubt they will have any Rt/A monsters, weapons and armor for them in Elona. Since the Ritualist and Assassin class are unique to Cantha. It's common sense. We won't even make a primary Rt/A in Elona. The only thing Rt/A's will get when NF is release are new skills (which might be a small amount), whether it will be a live update for the Factions campaign or within the Nightfall campaign.
GloryFox
I like to think I have practical opinions since I understand Marketing.
Marketing wise it makes sense to have some content for the SIN and RIT although I fully agree with you on the NOT making SIN's and RITs in Elona. In this way people will want to purchase Factions to unlock those classes so they can use SIN and RIT content found in Elona, if any.

If there'll be new skills for all previous chapter professions on every new chapter, then the amount of skills and the amount of time to develop them would increase a lot. Say the number of new skills for the 7th chapter that'd be what? 16 x 25 + 75 x 2? Sounds impractical to me.

There won't be any skills... it's been proven and counted by multiple people in here... unless ANet actually surprised us... but I don't want to keep my hopes up, and neither should you... Sorry that whole argument about there not being content for Assassins and Ritulists in Prophecies really isn’t factual proof that skills won’t be added to new chapters, since when you think about progression of the story line taking the Assassin and Ritualist back to Tyria isn’t progressive of where they come in at.
Up until now it’s all been speculation about the Assassin and Ritualist skills being in Nightfall.
But if you want proof of my source
