Amazing build.. thanks man. After spending like 2 plats to find out how to pull the Graspings I was very happy I could move on, but got a little problem now.
When I'm at the Smites, those Coldfires just block everything for me. I can kill like 2 or 3 groups of Smites, then I come at the crossing with the Coldfires walking up and down etc., and I can't pass through, lol. I died more times getting pwnd by Coldfires than getting pwnd at the first part -___-.
I'd appreciate it if someone can give me a little help

You could just kill the coldfires too. Just dont use physical resistance or the visages and move out of there malestrom. I wouldent recomend taking on more then 3 at a time though and the time it takes to kill them is not worth it unless you have to. Be sure not to take on smites and coldfires though.

Dahnel, thanks for the build. With a few minor changes, i was able to go thru a lot of Factions and am currently working my way thru Tyria. Plus, this helped me get a few armors for some of my needy characters.
Thats kinda sad about wiki, i checked out the link, checked it again later in the day and it was changed.
Also, with your build, i almost cleared out all the coldfires as well. It was more of a challenge, but very simple to do if needed. I lost my concentration on the last group because i was prematurely celebrating. lol

Rather than wasting time learning how to kill the coldfires, I would suggest that you spend time learning their patrols and how to avoid them. They take a while to kill and don't drop anything good, and it's possible to kill all the smites without the coldfires ever noticing you (which I've always found to be strange...."Hey Lou, weren't there some little spidery guys over here last time we walked past? Where'd they go?").
You can get through the run MUCH faster if you avoid all the coldfires.

However, coldfires do drop the new gloom shield (i think thats the name of it) and can be killed after killing the smites. Easiest way I have found is hit up echo and aggro. Then use VwK. Stay outta maelstrom by moving around. You will need to use soothing and vengeful weapon at critical spots once your 3 VwK's stop. But after spamming vengeful weapon and VwK and by moving around they can be killed. It does take some time tho - although not a significant amount. Plus, gloom shields are pretty rare - so a nice drop of one can go for quite a bit.

"Could you please provide some factual information to back that up? If not, then it's just your observation on your runs. For me, the smites drop 85% of the ecto I have received. I don't think you can really say one or the other drops more ecto. It seems to differ for players."
Easy Killer - Actually from Guildwiki it clearly states that the ecto drop rate for a smite is <2% and the ecto drop rate for an Aatax is 4%. Most people get their ecto drops from smites because in a typical run they kill about 10 times as many smites as they do Aatax. It's a simple number of kills thing.
If you have been running this build to get your ecto's the OF COURSE you are getting more ectos from the smites cause you don't kill the aatax. He made one statement and while I agree with the first part of your post just calm down and put this in perspective.
