Why I don't like PvP
Alias_X
This is my opinion, and I realize you might not agree.
I don't like the PvP side of Guild Wars because it seems too organized. You set up a build thats popular, get into a group that needs your build, and enter the game. That is the first thing I don't like. To me, PvP should have some danger, some consequences. You lose match or die? You can get into another group and do it all over. Now I hate World of Warcraft, but their style of PvP seems more fun to me. (Style does not include all the super armor and weapons that take months to farm. I am talking about the way it is set up.) There is danger, you see other people and either you are going to kill them, or they are going to kill you. Then what should happen? You lose gold or some random item in your inventory. To me that would make PvP more exciting. Sure, it isn't an FPS, but these organized matches just feel too boring.
Next, the feel of PvP. We are warriors, mesmers, with swords, wands, canes, you name it. These are all fantisful things. What happens in PvP? You stand in territories and a ring of light changes color to your side. It just doesn't fit in.
I haven't played GW PvP for long because I never took a liking to it, but as PvE gets more and more boring for me, I see myself trying the PvP side more often. I don't want PvP to be geared towards ZoMG R()x0r ADHD !!!1111 Kids whose attention can only be held by PvP that is extremely fast paced without endless respawns, but I can see some improvements.
Anyone other thoughts?

uhh ok some people go lose like req 8 15^50 crystalline cuz they went against like morbrid knight or something. woo sounds good. if its a pvp char, you lose the weapons then you have to go remake again? this really is the worst idea i ever heard of. people try hard to make money to get something good, then they go and try out pvp, lose and lose that item they worked so hard for. i think many people would quit

I don't really think you know what you're talking about, to be honest. Seeing as how WoW PvP is very similar.

You do realize your only covering a small aspect of pvp, alliance battles, there's also random and teams arenas, hero's ascent, and gvg, not to mention fort aspenwood. Jade Quarry is similar to alliance battles in that you cap different places.
Poison Ivy
I got a perfect idea that can solve your problem.
Everytime you go in a PvP group, and you happen to die, give me 10k. Not only making the game riskier for you, but better for me.

You actually seem to be someone who doesn't like GW in the least. You don't like PvP, but those same reasons say you don't like PvE. It may be time for you to put the game away for awhile to try something else. Come back around for Nightfall, or whenever your intrest in GW sparks again.

You might think everyone goes the same build all the time, but when it comes to balance builds or pressure they can always change, and if you haven't notcied IWAY has changed like five times since its creation.

I think that ur point is more risk = more fun.True for some people (depends)
Existing gw entertainment was never addapted to such things, and it will never be unless they invent new area or island just for sutch things, and that would be pretty supprising
If this kind of game improvment would be made, than that would be fixed because its so inferior in comparation with the idea
That sounds almost like - "bidding"

That will not work for GW. Players will simply use premades and the weapons that come with them. You lose the battle and a customized premade weapon. Big deal

well, personally I dont like to use "popular" builds, because it seems like Im winning for someone else...
thats why it takes me longer to get in to HoH, but I at least get the satisfaction of using my own build...
My HoH characters, are my mesmer and my ritualist... btw.
Alliance battles should be taken with a grain of salt, also- its a good change, but dont expect me to ever do more than a couple in one day (faction just is pointless unless you are in a 20million alliance, i think)
besides, the best teams are the ones using builds that are their own... look at the All-Necro team that dominated HoH for like 4 days straight (exaggerated, but true)

Would you play your rank 2000+ guild against a rank 10 guild, if you knew you were going to lose a valuable item, if you lose? How about the afk people in your team? What would you do with them?

Alias_X, I don't believe he was flaming you when he told you to quit until Nightfall. You don't seem to enjoy the pvp system as it is now, so it is a perfectly legitimate suggestion... to leave GW until the next expansion when you can give pvp another chance (or just stay in pve, since Nightfall is supposedly pve-oriented). Well, when I read what he said, I didn't think it was a flame at all.
Maybe the GG was meant to get at you, but certainly not his first comment about Nightfall.
About your dislike for GW pvp, here's my opinion. I have played real MMORPG's with free PK that have a chance of losing money/items/armor/exp. It was exciting, yes, but overall, I prefer the GW pvp system. It gives players a chance to test their skills (unless they just run popular builds, but if they want to play around with builds, popular or not, that's still experimenting) without fear of it failing (except being called a 'noob' in game). Let me tell you, PK free games put me and so many people on edge and made us testy. It was horrid, knowing that whatever you were doing, you could be killed in an instant by a higher level or someone with stronger gear, or a superior class (in this case, I think Rangers who dominate everyone and PK us all to extinction).
Aside from the fact that you would have to spawn and run all the way back to wherever you were before you died, you'd better freaking hope you didn't lose anything good... because aside from random PK, people often targetted farmers, repeatedly.. knowing they would likely drop something of value, or more gold than your average player. It really takes the fun out of gaming for a lot of people. Leveling was hellish because you were a sitting duck for anyone, even when you stayed closed to town (ranged characters, for example, could snipe you from a distance, or cast a spell that could KO you in one hit).
Of course, even pvp games have their rules (some implement PK servers, level caps, etc). But if that's the kind of system you prefer, it's just not to be found in GW. Maybe you could switch between games. When GW gets too boring for you, take a break and go play another game until you get tired of the excitement... then come back to good ol' predictable GW pvp.. ^_^ where the worst thing that could happen when you lose is a massive drop in rank (hurts more than it sounds, you know) or getting flamed by your enemies and/or teammates.
*EDIT* I think the bidding idea was just a joke. Hah hah? ;D

the nice thing about alliance battle pvp-> you dont need rez sig on every character, and you dont get DP...
Some people think of AB as the most glorious thing ever- personally i see it as the most glorious random arena and thats about it :P
Even moreso than random arena- like i said no sig- you can really test out ANY kind of build that your heart desires-> even if you lose you still get faction points so its really no big deal

I believe there was an idea floating around...where if you killed someone in PvP, there would be a green weapon drop based on the enemies' weapons.
Of course it could only be applied in Team Arena.
The other PvP modes are enough of a "duel" format to warrant the guy gaining a weapon based on you.

Losing an item may sem ok to you, but I sure wouldn't want to lose my Mursaat Hornbow because I got ganked in PvP by a couple of IWAY warriors and my monk was too busy picking his nose to heal me. Not to mention the fact that Guild Wars combat system is based around fast paced action, heavy death counts are not uncommon. Who the hell would ever bring a PvE character into a PvP game with the amount of times you can expect to die and lose items whenever you do? You need to stop thinking about why you think WoW's system would work in Guild Wars, and start thinking of why it works in WoW, and if it actually could work well in GW.

Don't think I'll be doing anymore there somehow, although Jade Quarry looks interesting but no one was there.....
I dont think losing items when you die will appeal to anyone, and anyone with a decent weapon would be the main target of every other player for starters so it'll never work.
Plus I dont like the elitest crap and general attitude/name calling you get from some PvP players who seem to think they're God or something which is another reason I cant be bothered with it especially after the names I got called by a Touch Ranger and some dumb Assassin trying to be one or something as I countered the pair of them and they couldn't accept it so they resorted to namecalling...LOL

I think pvp should be about skill like it says on the box (im not kidding...look at the box.)

High end PvP in GW is more like a sport than MMO PvP (PKing and such).

I don't understand this. You say you dislike guild wars PvP and compare it to a bunch of other legitimate pvp systems on other large games that you do like. If you like their PvP systems why don't you go and play that game? It's ridiculous to make suggestions like you have when basically everyone who is PvPing in guild wars is doing it because they like its system above all the other games out there.
Wtf?Omfg!Bbq!
Lol why are you comparing the 'Wow Pvp' with the 'Guildwars pvp'? You cant change the Pvp now, its like a big part of the game. So imo hate it or love it
