DEEP closed (?)
Reza
first i have to say im not sure about this.
me and my friend were trying to go Deep tonight, so we were standing in cavalon "LF taxi", and someone told us: "dont waste your time deep is closed! im from the alliance who controlls cavalon and we decided to not let ppl go deep for a while!" first we thought he is jocking, but i asked some more ppl they all sayed same thing.
some of them saying the alliance who controlls cavalon closed it to make kanaxai items worth more!
if this thing is true, really i think anet has to do something about it! they cant let some crazy idiots close part of the game and dont let others to go there!
is it really true???

There are some people that have their characters camped there already so it will not stop the flow of items just slow it down.
Some one could also buy the town and let the doors open again.

I am from the Godz alliance, and officer infact. the deep being closed is a lie. The reason it is hard to find a taxi is because only people in the alliance with friend of the luxon title or higher is allowed to ferry. The reason for this is because people do tip, and it is a great waste of the faction farmers times to actually farm their butts off just to have some new recruit ferry his brains out for tips, which eventually makes people tip very little, this makes those people that have earned the tip's faction farming in vain.
So in summary, no the deep is not closed, we are just preserving the dedicated faction farmers right to get tips.

Wow, what a GREAT representation of a top luxon alliance and the Guild Wars community as a whole! In a game where gold means pretty much nothing except vanity tokens, people STILL are willing to cut fellow players from accessing endgame content because they WANT. MORE. GOLD!
I knew Luxons were pirates, but c'mon...
smilngraccoon
Mithie, can you read? He said it has nothing to do with prices, just to stop leaching of ppl that join the Godz alliance and do nothing but ferry for tips
Horseman Of War
Yeah, rock on Luxon!
Thats the best idea yet!!
Dont let these doops into your place!!! Make them earn it!!!

Actually, if they did stop ferrying for free or tips then I would think more highly of them.
They're probably just a bunch of idealists which in my dystopic world equal what you said they would be.
I have issues nvm
EDIT: wow people posted faster than me.
The one who made the comment about WANT. MORE. GOLD.
Do you farm your ass off 24/7 to give some people you don't even know, who probably could care less if you were dead or alive, free access to something that normally is reserved only to you?

lol, so basicaly ur just stopping the noobs in your alliance from leeching the alliance for their personal gain, right?

It's funny how people are complaining about this. An alliance holding the town doesn't have to ferry people anywhere. They can keep the access to themselves if they really wanted to.

... and the highlighted part is what drove me to make the connection that the reason for less ferries was because they wanted people to tip more by limiting access? |
they darn welll earned that right

It is something that "They" make available to the players that do not belong to the Guild or Alliances. This is their choice.
In all honesty kudos to them for actually ferrying people.
They don't have to, there is nothing there to make them do this.
I've always tipped to be ferried across, because it's something that they are doing out of their own free will. Yes, it might take five minutes, but in the end it's "Them" doing us a Favor.

Real life analogy: sometimes the government makes a policy that you don't agree with, even though it's perfectly legal that they do so. Nothing stops them from making the said policy but people are still going to complain about it. Telling the critics to "don't agree with how stuff are? Run for presidency then" certainly won't help.

Im second in charge of Godz, and the reason behind the rule was because we had people that would join and sit in cavalon ferrying for 3 hours straight, making it worthless for everyone else to ferry. These people did nothing but take up room on our roster and such all tips from generous people out. All guilds in the alliance agreed that this was the best way to stop leachers and reward loyal members who put effort into making our alliance own cavalon.
Sorry if I was harsh about it but many a times have I gone into cavalon and people have yelled at me like it was my duty to bend over, stop what I was doing, and bring them to the deep. We worked hard for control of cavalon, and the deep will never be closed but many people get on my nerves about this issue. The rule is in place to keep our alliance running without leachers, it has nothing to do with prices of kanaxi items and to lesser extent tips.

there is no reason why anyone should ever HAVE to give a stranger something for free. even if its 3 minutes oif their time, ferriers take TIPS, if you feel they did something wrong, u dont HAVE to tip them, but they did you a favor and it would be for the best if you tipped them.

Indeed, im from Godz, also a officer, ive been receiving whispers about the deep being closed, it is NOT closed, contact me ingame if im there ill take you.
Anet will not intervene as somebody above said, they designed it like this, people who work for Faction get access to the 'Elite' Missions, and as Smilingraccoon said - Taxis are hard to find because only people with 'Friend of the Luxons' or Higher is allowed to Taxi people.
We get many people who join our Alliance purly to Taxi people because the tips people give can be very nice.
Now think of it this way, people like me and nearly 80% of the alliance farm for hours a day to own Cavalon,And some guy joins and Taxis All day, every day reaping the rewards of tips, while the rest of us are farming for faction. it is OUR choice to let the public in.
We did have a time where we closed it for 2 weeks but that is over.
Like i say contact me and i will Ferry you, if you so wish.Beleaive it or not, theres many leechers out there reaping the Rewards and not giving anything to the Alliance, thats why its hard.

this opens a new market .. for officers who have a charcter in the deep to invite people as guests for a fee to taxi them into the deep from the guild hall only to people who have been there before
TheMadKingGeorge
also do you complain when you dont have the favor to go to the fow or uw.. is it unfair that europe wins most the time...i dont think so. so stop complaining try and find another way of getting rich.. oh yeah there greedy for not letting you in but you want to be rich just like the owners so stop being so self rightous you moron
Chilly Ress
This is ridiculous, they earned it, they should have you BEGGING to be ferried...

Just a point of comment: EVERY Alliance that has problems with ferrying somehow breaks up. I've seen it happen many, many times. I never know why, but it does.

Not this debate again.

As an Ally of the Luxon and former member of the Crusaders alliance, then Keys alliance, and now our (non-faction devoted) own alliance, I have to say that ferrying and ceasing ferries due to tips is forces me to disregard any and all respect for the Godz alliance.
I ferried thousands of people and didn't earn a cent. If you want MORE tips, then ferry MORE. Not less. Go to the International districts,t here's lots of euros there needing ferries.

Last time I checked it wasn't obligatory for a person to Tip someone.I never Tip anyone. If they want me to pay they have to specifically ask them to pay them for their services.Otherwise it's free.(Mind you, this applies to Video Games. Not real life.If I was given great service by a specific employee I'd give them a tip..oh em gee service..MOER LIEK BUTTSECKS!)
smilngraccoon
Shantel, I believe it has been stating many times, it has very little to do with tips at all, it is to cut down on leachers that do nothing but leach off of tips and dont do anything proactive for the alliance.

im in the dth alliance, i dont think the deep would ever be closed like that as it is not reasonable and if such a occurance was real, people would become quite angry at those who are in the Godz alliance

In all honesty, I never understood why people get so worked up over these two areas. It is the controlling alliances right to say who gets acess and who doesn't. They put in the work to earn that right and everyone else that is complaining should really take a hard look at themselves. To automatically expect something from people who have earned it while you do nothing except for b**tch and moan is a disgrace. Morally and legally speaking, you have no rights to the area unless you are part of the controlling alliance. It really isn't difficult to get an alliance together with the sole purpose of faction farming to gain control. Yes it does take a lot of time to do, but its what you do if you want control. So stop being lazy and put in the time yourselves and quit sponging off of the hard work of others.
I seriously expect to get flamed for this, but I am tired of people whining like children who want things now without putting in any type of effort to earn it themselves.

How about we just not stone anyone, okay?
Seriously though, the Godz alliance has a point. I wouldn't want people joining my guild just so they could collect tips. Besides, once more members get their titles than the amount of ferries should go up, right?

I agree with Godz entirely. Only certain people in alliance should earn the right to ferry and the possibility of getting tipped. I see retards in house ferrying all the time and I didnt tip the guy first time I went and he said "OMG IM REPORTING YOU FOR SCAMMING BECAUSE YOU DIDNT TIP" So I gave him one gold to let him know what I thought he was worth. And now because of that one guy, I dont respect the nubz at house.

Welcome to Guildwars Factions, try to have fun....
They dont have to ferry and whether you like it or not, they own the town. Their Rules.
As much it pains me to say this, if you dont like it, maybe you are looking at a wrong game to play.
Edit for spelling.

I can care less who they want to ferry. There are plenty of other places to farm.
And by the time I start to care again, they will be gone and a new set of rulers will be in place.

There doing you a favor, its not there DUTY to ferry you, especially not ingrateful fools that start flaming and insulting to be ferried, you think theyd ferry you with such an ingrateful attitude?I certainly dont hope they do,they can lock it down completely if you ask me,especially keeping the ingrateful folks out might teach them not to take it all for granted.

Luxons owning Cavalon or Kurzicks owning House Zu Heltzer, should let people in for free, the way every place ingame is supposed to be. Instead they leave the alliance to decide, this could cause people to leave, or people to become enraged with the people in these alliances. Ooooooook.... Self Righteous... everyone wants to be rich, you and I are no exception, why blame this guy for wanting to be? You shouldn't, the leaders want to be rich, but if they charge 10k per ferry, it's a totally unfair way of making money, they abuse their power like that, they will be overthrown. No question about it. [/post]
