Will Nightfall dissapoint?

i have a bad feeling i will be dissapointed with nightfall like i was with factions. it was hyped so much and it just dissapointed me with the stupid luxon kurzick crap. allince battles n aspenwoods and jade quarry was fun but the rp was just boring. the quests were kinda hard in the beggining for just starting like mayhem in the market.... get booted off island around 12-14 n then have to go right for lvl 20 monsters.... i just didint like it and i hope it dosent happen agian. the rt n assasin were ok but i do not like the dervish or paragon at all. please give me some thoughts and concerns if anyone has any.

Custom Heroes sounds more interesting that Faction vs. Faction, admittingly.

I have a feeling that ArenaNet will learn from their mistake.

no it will not be a disappointment. Actually it might be to some people if they dont get what they are looking, you cant make everyone happy but I think they have learned from their mistakes and are going to give us a much better game and im excited to play it. The game WILL ave flaws and it wont be perfect and thats what updates are for.

It honestly depends how badly they nerf dervish IMO.

You can wait 1 month after release, we will let you know.

Seeing that most people have extremely high expectations from Nightfall, it will probably dissapoint. However, it will still be a good game, and very likable by all players. Just not up to their expectations.

That's just my guess.

I agree, the Dervish, and to a lesser extent the Paragon are both good classes, trashing them completely would be really bad.

In addition, I really do think Factions was a trial run. I have much faith in Nightfall.

You can't have high expectations of sequels from the original impression. It kills when the expectations aren't met.

About Factions...it was okay except for the CITY's quests which were incredibly fed-ex.

I have higher expectations for the Paragon than Dervish...more combo-ability with other classes.

Things I'm thinking about:

A/P, W/P, P/W, R/P

I think Nightfall will be a success. I really wanna try out some new builds. Guess we'll see what happens in a few months.

Well i like Factions, i found it really good, then again, i look at everything, yes the story line was not great, but the modeling the was it was put togeather and everything else i really liked. So for me i like it. As for Nightfall, i like both the new classes and i most likey will like the game becuase it just the way i am. Give about a month after it comes out and i will have a better idea of what people should thing about nightfall.

Factions might have been a type of trial run, but they will get better at this. I think every 6 months, a new PvE version of gw, and every other 6 months pvp. Eventually they will get better at bringing in stuff that people really want.

When Factions was to be released, I remember like 4 days beforehand them announcing all this new stuff, including Titles as one of the main things, 4 DAYS BEFOREHAND. So our best bet, is that the BEST STUFF IS YET TO BE ANNOUNCED. Which of course keeps us hopefull.......

I've been to the future twice now, and I can say with absolute certainty that Nightfall will not disappoint.

It's the 5th Chapter we must worry about.

people will buy Guild Wars, and complain.
people will buy Factions, and whine alot
people will buy Nightfall and maintain it.

I think Opeth is hitting on the key factor. Your own expectations are what makes the game dissapointing or not. Sure Anet will put out a lot of hype, they have to in order to grab the needed headlines, that is how advertising works. I mean, honestly, have you ever seen a Big Mac in real life that looks like as good as the ones in the commercials? Then you put that hype in the hands of forum readers and it quickly spins out of controll, and expectations go through the roof. (i.e. OMG, it is called NightFALL, as in we will be able to fall, so we must be able to jump, NIGHTFALL WILL INCLUDE JUMPING)

If you just expect a good game that continues the series, you more than likely will not be dissapointed. If you get enraptured by all the hype, especially the hype that exists on forums, you will most likely be dissapointed.

Night Fall,1º its the team of Prophecies,2º we dont have some chinese gay things, we have evil creatures, 3º with evil bosses, 4º a new whole PvE sistem.

Factions is cool, wats wrong with it? Having a blast in it. Just don't like the expert and master system in the missions.

An inteligent Dev team will have looked at our complaints/suggestions and approvals from factions and tried to get these into Nightfall. Hopefully Anet have themselves an inteliget Dev team.

But I doubt that Nightfall will bomb, the number of people called Xxx Reaper Xxx or ||| Death ||| will increase of course :-S

i for one am happy with both of the chapters, more prophecies than factions i would have to say. factions was fun for 1 character, but after that, i got bored with the missions and what not. i didnt mind all the chinese stuff, and as far as nightfall goes, just cause of where it is based (elona, kind of a part of prophecies) i think it will be PvE based.... as i think Factions was PvP based. so it will give soething to those players who like PvE again. the one thing about factions i didnt liek however, was that EVERY boss had a gren to his name.... i like alot of the greens (stonreaper, sskai's sword, ghials staff...) but i think that was just overboard. the point of greens (i thought) was supposed to be more rare than a gold. i see greens going for a few hundred gp, and the golds at 100k+ sometimes.... i wish the green were worth more again ^^;;

all in all i think nightfall will not dissapoint.

On topic, Nightfall will only disappoint if you want it to. If you are gonna sit here for a few weeks telling yourself its gonna disappoint over and over, then yes, it will disappoint.
Works the other way too, screaming its gonna be the best GW ever may leave you a bit dissapointed if not everything you thought there would be is in the game.

Will it dissapoint? Maybe.
Will it be a bad game? Of course not.

I take it you don't remember how much whining about the game there was after the release of prophecies? Now suddently everyone loves prophecies and hates factions. People on internet forums whine, that's what they do.
