Most Memorable moment in Guild Wars.
Caethas Turan
I know there are many threads scattered here and there about the dumbest thing you've done in the game, biggest jerk, etc. And this got me thinking.
What is the most memorable moment everyone's had in Guild Wars?
So I will start this one off.
The Eternal Grove Mission. Keeping the Tree Singers alive, etc.
My husband and I go into this a few nights ago, he's monking and I'm on my necro, mming. And it's about 8.30pm for us, in New Zealand, so there's no one to do the mission with us. So I pipe up, henchies!! We can do this, my minions can be tanks and they won't hurt us.
So in we go, killing the siege turtles as we go along. Did you know they can fall over and they thrash about when knocked over?? (Extremely funny) make it to the cut scene with 10/12 Singers still alive. By now I'm laughing so hard, my cheeks hurt, but we're still going on.
Now we can do this, of course we can, and I vaguely remember the Thomas the Tank Engine theme going off in my head. I ca, I can I think I can, etc. Anyways, back on track.
In come the afflicted mobs, and well my ten minions, including flesh golem, are now gone. And I'm like oh no, we're stuffed. We will have to come back and do this again. One afflicted goes down and I'm like .. well of blood or golem, which one .. And so up goes a well of blood (Yes, I know am Death and Blood is well blood, but 2 health regen helps!)
Anyways we're down to 2 Tree Singers, and I've died once, thankfully my Monk got me up to continue raising minions, and laying down wells. So we run for the tree singers still alive. Defence mode on!! We can do this! And I'm like let me lay a well, it will help, off it goes somewhere no where near us. Damn! Have to wait for one more afflicted to die, hopefully near us. Bang there goes another tree singer, and afflicted. Off goes another well, this one in the right spot, and then the Rit Boss and the last mob left. Both of us in tears of laughter as this is now possible. Run for the ritualist, pinging and targeting him so the henchies attack it. And down he goes, taking me and four henchies with him.
OMG we lost?!?!?
No... the Monk saves the day by ressing me and the rest so we can kill everything else, while he healing seed's the last remaining Tree Singer.
Completed Mission with 1 Tree Singer left. And that was all we cared about.
That was my most memorable mission, and moment in my Guild Wars history.

Hmm.. most memorable event was when my first character, a monk, played the game together with my b/f's ranger and we had gotten to thunderhead.
He, of course, wanted the bonus, so it took a few tries, but we finished it and the group decided to keep going.. I think we started at about 8-9pm and finished at 5am.
I distinctly remember dreaming health bars and being unsure if I was awake or asleep during hells. I had been up since 7am the previous morning, so falling asleep was allowed and we still managed to do it with very little deaths.

I got into a really good PUG for FoW. Nice guys, we had two who had to leave halfway through, but anyway...
We were spammed by the Skeleton Ether/Malestorm casters (I dont pay attention to names, bear with me), along with 2 mobs. I was the only monk. Before I start shooting off heals, I spam for BR, and start just using whatever skills I have, wether it be WoH, Heal Party, whatever. The battle lasted around... 20 seconds, Ill guess. No one died, and I felt pretty good about myself ^_^.

My most memorable one would have to be the time myself and my guild leader at the time decided to do The Last Day Dawns right from Frontier Gate. We picked up two randoms then went in, one went afk right away so my guild leader N/E, the other one R/Something, and I did the quest by ourselves, finished it too. And I hadn't even done either of the 15 att quests and I didn't have a res in anyway. (yes I was a noob at the time) Call it lucky (I do) but that was the most memorable by far.
Followed pretty closely by the first time I finished THK with a pug. It took, I kid you not, 15 trys before I beat it the first time.

I have two. The first one was getting a gorgeous Storm Bow from a chest in UW, back when I had no idea what UW was or why I was there. (my guild took me)
The second happened very recently. I got two (not one, but TWO) Dead Bows drop for me in presearing. I didn't know you could get them there.

Just yesterday, cleared out Tomb of Primeval Kings with a kick-ass team. Good playing and lots of fun! Got a nice green as well
Chilly Ress
Probably the day Sorrows Furnace opened and I got a group with my guildies and started to explore it, good times...
-Loki-
Beating SNA with Obsidian Flame warriors. Fun times.
Queenie
Probably when I got Christie's FoW since i wanted it since..like...forever!
Gonzo
Getting horribly lost in The Wilds I would probably get lost in it again if I go in now, it's been so long.

Just tonight in HA we got a random group going and attempted to play while yelling out "Random Group FTW" before every battle. Surprising the first few times we did ok and managed to get a win.
Of course our luck didn't last long but it was fun. (expect to see more this weekend )
Owning Thirsty River for the first time we tried with ease after having much difficulty with the other Desert quests.
Doing AB for the first time. Nothing more awsome than 12v12 madness.
Making a Elementist runner (E/Mo) and getting him from Ascalon to Yak's Bend.
THK with Guildies.
Huge Assasin sync dances during the Factions pre-release event
Destorying all the Char at the great northern gate with my lvl 20 (we failed mission though :P )

when we flawlessed iGi in a 30min battle and hear 3 days in a article that their guild split up .... we were laughing so hard it hurt..
Raging Pacifist
I faced an eoe bomb in tombs that killed our entire team except for our prot monk. Our prot monk takes the ghostly hero, and manages to kill the remaining 4 people and ghost on the enemy team.

My most memorable guild wars moment happened quite early, back in one of the beta weekends (of prophecies). Some might remember: They had just put in the northern shiverpeaks, however, none of the outposts were there yet. All the rage of the weekend was trying to bring your (level 8-10) ascalon character to Lions Arch by running all the way. Filled with stone summit. Without res shrines. Getting warped back to Yak's bend if you died. And to top it of, if someone moved into the entrance to Gates of Kryta, your group booted (happened to two of my groups).
My monk had already progressed from lvl 9 to lvl 11 trying when I assembled the group that finally made it. Running, fighting, dieing. Rebirth proved to be an invaluable skill that night, bringing the party back from near total wipe many times. We were down to 4 by the time we made it to the caves, where we killed the mobs one by one by pulling them towards the 2 friendly trolls you get. In the end we made it to Lions Arch with only 3 people left, took about 4 hours. I still think of that time when I see the "Running to LA, 500g at each stop" spams ...

First ever GvG match when I had no idea how PvP worked.
My guild had 7/8 and wanted another player to make up the numbers. I said I'd come as long as nobody shouted at me for not knowing what I was doing. They told me to roll a pre-made paladin since it was easy to use but they made me take out the healing spells. (But I want my Healing Breeze damnit!)
This was back when taking two bonders got you pretty damn far in GvG and I couldn't understand why I was hardly taking damage. Then the other team realised that we were bonding and managed to get our bonders down to around 30dp each so they were struggling with energy and we forced back into our base.
This was the warriors isle and they had repaired their 'pult and were waiting in the courtyard for one of our players to stray close enough for them to gank. One of out more experienced warriors announces that he is going to run the flag and try and earn us a desperately needed morale boost. So off he charges out the back gate. I don't know why the other team didn't send anyone to stop but they didn't and this proved to be decisive.
Our warrior captured the flag and proceeded to catapult their team who were still stood in the courtyard. One of their monks survived and we ganked him. This was just after 24 minutes or something. So we had a whole 2minutes to take out NPCs.
We took out most archers and footmen and repaired our catapult. They were practically trapped in their base. But they rush out the back gate (without the flag btw) and run towards our base. Instead of chasing them back we charged their remaining NPCs, an archer, two body guards and the guild lord. It turned into a battle of who could kill the NPCs quicker and we had a slight head start. We took down their first body guard no problem, but they managed to take down both ours quicker. Fortunately the remaining body guard decided he would stand next to the guild lord so we whacked out mass AoE spells and took the body guard out and the guild lord to about half hp. We kept at it and eventually my final thrust was charged and I let rip, the guild lord went down and we won the match by a mere fraction.
I was so pumped by this, and this started off my love for PvP. I don't think I've had a rush as big as that since but I'm still playing so maybe someday...

With my warrior I couldn't complete Elona Reach. To me, it was simply impossible, unthinkable. Instead i got a runner. When my necro got there, we did it first time round with bonus and it was a breeze...
The same happened but Vice-Versa at thirsty river. >_<

After a year, and finishing every other mission with six core characters, I finally faced up to my hatred of Aurora Glade. Way back, with my first character, I had so many failed attempts at this mission that I walked to HoD instead and vowed never to set foot in Aurora again.
Well, I'm never going to get a Protector title without it, so in I popped the other evening - 2 seconds to join a pug (monk ) and 15 minutes or so later mission and bonus complete
Orange Milk
ToPK
start
6 guildies and 2 others
4 b/p (I was one of these)
1 fire ele
1 monk
2 necro
lost the two others and 1 guildie by the time we got to part 3
2 b/p
1 fire ele
1 monk
1 orders necro
We thought we would see how far we could get like that
It took alot of stratagy and several many candy canes and well over an hour but we completed the last to areas and got the greens.
The Necro the ele had NEVER done ToPK before and the other B/P had never finished it.
It was a rush indeed to win like that, I still have the Elswyths Longbow I got as a drop on that run

Henching the Aurora Glade mission and bonus for the first time (henched it several times since then--still gives me a thrill).
Henching Elona Reach mission and bonus--I'd always been intimidated by that mission for some reason.
Killing Glint.
Finishing the campaigns.

Was doing villainy of galrath with a party of six, had 3 warriors and basically the rest of the group was like ?%$#?$%? SO MANY TANKS. They sticked around and it took us about an hour to finally get to the base of the mountain that galrath was on(fighting almost all the mobs along the way), but there were like 30+ monsters directly in front of the path that leads up. So we just decided to charge in and see who survives. Well, it was none other than myself and another tank, he was DP'ed to 60 so i took out the bandits, and we both killed Galrath together. Back then 4000XP was worth dying for, but I don't think I'll ever do this quest again since I'm spoiled by Factions

The first time I did the Leroy Jankins mission in SF. I love to do new adventures in new lands and this was just mindless fun. I laugh so much during that mission. Wasn't that much fun afterwards.
Sir Skullcrasher
Beating the Final Assault mission inside Sorrow Furnace. We went in there with 8 men team but when we killed all the bonder, the fire dijnn (SP?) came out to fight. We actually got half the team wiped out but the monk did some quick ressing to get us back and we did the bundle up trick to avoid the massive damage from their attacks. After that we won and took screen shots of our victory.

Anyways, my most memorable was doing my first run with LBS (way before I was a grad), and got compliments from the biggest grump in GWs, Oreos on my monking! I was so happy to hear that LBS grads thought I was a good monk. This is back when I was a noob and running Heal other without energy mngment... That, and a few months later, getting my first FoW armor on my awesomeness monk Lord Sojar! Best DAY EVER!

me and my friend still were quite noobs to guild wars so we were exploring Kryta (this is before we looked at completed maps) and we found ToA and fishermans haven. Eversince fishermans has been my favorite toen because i accidently discovered it. Exploring was probably the most fun I had in Guild Wars. When I got to ToA I didnt realize that giving 1k to champion of balthazar would tkae you somewhere I thoguht I was purchasing a quest. So me and my friend were in FoW and we saw level 24's and level 28's and couldnt imagine how anyone could kill just one of these things! We just ran around and died, was quite exciting. I miss the good old days when I didnt know how to play good and everything was so new. No I solo parts of FoW, it makes me sad
Eviance
I have a couple... First time that I went to FoW. I had met a great person while capping and he messaged me later that night asking if I wanted to FoW with him and his guild... I said I had never been, but that I would prefer it if my husband and brother could come along since we were virtually inseperable. They asked one of their guildies to step out so that we could all go together.
(My brother and I had been the only ones to venture into FoW before and we did it with just the two of us, because we were insanely curious lol and died so fast lol.)
Anyways the first two tries went bust from the start, but on the 3rd try we had it going on so nicely! One of their guild was down there to get his armor so we had to make it to the forge master. We got the dragons killed and took the book quest... OMG we spent almost 2hrs in that area because the skeleton rangers had some serious agro on the two people left alive. When 5 of 8 of us were dead and too far in the guild we were with said, crap we might as well start over there is no way!
Our bipper/nuker >_> my brother rezzed the closest monk which was the ONLY one not in agro range, my brother would then run in and hold agro for a few so that someone could be rebirthed out - on and on this went because the skeleton rangers would start giving chase from the other side of the compass.... Running in and out over and over and just... oye, but we managed it. The guild we were with were so impressed that we managed it and that we didn't give up. We eventually not only made it to the forge master and got that guys armor, but went on to clear the forest and such. Anytime they went to FoW they kept spots open for us and any of our guildies that wanted to go.
Their guild sorta fell apart after the Factions bomb as most of their guildies left for other online games =/
The other most memorable moment was when were were flung to the second to last round of halls we were allowed to hold the podeum till the last few mins when the onslaught came. I was trapping and managed to keep almost everything at bay but then we all died as did our ghostly but no one managed to cap the podeum after us so we were flung to halls for the first time as a guild. That is where we faced Prez and another guild/group. Prez saw our guild rank of 9000+ and went OOOH EASY TARGET! They charged us with everything they had and even though we couldn't kill them, they couldn't kill us either. The next thing we knew they were trying to get us to help them kill the other team so we could battle it out lol. Needless to say Prez held that round but only because of spellbreaker on the ghostly. Both our team and the other team were heavy on magic, but it was a great feeling to know that we didn't totally suck and that we held our own so well.
*sighs* good times!

When i was doing hell's precipe on my warrior. I joined a PuG and we left.We had 2 warriors,3 rangers,1 mesmer and 2 monks. Just as we got to Rurik one of our monks had to go!. We were dying and we barely made it. Once we killed rurik the mesmer and the warrior left. So we has 1 warrior (me) 3 rangers and one monk. We carried on thinking we'll fail. Once we got to the lich our monk died and left. So only me and 3 other rangers were left. We ran back, regained our health and kicked the lich's butt.
I also have a picture of us finishing the mission....
I also have a picture of us finishing the mission....
saphir
i have a few..
1. When everything was new and unknown in the land known as Tyria I accepted a quest from a guy after reaching the magnificent city of Lion's Arch. Kill this Galrath guy for 500 xp? Can't be all that hard right?!
Joined up w/ a 6 person group of lvl 14-15's and off we went. I was quite fortunate that this group had already made 1 or 2 attempts already, and we had a ranger who knew the way and taught us all the concept of pulling patrols in the iron curtain. What began as a simple adventure turned into a 2 1/2 to 3 hour quest across 4 zones I had not yet explored (I don't think any of us knew about TOA at that point). It was exciting and dangerous, w/ the danger quite real of a complete party wipe as Draknor runs did not yet exist, no one had high end armor, weapons or elite skills. Runners offering their services were not rampant in towns. Our humble little party had no lvl 20's helping us out. I think we even had a lvl 11 necro who kept dying =)
We destroyed those fast moving necrid horseman patrol one by one, the threat of death by chain lightning constantly hanging over our heads. We actually worked our way thru what I now know to be the more difficult path thru the Iron curtain zone, past the bone dragons, popping nightcrawlers and poisonous swamps. When we finally emerged victorious on top of the little hill that Glarath calls his castle, we were so elated that we all got naked, danced and took many screenshots. And then a few weeks later they changed it to a 4000 xp quest =)
2. Completely clearing UW. A 5 hour run, the 3rd or 4th attempt I had been on w/ some pug players I met in our attempt to clear UW. We cleaned our way to the chaos planes and on our second attempt at it, completed the Four Horseman quest successfully. It was craziness. Then proceeded to clear out the rest of the monuments and finish Unwanted the hard way =) Now that I know all the back routes and ideal sequence to clear, I still can't believe we did it that way. We searched in vain for Gwen, our reward chest of ecto's or the ever elusive UW armor crafter. In our disappointment we slaughtered all 6 spider pets =) I'm still glad I managed to stay up until 9am for that UW clearing run!
3. Yak's Bend arenas - Me on my lvl 15 mes, w/ 2 warriors on my tail. Everyone else dead, no one w/ a res sig left. The other warrior is at 1/3 hp and I burden the full hp one, then quickly finish him off the weaker. The last warrior at full hp, sporting elites and armor that he shouldn't be wearing starts poking me w/ his big pointy stick. Everyone spamming me to just die (even my own team, gee, thx guys..) as I charge up my hp and energy. Once my skills are recharged I turn to face him and take him town after a good fight. Most memorable words from my own w/mo teammate who repeatedly called for my death, "OMFG!"
I love plague touch lol
4. More recently, I finally decided to create the only class I've never played, the ever beloved warrior =)
Been leveling thru Shing Jea arenas. It was down to me and an assasin, both of us lvl 10 and about evenly matched, although unforunately he had a poison skill and his plague touch rendered my conditions useless. Both out of res sig, timer going on 8 minutes and it was obvious that we were at a stalemate. Decided to risk taking the battle into the miasma area w/ 5 degen on both of us since I was getting a bit bored and figured it would end quicker there. I Interrupted his shadow refuge and won the match w/ still half my hp =)

Phantom Gun
I was on the last Tyrian mission "Hell's Precipice", with my canthan mesmer. It's the only character I've beaten both games with. Well on the hell's precipice mission I had been in several groups that day trying to beat it. After several trys I decided to give it one more go before I left and did someting else. I ended up with a pretty good group set up. Acouple monks, a few tanks, a few rangers, and an ele.
Well about a quarter of the way into the mission both of our monks leave, then one of our warriors, then one of our rangers. So it was me, a warrior, an ele, and a ranger left. We stopped and had a little bit of a rant, then for some reason we continued on with only 4 of us. Nobody even suggested it this just happened. So we take out the bonus and eventually reach the end of the mission with some careful teamwork. Had to kill the last boss acouple times but in the end, we beat the mission and in disbelief that it was just four of us with no monks "with the exception of our secondary proffesions". So we did our woots and hurrays and that was it. But that was the most memorable moment I ever had in guild wars.

Mine would be the night that I joined my first guild. Had my ranger in Yaks Bend and was bored so I went into the arena. got in a couple of groups that won 1 or 2 times and then I got into an awesome group. Many hours later we were all well above the level that you could get into the arena since we leveled up so many times. After seeing that it was our group that they were fighting people would ask us what win we were up to, so we would tell them and then beat the snot out of them!
At the end of the run we had 189 consecutive wins! That was a great night and we all ended up joining the guild that one of the guys had already set up. Still don't know what happened to that guild since one day i logged on and found that I had been kicked out along with many of the others in the guild. Anyways, that is still my most memorable moment in GW.

Killing glint for time, realising how easy it was :P
Getting masters in Eternal grove with 6 ppl, no tanks 1 a monk.
Id'ing gold and getting high priced runes like sup vig and sup abs(back in the day when it was worth a lot, I got one)

Sunijang district, 2-3 days after release. Every pug I entered failed. Took me about 6 tries, with a party of 5 monks (including me), 1 warrior and rest henchies. Everybody there was in the district, and nobody wanted to leave 1 out. It still was 1 hell of a battle. Took us about 40 minutes I believe.
So weird, since I was quite experienced back then, but when I do it now, it's incredibly easy with henchies.
felt so great then, to get into cavalon. It was my "task" to get to cavalon asap, to get our guild luxon so we could get an alliance. Too bad there were like no alliances then, the thing was just fixed, and cavalon was so empty.
