It would be good if there was a weekend where rune drops were increased, or gold rune drops were increased (including Superior Vigor ^^)

'Omg, the mule shits gold' weekend.

A mule stands on a platform in one of the bigger populated towns like droks or LA or maybe kaineng. From time to time the mule shits a gold drop (100-1000g, dyes, other things or whatever) that flies randomly through the area and hits the ground. The first player who picks it up has the prize ofcourse.

Another way would be a chicking that runs around and drops gold eggs or whatever which you can trade in at merchant.

It’s a great way for people with no rank to join a team set up their skills and go for it. It's like the old time golf courses who were exclusionary and let the "other" people play golf for a change. Everyone is now on a somewhat leveled playing field for joining a team.

You would still be able to see rank by checking of the rank thing on titles.

/agree on dye drops and pirate weekend.....ooh, and maybe a parrot on our shoulders!

- Random HA weekend. Just push start button and go HA in random teams (automatically add 2 or 3 monks per random team)
- UW & FoW open for all territories weekend (no need for double drops)
- Double ambar/jade per 1000 factions weekend.
- 15k armor at 7.5k weekend (and 1.5k armor at 750g)
- Special item weekend (any item, only available that weekend, via drop)
- ....
- 6vs6 HA double fame AGAIN
- Double gladiator points AGAIN.
- Repeat all good weekends every 3 months or something.

How about a mirror Town/Zone/Map (ie Ascalon in the West, Maguuma in the east or something to that effect - confusion ftw ^.^)

I dont pvp much, but the RA and TA maps get a bit boring after a while, so how about using Guild Hall maps for them instead? (Good way for normal people to become familiar with newer Guild Halls. If done after Nightfalls release then it'd be a nice way to preview the maps before choosing which to buy)

I didn't read all the pages so don't flame me if I mention something that's been said...

PVE:
Double Salvage Mats weekend? Twice the salvage materials from salvaging and doubled drop rates for the crafting materials for mobs? Twice the chance to salvage the rare material from items?

All That Glitters weekend, double the drop rate of Rubies and Sapphires, make all mobs in Tyria have a chance to drop them, like all mobs in Cantha do...

PVP:
6 man teams in Random Arena/Team Arena, 1.5x faction, or something more akin to the Zaishen medallions?

6 man teams in GVG, some sort of items for winning in GVG? Frozen Ladder during the event?

Co-ordinated Alliance Weekend, you can bring 12 man teams into the Alliance Battles, so you don't get stuck with 8 people who like to go die in a horde instead of cap. One Jadeite/Amber given to each participant for each victory for their side? (that would be almost, but not quite, double faction for victory)

how about a Zombie Infestation weekend?

-Hordes of undead monsters appear in areas at random in groups of no less than 10 but no more than 30.
-If you die more than 10 times to the undead monsters until the weekend ends you earn the title of "Zombie Chewtoy".
-If you kill 200 or more undead monsters until the weekend ends you earn the title of "Bane of the Undead".
-At least 3 undead bosses that drop greens.
-a special Arena(the Isle of the Dead would be cool) where you pit your team against a random number of undead monsters(1-100). Double Faction of course.

-a chance to get a minipet of some undead monster. Zombie Monk is my fav. They're so cute!

That cracked me up.

But actually piles of glittering dust do have a very specific usefulness which can be quite profitable.
Its used in making vellum i think(other materials needed), then resselling to player market.
You might make a sweet profit off of it if you work with big quantities.

Anyway back on topic.
Anet no more weekly events please!
I dont want to actually start missing good events because the common ones gave them bad fame, and made me preconceptuous.

Haven't gotten a chance to see the more recent suggestions, so excuse me if this is a double post...

Name Change Weekend: Every character on your account gets ONE, and only ONE, name change, which, if not used, expires after the weekend is over. This would allow people who named their characters poorly to fix them (for instance, I named one of my characters The Big Six Hundred, when everyone else is called Relambrien something).

Although there is the argument of scammers using it, it would only work once, so it's not like it would have severe repercussions. (sp?)

All your characters become UBER fat and have a 250 stack of cakes in their inventory. You must eat a cake every five minutes, or you get knocked down. You move 25% slower and take 25% less damage.

I reckon a PvE event in which some ridiculously high level monster like a new glint but lvl 38 or something, give it unreal skills like Shiro, give it allied minions and such.
It's a one time only. Someone kills it, its gone.
Person who kills it gets a *weak* skill based on either their first or surname (you can choose).
youd end up with a Galrath Slash kind of thing.
example: ill use my character's surname "Barrows" and being a necromancer it might go along the lines of:
10 energy - 20 second recharge - 3 second cast time
Barrows Revival. Raise 2 lvl 10 (curses 12) Smoke Phantoms as minions.

Basically the reward is being remembered
