Where should I preorder Nightfall?

This question might have already been asked, but it's late, and I'm tired. So please help.

I need a reliable internet store where I can peorder Nightfall. A store which wont let me down and will send me the pre-order package when it's MEANT to be sent. Not when the actual game comes out...

When I was pre-ordering Factions, I got many gray hairs with that whole ordeal.... (jk)
I pre-ordered from amazon.com and what they did is sent me an e-mail that everything is fine. Then, they waited unltill there was only like 4 days left untill the pre order tengu mask event, and sent me a letter which can only be summatized as something like this:

"Buddy... You're f*_k%d... We know we told you that you'd get your pre-order, but there's a delay. So basically you are getting your pre-order a week after the actual game is released"

I was furious... I wrote them a very angry letter, where I bitched and ranted like crazy... I told them that the whole point of a pre-order package is that you get it BEFORE the actual game!!! I told them that this is not how serious business is done.

For some unexplained reason the letter actually worked, and they sent me the pre-order via 1 day air which arrived one day before the pre-order event.
Still, they told me that there's nothing they can do about the actual game and it's set to arrive a week after it's released everywhere in the stores.
Mabe it would arive earlier somehow, but I didnt want to take my chances.
I got my tengu mask, then I said f%&k it, and cancelled my order.
I then went to Best Buy and got my game 2 days after it's release date.
Everyone I knew in GW already had their Factions at that time due to pre-ordering from other stores.

Anyhow... Sorry for writing so much but I needed to vent. lol
If you know a store which didnt let you down when you were ordering Factions, and you got your pre-order on time, let me know.
Also does it matter if you order via "ground" shipping or a faster method?
Which one did you choose?

I preordered and got Factions from a "real-life" store. It's the only sure fire way as you can moan and whine about if it doesn't get shipped every day to them until it comes.

I would go to Amazon.com, its cheaper! Shipping is fairly similar to anywhere else, but the prices at amazon are cheaper! (From what I remembered at gamestop anyways)

www.gamestop.com is doing free 2 day shipping for ten more hours. I would overnight it though...

I pre-ordered Factions from Amazon.com as well. It was only my second thing ever ordering offline so I was a little nervous. (The first item was three DVDs: the Trigun series, which came in perfectly well, and even a day early.) So after that I thought I could buy my pre-order package from them too.

I nervously placed my order and waited anxiously until they said the approx arrival time. The time said it would be days after Factions was released!! WHAT??!? I thought this was supposed to be a PRE-order!? Turns out that is just an average or a guess on when it will arrive. Reguardless, I called them and talked to their surprisingly good customer support and they basically said they can't ship the game because they don't have the supplies. Anet didn't (Or whoever ships them) ship them until the day before the game released. How does that work, why would they wait to ship to online stores on a package that is supposed to get there BEFORE the game releases? Did they assume the companies would magically deliver thousands of pre-orders within a few hours?

In the end, they took off my shipping charge and sent it next-day mail. I got it on the day of Factions release. Luckily for me and people with similar problems, GuildWars smartly extended the bonus days.

Hopefully they fix those problems next time.

I don't know if I will use Amazon again or not. The problem is, I want the pre-order for the stuff, but there is no store near me which does pre-orders for Guild Wars!

Heh... It's funny how they tell you they cant do it... But when you call them or you e-mail them they do it after all... Amazon is a great company for books, DVDs, and the like. But I will NEVER order games from amazon ever again, unless it's a game that has been out for a long time before I order.

For the guy that said to use a "real life" store... Well that's good advice, but having something delivered to your house sure beats driving to the store which is like 30 miles away, and standing in line for a long time(with my SA that's particulary hard).

Guess I'll try gamestop this time.

i just do it the easy, went to BB when it opened, got the game then, then later bought the CE and i was fine. Also did get the pre-order from the store, went in their the day it was realised and i was happy.

I orginal went to EBgames and let just say i won't be going back their ever to pre-order a game.

will you be able to preorder it from the guildwars store that they added a few weeks ago? Cause if you can, then I'll be getting it there.

I'd say amazon as well, best online store imo (be better if they had more option like american site tho) only let me down once when some CD's never showed..got a full refund+a few extra quid for compensation.

Anyways preordered mine due to get it on release day ship 26th paid extra for next day delivery

I ordered the preorder package from Amazon.com and got it 2 days later (a month or longer before the tengu event)

I will not be doing the same with Nightfall probably because Amazon says they dont know WHEN they'll get the bonus packs in.

Theres a store called outpost.com that has nightfall for $39.99 special offer, and it lists the contents of the Bonus pack, but I wouldnt order there because it doesnt SPECIFICALLY state "with Bonus Pack" on the normal edition (it does for collectors) so you'd probably get screwed there unless you are going for Collectors.

Gamestop/Eb (They are the same store BTW) doesn't include the Bonus Pack with their $49.99 Preorder, you have to up it to the $54.98 preorder to get the Bonus Pack (they are basically making you PAY the 5 bucks for the pack).

I"m personally waiting a few days to give Amazon a chance to get the Bonus Packs in - Then I'll break down and buy from Gamestop if I want the normal, or Outpost if I want the Collectors (havent decided).

I preordered before I saw any "combo deals" so I get my CE from Gamestop, overnight shipping...

And I preordered the presale kit from amazon. Just checked the status of my amazon order today and it now says there is a delay in my order and its NEW arrival date will be around the 28th. Great.

Screw amazon. You cant count on them for anything. Now im gonna miss out on my super cool spear for the weekend event. Its the principle of the matter, you know.

I Remember seeing someone on the forums say you get a extra Char Slot if you pre-order it from certian Stores Anyone know which, or if thats even true at all..

HOW did you preorder the bonus from Amazon, they aren't even selling it yet, its still "not available" and their support says they dont know WHEN they'll get it in, if ever!

Hole Sale Traps - It isnt from certain stores, thats from ANY store, its part of the key.

I always just go to Bestbuy cause they always have it when I go.

Does best buy carry the preorder package on sept 15th?
i.e. ican i buy it in stores or is a mail order only type of thing. If the stores do carry it i might buy just for the 14 day free trial (my birthday is a week after october 27th) so the preorder would tide me over and i could let my parants buy me something. jsut to be nice..

They've always had it in store. What has me concerned is that the Bestbuy website lists the release date for the bonus pack listed as Sep. 24. I'm going to see if they have it in tomorrow and then I can let you know. lol

Went into my local Gamestop and reserved and pre-paid for 2 copies of Nightfall. Basically all I have to do is go in and pick them up.

I had a similar ordeal ordering online. They told me the pre-order was "delayed" and that I'd get it AFTER the event was over. As a result I missed the tengu event.

I've learned my lesson this time. When it comes to pre-ordering software... you're ALWAYS better off going to a real live store. At least when Gamestop tells me they over-booked and there aren't any copies left, there's a real live person I can bitch at (as opposed to a non-respondable e-mail address from some corporate megamonster)

I went to a Best Buy this morning here in New York, and they didn't have the prerelease for Nightfall yet. I got 2 different answers of when they will have it from 2 different people, so I'm not trusting them just yet. Might check out Gamestop or EB tomorrow after work.

In Chicago, Gamestops doesn't know when they'll have it. Best Buy says it's the 24th. Just as any release date, it's ALWAYS a week later at BB (I say that beause it happens ALL THE TIME with anime releases). Circuit City doesn't know jack about it. So it seems they all dropped the ball again and this pre-release party on the 22nd will happen without most US retailers even having the pre-release disc for sale.

Posted already in another thread, Best Buy and EBgames do not have the bonus pack in store today (at least not the stores in Chelsea here in NYC).

Best Buy do not offer a CE of Nightfall, or am I wrong?
Would like to buy both, bonus and CE (and in store).

EB--- they don't know what's different between preorder and prerelease.
I don't want to take the risk , so I went home empty hand.
Anyway, I still can have my TW vision : After 10% off, the price=US$35 and get magic cards.

Right after the pre-release bonus pack was announced, Amazon did have it listed as available. I think the price was around $5, but I'm not sure. Don't know why it went to unavailable. Usually Amazon is great, and I had no problems whatsoever with them over the Factions pre-order pack.

I also ordered mine from amazon, i have never had a problem with them so far. I went with the next day also plus i got the prima guide not sure why though cause i never ordered it before. Hopefully they will do the same thing with nightfall as they did with factions, give us a little time to play if our games are backed up. CE also. Mine says the 27 though with the next day shipping.

Heres the beef:
EBgames said with Factions that all of their Bonuses with preorders and such are ONLINE EXCLUSIVES unless it is posted specifically otherwise in their store.

This screwed my friend big time. EBgames said they couldn't give him a preorder pack because he preordered in the store. They said AND I QUOTE (this is so stupid): "If you want any bonuses, cancel your preorder with us and go to our website and preorder"

This might be the case with Nightfall too, would explain the lack of them in the stores.

NEW NEWS:
EBgames support. Said two things when I asked about bonus pack shipping:
1) Would be shipped "as it becomes avialable" with no gaurentee's that it'll come before the game
2) That I could be charged Shipping TWICE, once for them shipping the Prerelease pack, and Once when they ship the actual game.

they had the prerelease yesterday when I went out....best buy didnt so they have lost my business for good......and eb/gameslop....after factions I will NEVER do business with them again......I will wait until the copy hits the stores and then buy it, got screwed big time on pre-ordering fractions so I wont do that again.
So try the off beat like fry's or circuit city.....heck maybe even target will get it before best buy!
(best bet is the online gw store, if they have it).
