Event Update: A small delay

Same problem here, my brother in the next room has just created a character yet mines still grayed out. Copied over his dat file and I still can't create a character

Gwen, I fully understand that there are physically different boxes around, but you don't assign x people to x box, it would be inefficient. It would make sense to me that in logging on and updating we all pass through the SAME server, even though mission run 12489 of THK is running on a different server. Perhaps there are two login servers to handle the load, but it still doesn't make sense that in updates we are so very far behind everyone else.

Yeah... about that. Still no files for me.

Uhm... anyone might feeling like telling me why my first account is NOT allowed to login while my second account can log in to Nightfall? They're both Prophecies + Factions oO

To anyone having problems, try different accounts if you have. For some strange reason some of your accounts might just not be allowed in.

I could also not get in but i found after switching to a character logging out the logging back in that the box was no longer greyed, it may be that the client is taking its time to unlock it or switching to character then logging out then in works.

Finally I able to create a new char in Nightfall and for thse asking/ saying to enter the key from the Official site if you have a standard account (Prophecies or Factions) and an open slot, You dont need the Key. Im in Georgia, USA btw.

I have done everything Gaile has said as well and still can't create an Elonian char either. Sitting on the Euro servers.

What's this? I've been a player since 1 day before release, I should be on the mother of all servers! But no update for me yet Wheeeeeee! Ah well, have to go to work now, so I will see this mess when I get back, or not...:S

I haven't even got the bloody interface to create a character yet, Gaile what the hell is going on? PLEASE!!

dang... 90% of the alliance are alrdy playing... im not.. still grayed out.. hope it will be aviable for all soon (eu server)

Dunno about you guys, but update for me was very small, few MB and i can play Nightfall without problem

I was able to get in, but my wife wasn't able to.

Of course she was upset by this.

Then I had an idea. I tried to add the access key to her account that allows those without previous accounts to enter the event, even though she already had an account.

It worked.

Those that haven't got access yet may want to try this.

Now as I said I have 2 computers and 2 accounts. I can access Nightfall on one account on both computers. My other account cant access Nightfall on any computer

I'll keep this under one topic, but anyone who was playing in NF have you been kicked from the server? Just about five mins ago I was playing in NF and then boom everything stopped and I d/c from the server. Now I can't log into GW at all. It just keeps sitting on the Connecting... window and now I got error window that says "Guild wars was unable to connect to any login server" however it not due to my end, I checked Final Fantasy Online and RO and both I can get into just fine >.> So anyone having trouble with GW?

I'm enjoying the Paragon so far...I might have to make a PvE character when the game launches. :P

Hmm my extra account now has access to the nightfall event but my main one with the pre-release pack on it still doesn't, Same for my friend her account with the pre-release code on it still won't allow her access to the event. Is there a glitch or somthing that isn't allowing those with teh pre-release pack added to not gain access or somthing?

I just DLed a small patch from Anet as I logged in for the first time today. My comupter shut down Guild Wars and began repairing data archive. I think, "okay something glitched". Ran through the repair process and...it starts again.

I'm currently on my thrid "Repairing Data Archive" window. Each time Guild Wars attempts to connect, it shuts down the load process and starts ramping up my hard drive.

Virus and Spyware scans read nil. Other programs on the drive are operational. No need to defrag at this time when checked. Drefragged anyway (WTH?). No go.

Did this "corruption" thing get out? If it cycles again, I gotta delete my DAT file, a lengthy (all day DLing) process for a game with this many updates and patches.

UPDATE: fourth times the charm. Deleting DAT file. Something over here just got seriously messed up Anet. Check your code.

UPDATE2: core DAT DLed and GW can run again. I'll have to DL the rest later (as in I have 4000+ files to go just to load the character); Nightfall info is working so far. I'd still like to know what the heck just happened though...

UPDATE3: I'm noticing 2 other people complaining about glitches. If you're having the same problem I describe above(NOT it repaired, loaded and ran, but repaired, and repaired, and repaired...), I think the only fix is to do what I did. Go to My Computer; click the drive GW is in and choose program files. Follow the tree to GW and open. You should see something called "DAT file". You have to delete that; Nightfall just bitch slapped your Prophecies and Factions info. Restart GW and re-DL the file. NOTE: This is a lengthy process and will take upwards of an hour just to loadinto the game again. To restore the entire file will take a VERY long time with DSL; impossibly long for dial-up users. EX: I started restoring the DAT file @12:30pm EST. at 2:00pm EST, I am now 70% ready to load my character into the game population. Thats at 500k DSL.

CAUTION: This is advice form an non-Anet source. If you don't trust it, don't take it. Submit a support ticket and wait for an NCSoft representative to get to you or hope someone from Anet responds to this issue in-forum with instruction on how to repair the problem.

UPDATE4: GW servers have shifted my priority down and I can no longer DL at full speed (max speed data recieved is 126k/average DL speed is 67k. Ping plotter confirms: this is a bottleneck at Anet). I won't put the server IP down because a mod might decide to delete this post (TMI to other users). I'm East Coast American, NC; backtrack and I'm running from that hub.

ok, i can create the PvP elonian characters now, but it's weird, it seems i cannot access the dervish and paragon skills... it only shows the skills i've unlocked for the secondary profession...

can someone enlighten me on this?

EDIT: it's ok now, i just need to change the skills when i press K once i've logged onto the character

UPDATE and bump: 3:45 EST recieved new update from Anet. Client was not prompted to repair data archive at this time.

I cant access nightfall with my main acccount, the pic is greyed out, but when i log into my secondary it can click the nightfall pic and i can start making chars... so even tho i can still play im quite worried as to why my main cant do it, probably going to mean future problems of some sort. i could only imagine.
