I am at 9.2, I swear I think I missed an entire explorable area or something, because I know I haven't uncovered some tight places but those small places don't give more than .3% so I am totally dumbfounded.

You know what, nevermind. I quit. I'm at 99.6% and it's getting ridiculous. I don't need to waste my life away getting this done. This is BS.

There's nothing special to get that area, especially if you're doing it from the fully explorable side and not the mission side.
My thought is it's an area YOU'VE explored but the texmod map has not (seen ALOT of that).
Have you tried my method yet?

Look at the 'prison' area to the right of the fortress (specifically, the area underneath it).
This is why I don't like that particular texmod program that draws the lines. It uses it's OWN 100% map, and that map is FAR from complete.
However, no clue what causes that particular spot to open soooo far south. Maybe cutscenes?

I've hit a dead end myself, I've been at 99.9% for a few days now and I can't think of where to go. I've tracked the edges, hugged the walls, ate the ice cream yet no satisfaction... the only place I haven't got is the right side of the Fortress of Jahai which a lot of people seem to be having problems with but everyone I know in my guild that has the title has that part uncovered which has got me scratching my head. Here's my map at 1280*1024.
*edit* Didn't realise it was now closed for maps so I've removed the map but it is frustrating how I've scrapped to hell and back and can't find any other place other than Johai Fort...

I cannot seem to break 98%. I've hugged every single wall it feels, and uncovered all the commonly missed areas.

I'm the same, guys. I'm hopelessly stuck at 99% and have nowhere to go. I've done the challenge mission, hugged every wall, uncovered all the commonly missed areas. I don't know what to do. ARG! The worst thing is, not only am I 1% away from grandmaster cartographer, I'm 1% away from KOABD and Legendary Cartographer as well

I've been getting the same error message from VirtualDub as Petra Arkanian.
"variable not found"
I have the correct script needed (checked and re-checked. Including file extensions and paths), and I have AviSynth installed.
Yet every time I go into VirtualDub and hit "File" -> "Run Script..." I get that error message. Actually, I should mention that the .avs script doesn't appear in the Load Window to begin with. I have to go over and click "All files" in the drop menu for it to come up.
Now, I don't know about Petra Arkanian, but could the fact that I'm running Vista be hindering my progress?

YES! Is THAT what's causing it? Such an easy fix (but you know how THOSE are.. they end up being the ones I miss the most).

thanks again for all your help and for bothering to point out this post to me.
Thx Spacepuree, don't know quite what you said to solve it but I have tried the new instructions and it works beautifully (no I am not running vista).
I had given up on this method and compared the texmod maps by eye to finish elona but I can see there is an awful lot of pink left, much of it (including the area below the prison pointed out by Asrial above) seems inaccesible to my char - but I never did have the patience to watch the cutscenes.

1) How can I get to the following areas?
For the moment, only Elonian born characters can access this area, and part of it can only be reached through the tutorial.
If i was born in Elona , dont know this for my tittle .. can i get back and do it ?
