Ok, I'd like to let anyone (Warriors) interested in joining 1v1 pvp ladders in attempt to make some cash, and compete for the best stats that there is such a place. There are currently three ladders: 1k entry, 5k, and 10k, with grand prizes from 10k, to 25k, to a min of 40k (unsure on official prize of 10k ladder sorry). One of my favorite times is the rare instance when a RA match starts and most or all of the people are melee. If there is a caster, usually they are floored in seconds. No one brings proper skills to counter this, so it's brute force which wins. One TA match I remember, it was a 4v4 of all warrior, of all types of melee weapons. Never seen a better Earth Shaker + Aftershock since!
This would be a cool idea, except, everyone would be so defensive in their skills, it wouldn't really be a test of skill, but timing on getting your riposte to hurt.
Further more on the 1v1 idea, Necros and Mesmers aside, it's basically fair, knowing your opponent or not.

We used to play 2vs2 warrior duels in my old alliance, with no defensive stances/ripostes. It was pretty fun, people started abusing their secondary to gain an edge.

Theoretical question (I don't like duelling): Wagers = I want to win at all costs = I'll put my fair play in a closet = I'll shamelessly use the most degenerated strategies to win (including griefing). Is that ok?

there are 3 things that can tottaly shut down a warrior, Hex's, Enchantments, and Conditions (Reckless Haste, Take your pick of enchantment, Blind)
So you need to fix some hex counters, Some Enchant Rips, and Some condition Removal
But an evade stance will also screw you over, so we need a Stance remover, lets choose wild blow
We'll Need some healing as well
but hang on a moment, you cant remove hex's AND remove Conditions, AND remove Enchants with one single class
in other words you can only build to counter a few of DPS/Conditions/Tank/Hex/Enchant/Stancer

Somehow I think that this would just end up in a bunch of warriors relying on their secondaries and have a bunch of anti melee casting warriors or warriors running with Illusionary Weaponry, lol. Better yet you could have a W/R using Apply Poison, shooting one shot to poison then running around in circles with running skills.

Guild Wars is not meant for 1 vs 1 so victory is pretty much based on luck which one has better counter skills.

ANet is adding the 1+3 v 1+3 arena in Nightfall and in all honesty even that feels lame. This game wasn't meant to be played with a solo mentality.

Ok well like it was said if you dont like the idea and think its lame then there is no need for you to post here, this was just to let people know that we were setting this up for those who do like 1v1 duals... it isn't like i'm saying this is the best thing since sliced bread it was an idea we came up with in order to add something else to the game people enter the ladder and have a chance to win some cash hopefully while having fun. they also can compete for the best stats, read our paper that's updated daily (if possible), and just make some new friends on the game.

Ok riposte isn't the only thing not allowed but honestly that really doesn't matter what skills are allowed or not it's just some rules to try to make the fights a little more interesting... and why not try copy and pasting the web address? or typing it in there? if you really wanted to check it out there are ways to do it through commonsense so dont complain about it I gave you the address and the 1 step to get to the exact same page so figure it out.

more than we ever thought it would be and then some. Now ive got 3 other awesome guys helping me out on this that ive known for a while now. These guys are bustin there asses on this until early morn, just so we can make this possible to give players somthing new to do, and for the people that enjoy doing this yet have never had a way of doing so before. Also keep in mind that yes it is warrior vs warrior for now but we gotta start small for what we have to work with atm, so soon enough we will expand the classes allowed. 1 vs 1 warrior tourneys are simply to weed out those that want to go pure offense. Any skilled warrior can make a 1 vs 1 battle last for 30+ minutes - warriors simply cannot generate enough offense to get past the stances + enchantments + hexes that a properly built warrior can generate. The above is an example of that, but could be tweaked to fill in the holes.

If I may make a suggestion: you need to ban all secondary class skills, otherwise no match will ever end. And yes, since it's Warrior vs Warrior, everyone will bring PvE builds, which means riposte, vigorous spirit and healing hands. Defensive stance and wary stance are useless, shield stance is overpowered, and riposte is already banned, so maybe you should just ban everything except attack skills. That will at least be straightforward.
