Whenever any major changes come about, people leave and people threaten to leave. I've been playing GW since May 2005, and I've seen plenty changes that I didn't like, and still the stuff I DO like is great enough to keep me going. Not all change is bad, and sometimes what seems bad at first winds up being a good thing.

This coupled with the high demand for these based on their impressive looks are the factors contributing to their high prices.
So, what would change then?

Chaos Axe's still wont drop in Ascalon nor will Zodiac weapons drop in Bukdek Byway. The only difference will be that getting a white/blue/purple wont be such a bad thing, a perfect Zodiac will still fetch a lot of money from people with neither the time or the inclination to farm for one.

Crystalline's will still be as rare as always, the skins wont be more readily available then before so all that would be adjusted is the value of so-called godly items. Yes, those could very well drop significantly but on the other, the value of white Zodiac could well go up dramatically.

Anyway, what it all comes down to is this; GW will change, it has before and it will again. If those changes mean you dont want to play GW anymore, so be it, its a natural progression. Others will take your place, thats not meant in any way denigrating or demeaning, its just a fact of life.

I've lost quite a few people from my friends list from the day I've started, others have taken their place, its almost like real life

That sounds to me like teenagers comparing penis sizes, the value of the skin is what you make it, I'd feel embarrassed walking around with a crystalline sword and imho only total dickheads pay 700K to look that stupid

I actually prefer the katana skin and you know what? I see that less then fellblades so by your reckoning that katana should be much higher valued yet anyone can buy one for a few K at Kaineng Center.

In other words, the whole argument is specious and silly.

That statement is sad, but it's not silly. When I say "you" in that statement, I don't mean myself, or you, or anyone, I meant the community. Two swords have same mods, why one cost more than the other? because most people prefer brute sword over katana? why prefer brute sword over katana? think about it, people sell rare skin for 100+xx because there are people buying them. There are alot of people people that just like to farm to get their rare skin or fow to show off. Why eliminate their drive? If you're an casual pver/pvp player like me, why do you prefer a rare skin that you cannot afford? use greens/collectors, make pvp only chars! My statement is toward those who are currently saving up/working for a rare skin weapon of their dream. They're supporting the inscription because they think they can get their rare skin weapon for cheap. But when they realized that they wont be any happier because the weapon of their dream weapon has lost value. If you are a casual player who thinks that you can access to every skin for cheap, please consider what others have done to have access to those rare skins. And those who wants a rare skin to show off will be dissapointed. Base on the fact that people sel and buy weapons for alot more than a green with same stat, it is save to say that the majority of the gw players who cares about skin prefer weapons base on rarity instead of personal peference.

Do you realize how many rare skin weapons with bad or imperfect inherent mods are sold to merch everyday? not anymore, people are hording them now. People are hording 15^50 bad skins item now. With that combination, the supply will increase dramatically. with no change in demand, the price will drop alot. Rare 15^50 is not rare anymore.

Fifteen Over Fifty [Rare]

Guild Wars is coming to an end exactly like it did after:

The AoE update/nerf.
The Warrior armor "nerf".
The 55 monk nerf.
The double-enchanting axe nerf.
The Rockmolder nerf.
The EoE nerf.
The Rit Lord nerf.
Many other nerfs I can't think of off the top of my head.

Which is to say, it's not ending at all. All those "nerfs" made sense, and TBH I don't see why any of them are called nerfs. They all make sense, and fix things that weren't intended to work the way people made them work, yet people claimed "OMG I QUIT" every time. To quote Sherlock Holmes, "Many men have said that, and yet here I am."

As for the inscription debate going on in here, it has it's own thread. It's in the Nightfall forum, because IT'S A NIGHTFALL ISSUE. Have fun talking about it in there. Closed.
