Do you feel pressure to finish Nightfall quickly?
Esprit
Nightfall comes out in about a week (maybe a week exactly depending on your time zone). And most people are looking forward to getting the game.
Do you feel pressured to get through the game quickly?
I know that when Factions came out, Amber and Jade sold for near 6k gold, Ritualist and Assassin runes were expensive, and Greens/Zodiac's/Celestials were hardly the price they are now. Certain quests were exploitable to attain large amounts of faction in a short time. Farming areas in Factions now are like a depleted gold mine compared to what it was at the beginning of the game.
Bosses will be brimming with greens, their chances of dropping a green will probably be higher, though that is unproven, I imagine their green/gold drop rate is signifcantly better at the beginning of the game. I know when I first played through Factions I got more gold drops at the beginning of the game. Some will say it was just luck, but I believe that's not true.
Do you feel like there is economical pressure to rush through the game? To be among the first to get high-level Greens/Golds/Runes to sell at a profit that will not be seen until the next chapter comes out? Max Scythes and Spears will be a premium when the game is released. Or do you want to rush through the game to find that exploitable area Anet was bound to not realize? (Not like anyone will admit to the latter.)
I want to take my time and enjoy the game, especially with a better story line, but a part of my wants to blaze through the game to have a better chance to strike it rich or gain an advantage in PvP with newly capped Elites.
You look in the Nightfall subforum and there are parties forming to beat the game as quickly as possible. I guess some people enjoy the game that way or want the best monetary advantage possible, but in a way it feels like you are blowing away Anet's hard work in a two day run to beat the game.
Do any of you feel similar pressure?

Nope, no pressure at all. I still have two Tyrian chars that were created well before Factions that haven't even progressed past LA yet. I've had 2 chars finish Factions: one Canthan, the other my only Tyrian to have completed Prophesies.
Red
Yes. I want to get Nightfall's version of Factions' req 8 15^50 zodiac bow.
And then I will sell it.
And THEN I can take my time to play through the rest of the game.

No, because as is I barely have enough space for gold. I have 100k on each of my eight characters [2 free slots] and 970k in storage.
Too much gold. :[
Too much gold. :[
SerenitySilverstar
Absolutely not. I'm going to enjoying taking an extensive Tiki tour as I get my Cartographer's title on the way.
VitisVinifera
a bit of self-imposed pressure to get my farming characters (ss necro, war) through, unlock all the towns, and scout for farming targets
for my fun characters (rit, assn, mm necro, rit, ele), none at all......

I wont do what I did with factions (I still havent beaten the game. :P) in Nightfall. Id prefer to have at least compeleted the game in under a month, but I dont think Ill really pressure myself to beat the game in 2 days. It kind of ruins the fun, because youve already seen everything, but you havent looked at the details, and you dont WANT to since you already have seen everything. :O my logic makes no sense.
No, I will not rush through the game, however I will try to beat it quickly.

i plain to take my time, i mean i was the first person in my guild to beat factions but thats because i'm on the most. But ya none what so ever. But i have to say that it is the one of the best b-day weekends i've ever had.

Maybe we can power through at record speed and farm like crazy to get these items together then race to see who can sell the fastest for the most ?
Age
When I do buy it not at all as I still have things to do n Tyria and Cantha it is not a race.
Feminist Terrorist
What Redly said, all the way. I missed out on the high priced items with Factions. I'd love to get an uber item that sells for an uber price, just once.
Zakarr
My main goal is to complete Nightfall as soon as possible and post some screenshots about it in here. Then I refresh my thread every second for couple hours noticing that no one cares and cry myself to sleep.
MadOnion
Yes I feel the pressure so that I can make money, unlock skills and beat the game before most other players.
ChaoticCoyote
I don;t feel any pressure.
In fact, I'm going to take it slow, and avoid message boards and the Wiki at all costs. I may take a month to get through it with a couple of characters.
I couldn't care less what items other people find.

I'll rush through it to prove that my Hero build is indeed the ultimate.
Factions took me exactly a week to complete with my lv. 20 Tyrian Necromancer (I sold the Ceremonial Daggers at the end for a whopping 80k. That felt good). I predict that Nightfall will take me less time, actually, since unlike Factions, there will actually be lots of people at the end-missions: Heroes and Henchmen.
Plus, I'm completely free Friday and Saturday.

No, i rushed through factions in 2 days been regreting it ever since. ill take my time on this one and enjoy it..

To me, the "monetary advantage" is real world money...meaning I get the most gaming hours for my buck. So, I'm taking it sloooow. All side-quests, all bonuses. Probably won't even touch my storage stash, just to artificially lengthen the game.
Big_Iron
No. I'm going to take my time and enjoy the sites.
DeanBB
None whatsoever. I'll undoubtedly create both a Paragon and a Dervish and alternate playing them and also bring all of my existing 5 toons over as well. Add to that going to Tyria or Factions and helping out guildies who don't have Nightfall, assuming there are some - there were some with Prophecies and not Factions.
I'm a slow and steady player, not interested in finishing fast or getting rich so there is little motivation to race through it, I'll just plod along and enjoy the journey.

i got to admit that the economic pressure to finish the game quickly to get the most desirable items and sell them for the most gold is pretty strong. But i'll try to see if i can enjoy the game and get some nice profit too.
Count to Potato
Id rather enjoy the game than make money from it and make another paragon or dervish. Taking time to enjoy the scenery even get some sunspear titles
cosyfiep
nope, dont really care what everyone else is doing. I will go about the game in my own way, in my own time......have been doing do since I got the first chapter and I see no reason to change. I dont care about uber weapons nor finishing first; actually quite the contrary, would rather someone else make the mistakes, post them on wiki or the like and then I can go on without making the same dumb mistakes.......that works better for me!
Sectus
I don't have any economical pressure to rush through the game. But that's just because I have a very little desire in getting rich in GW. I focus on playing the game to have fun, not get rich.
On the other hand, I feel another type of pressure to rush through the game. I'm in a relatively large alliance and I'm afraid someone will randomly spoil half the game as they inevitably rush through the game. But I'm gonna try to play through the game in a normal pace (in my case, which is very slow since I prefer to take all the time in the world).

Cant see the point of rushing through it, going to fully explore pretty much everywhere like I did during the preview as I'd like to see if A-net have been as creative with the explorable areas as they were with Prophecies seeing as it's been done by the same team, unlike Factions which is the biggest piece of boring looking crap I've ever had the misfortune to explore.
Knightsaber Sith
I feel no pressure.
AW Lore
no pressure at all. ill go slow but steady.
QFT, at least for me too anyway, i preffer enjoying the game than getting rich.

my monk will fly trough the capaign, will farm till my eyes bleed, then i can play and listen to story line
JoeKnowMo
I'm going to go very slow. I like the scenery in NF. I like messing with hero builds. I even like getting lost. I took my time through Prophecies and loved it. I rushed through Factions and regretted it. Besides, I'm rich enough to afford stuff for my chars and my heroes, so I'd rather play for fun than in game money.
LifeInfusion
Pressure? Online game?
I'll get back to you when they come out with GWoctorate Degree Edition...
There's a reason why they marketed with no monthly...you pay for the content not the days you log in.

Elonian Grandmaster Cartographer FTW! I'll be seeing the sites at my own pace. =)
Malice Black
No rush.
Oh a GW forum
Remember kids, be cool stay in school, crack is whack, and most of all, "Just say no".
ThunderStruck
I'll be rushing through it with my ele in hopes of finding the next "zodiac weapon craze".
BenO_Under
I couldn't rush through nightfall even if i tried, 7 hours a day during the event and i still didnt finish.
but since im making my monk in nightfall...
but since im making my monk in nightfall...

I'll probably try to rush through the first time, though moreso to keep my PvE char PvP-ready than anything. It's not like I won't have 9 other characters that I'll end up playing it through with..
Kook~NBK~
No rush at all. I don't pressure myself to "be the first to..." or "find that sweet farming spot..." or anything like that. I take my time and enjoy the game, playing it for the sake of having fun.
When everyone rushed through factions when it first came out, it didn't take them long to get bored with the whole thing and complain that the game wasn't long enough. I'm sure that there are a whole bunch of people that are going to fly through Nightfall doing marathon sessions just to brag about how fast they did it. Then, after about a month the "I'm bored! There's not enough to dooo! noise will start showing up from the same people who couldn't wait to get through it. To which I will say; "Boo-hoo."

nah i'll just take my time and see the sites..i might not even get it till i beat factions
Reks
I really have no need to bum-rush through it, and there's like zero pressure. I'm the one who decides my own pace, not the economy.
Angelica
I never felt pressure at all. I'll go slow taking time to get lost as usual, and enjoy the scenary! :P
