bye bye 15% ffs, hod axe

when will unconditional damage weapons get the nerf bat?
O R A N
i hope its mot anytime soon
wren e
won't happen since they are added to the pvp weapon creation screen
lyra_song
the 15% FDS and the HOD were remnants, unnerfed items with imbalanced stats.
the Unconditional weapons will get their turn.

yep, seems inevitable, just there's so few of them and they don't really give an advantage as their owners ain't customised them...but it looks like they will be next.

Good job Anet!! We're finally rid of those unfair items!!

It's a bad thing having rich people get the fun stuff (though i don't wanna start this debate all over in this threat), casual players should not have an unfair advantage simply cuz they weren't able to use glitched/now-deleted items when they were there or are very very rich
Next stop:+15% damage always...was fun knowing you but soon you've got to go
Now if only they got rid of the post searing stuff in pre then I'd be 1 very happy person
(or atleast add bags in pre somewhere *
* )

There is no need to nerf items that only exist in a small amount. Most of the no negs are in the hands of PvE traders not PvP people.

This makes me sad. I will miss my +15 ar HOD bow. I used it all the time and I didn't know anyone else who had one.
Since these items were so rare, I doubt they were too concerned about the balance aspect (they hadn't been for the last two years). I think they were concerned people would try to move the unusual inscriptions to other weapons.

pls stop whining with the" but the rich had ffs 15%"
EVERYONE had its chance at the crafter at that time for an awful cost of 9 gold
geez, blame yer as*
then it was the Hod .... cmon, u r crying cuz u dont have it and on the other hand we got lotsa "stuff isnt the key, only skillz matters in GW"

meh that sucks. wish anet would decide on whether stuff will be nerfed sooner and not well over a yera later knowing full well what they are capable of. Virtually every unconditional weapon's owner I know of does not pvp at a high level so is kinda unfair when they dont really unbalance pvp.

this is ANet's real overall trick...

Witch, kinda off topic but this philosophy shoulda been applied for a lot of things..in real life.

What does this really mean that the game still isn't balanced in favour to PvP?
Malice Black
This game is balanced to the extreme.

everyone can easily be a 'have', since weapons and armors of the same stats (collector/crafter/rare/green) can all have the same stat
it's just the color and skin, and 'gotta have it factor' that differentiates them....not their effectiveness

The casuals will continue to whine that they want their 15^50 req8 rare skins because that group will never truly be satisfied.
The funny thing is that no matter how much the casuals whine to make the playing field even for them, the hardcore players still outplay the casuals in every aspect of the game. I don't see the point in trying to force equality on everyone. I kinda like having rare and unique items out there. Although I never owned a 15%ffs, 55 Axe, 15AL Bow, or 15% unconditional, I still thought it was cool that those uber rare items were out there. I did own a +5nrg HoD sword and pre nerf rockmolder which I spent way too much on since Anet made them practically worthless later.

agreed ... sry but in a way, the "real" gamers are paying cuz of the casuals
like i said, those items are the proof that ANet cant rlly handle their stuff... look back when there were no rune traders? rune salvaging wasnt 100% guaranteed... etc
now everyone ll have more and more same characters, u dont even need to know the game to get a 15>50 rare weapon, price checks, trades, knowing where u can drop this or that ....
all that is now useless, whiners won
FLAWLESS VICTORY
(at least, i wont be surprised if in a few months Charrs ll drop ectos and Crystallines ll be available in Ascalon stores for 5k

back in the day a collectors axe had 15% skill recharge build in, was great for farming, but most people never knew about it, anyhow, got changed to 10% and only a tiny amount of 15% FFS existed in game. 55 hp axe had 25hp inherent mod, add 30hp grip and you had 55hp in one hand.
Malice Black

Oh a GW forum
I'm kinda glad they did it. It's ridiculous that someone can make hundreds of thousands of gold just because they held onto an item they spent what, 100g on?
At least people selling Crystalines earned those drops in a way. Just being a lucky noob who happened to trade some lodestones for a 15% ffs and then becomes rich off it is not how this game or anygame should be.
Cheers Anet.

Well, I hate to see Anerf so inconsequent. Backwhen they changed all the rockmolders (man how I loved that focus on my monk) I felt bad - because I had to carry way more items to do the exact same thing and because my beloved focus was done for... Yet I could understand how much it changed my monkingstyle. I used that bloody thing almost 24/7.
The 15% spitter; I never got to get one in time (true story of procastination till the end, believe it or not) was still around when they did the change to the molders. And now - months later they hit ffs and leave the unconditional weapons alone. Why so inconsequent? What the bloody hell...
I have no problem with balancing, so many skills that I used daily were changed into oblivion countless times: but why can't they just kill all those items that they know of in one swoop? I am sure they knew about 15% spitters when they changed the modlers and of course they know about the unconditional weapons now while changing ffs... the inconsequence on the whole matter is what ticks me off. Bleh, I don't care if they feel the urge to fix all the items they introduced in the past without thinking about how much people will use it - but make up your mind, and do it all - not halfassed. It's like seeing the same bots over and over again after 3 reports...
3 letters: M E H.
Guess why I stay out of such discussions? Because it's just pointless to put any energy into matters that even anet can't solve consequently. GG bit-by-bit-fix!
I am not an angry ranter - I just can't make sense of such policy... Back to the silence behind the curtain with me.
^^

And yeah Malice, mine is now 10%.
It's not that I really care, it's just irratating have your collection continuously trashed.

really after they nerfed the rockmolder was pretty easy to see where that would take.
if i got one of those i would sold them the day after the rockmolder nerf.

it wasn't impossible for me to farm those worms otherwise but it was a clear disadvantage to me only because I couldn't afford hundreds of plats for this bow. Mind you, there was no equal anywhere else to be gotten from any collector or crafter

My position about any items with significantly odd stats is that they should either be available to anyone, or to no-one. Course this doesn't imply that they should be all for free but items with significantly odd stats costing soo much that only, say, the top 0.1% of the community could afford these odd items is something I don't like seeing, and I'm glad Anet finally did something about the majority of these items
+55 axes in my opinion, is (was) a significantly odd stat item...fow armor is not
I don't want to have these (= the unfair) items removed, i'd prefer these items to be reinstated actually BUT it seems Anet has made their decision about these odd items.
The +15% always items should be next...either remove them or (worse) put collectors in the game with +15% always items (with ugly skins :P ) and have them drop again.
And about people wanting those items cuz they are (were) unique...the only real unique thing about those items are their stats...the hod axe still exists and is not craftable anymore..but similar axes are now available to the masses (+5 energy drops in cantha). You folks still have your perfectly unique uncraftable and very rare +5 energy hod axes though...so enjoy

I never had one of the really "rare" or "unique" items but I really liked the incentive to get one of those.
I am not a pvp player... Nor will I ever be (mostly thanks to the juvenile, elitist attitude amongst most pvp players.)
I do not mind an update that caters for the pvp players - but why change items that clearly have no value in pvp play?
The latest installment (nightfall) have a lot of nice features, plenty of eyecandy and all... We even got basic henchcontrol and a new "campain" BUT:
Every single (Anet defined) "rare" item is now common as dirt! If it is not common... go make it!
Anet/NCsoft might think they can make everyone love pvp... I do NOT love pvp and I have no longer an incentive to buy PVE expansions (face it: 1 week of gameplay is easily matched by others)
Nightfall will be goodnight for me, but for those that stick around: Have a lot of balanced pvp fun all (50 or so in a year) of you
(yes - this seems like "Diablo2 revisited" by now)
