Tengu farming out of Riverside how i miss it, along with it selling unid runes getting rich!!!

I still mourne the loss of tengu farming, best farming i ever did

ADDED: Pre rune traders and being afraid to ask my friend to borrow 50 gold for Ascalon armor because at the time 50 gold was alot!

Also I remember the Frozen chest and that other one in Dreadnaughts.

Droks Runs being the coolest thing in town.

I miss being a noob most of all second to Tengu farming, being a noob was fun becasue I didnt feel the need to be rich and now i cant stand having morons tell me something about the game that is wrong is right. O well times have changed so have people, the good ole days!

are New GW Players LUCKY??!?!?

no no no. they never saw how Guild Wars blossomed. Moreover, they never got the chance to play a build that can get you from rank 0 to rank 9 in just 1 1/2 months.

Hopefully someday we'll say 'Remember when we didnt have that way-cool keyring on our characters??' :b

Ectos at 20k a pop and what about black dye being up to the 20 to 30k range before? Remember the frozen chests in that special area where you can get some crazy drops? Rememeber when all the superior monk runes were HELLA expensive.

If so, you are one old school player!

And you can't forget when there was no 1k cap in buying skills...
Yeah but the price crept up *very* slowly, sig caps were half-cost too right?
I preferred that, new characters now immediately crash into 1k turf.
I suppose with more and more chapters... but still.

I got GW 2 weeks after it was first released, still have my 1st character

I also remember people buying useless golds, i sold an Icy half moon +20 hexed of deathbane for 67k Just because it was gold

Free Chests! God I missed them I thought it was soo stupid when that new update was released i was like "Why would chests randomly placed in the middle of the Mountains have Keys!?"

Also the Chest Runs where about 20 items dropped out of chests at once.. and "Rare" Crystallines (instead of being yellow) lol in DD

I remembering trying to cap skills when the game came out.

How many runs did you have to do to a boss to finally catch him using the spell, and then try and cap it while your team kept the boss alive long enough to cap it before they slaughtered it.

Capping skills is EZ Mode now.

Haha I remember that, I used to GvG back then too o.O
Our guild leader wanted to match-up and beat 'em so she could say the sissy boys were beat by a girl lol
Stupid stuff happened, GL left, the guild imploded, and I havent dug into PvP deep since

So on that note, other PvE comments -

Those married to firestorm, lavastorm etc - yeah they would have needed to move on /shrug

I had a friend live and die by MMs with her first character (actually her hubby too) and I dug in deep checking them out as well. She was such a fanatic there that she brushed off my chatter about 'hey the curse line looks neat, I'm having fun with Spiteful Spirit, serious potential here' as I was a skill accumulating/capping fiend and loved to experiment, more-so then farm.

For quite awhile she simply remained a MM terror and farmer - until this new 'SS' farming was the buzz and she was pointing out this new great skill to use, and didn't seem to recall my previous props for the skill

Necros were always very viable, *many* different ways, and FOTMs so silly.
Just as similiarly Eles weren't dead at all to anyone bothering to check things out for themselves.

But at the same time we all have a finite amount of time (although some a lot more than others), I didn't really dig deeply into warriors until some chatter in these boards whet my appetite. I just think its unfortunate how people can get tunnel vision regarding different builds and ideas and go with FOTM or bust, but thankfully we have heroes now to shore up some of the holes.

Ah, the memories.
I remember the first night guild wars went live, selling every little thing to scrounge enough money to start our guild. Then later doing the same for a guild hall.
I remember the legendary players who managed to leave pre-searing at level 20.
I remember playing through all of Tyria with my Mesmer, and not seeing any other Mesmers.
I remember a time before chests (Edit: Actually mean before they became locked and you needed keys).
I remember when there was no faction (and thus remember when PvP players HAD to play PvE for every skill they wanted).
I remember when Bolts of Silk, Linen, etc, were rarer than a rare thing, so getting that next set of armor was a real achievement.
I remember when there were no builds online and people ran their own builds.
I remember the CE Prophecies was not available here in New Zealand.
Ah well, now back to Nightfall to make more memories, woohoo, man I still love this game

I farmed the charr at the Great Northern Wall for my first set of 15k armor, with an earth E/Mo. Man, that build was so terrible, but at least it worked... most of the time...

I remember when the fake IDS video came out and then when it actually did come out I didn't believe it until i saw the guy show it to me outside LA. Also, wasn't there a barrel you could farm right outside beetletun? And then there were the chests that you could open without keys. Nobody seems to be mentioning though that although the chests were free, they were TOTAL CRAP compared to now. Max golds with no mods, anyone?

Oh, and the first time i went into Sorrow's Furnace I got the green I wanted, Galigord's Earth Staff. It made Savio so mad.

You young whippersnappers who have just entered GW have no idea how convient you have it. Attribute refund points were just bleh. It was fun though that the rune market was like the stock market with prices out of control though, the good old days.

Black dye for 30k, and the Sudden Price Death Afternoon, when people made millions buying ectos for 100g each :P

I also remember when we only had 4 random arenas. And before that, they were in 4 separate outposts.

King Jalis pulling Leeroys in THK, buck when hench AI ignored other NPCs, so that he wouldn't get healed. I remember finally beating it at 4am with a PuG gathered back in the evening on our n-th try

FDSs being the awesomest sword skin possible.

IDS pranks, before they got actually implemented in game.

Europe never holding HoH. Ever.

Chests without keys dropping rubbish, Griffin Farms, Guild Hall on an island near LA, unstoppable solo monks, dual smites/air spikes/iways/spirit spams, people actually doing quests in Sorrow's Furnance, Rift Wardens and grasping ghouls attempting to kill your ghostly hero.

But the thing I miss the most is accessing HoH from ToPK. This evil volcano of doom we have now is lame
