I defeted Shiro with Koss as tank-only, and a friend as dervish-tank (balthasars ava and physical resistance).
They were not getting that much dmg from Shiro, and it was rather easy this way.
So saying a warrior is unwanted isn't quite true
PS.: no necro with spoil or spiteful, no mes with empathy. Just 3 monks 1 dervish 1 warrior 1 elem 1 ranger-npc 1 paragon-npc.

Im unsure on this after reading through the thread..
if you are not actively killing or casting you get no exp? is that correct?
so if you have bonds on a hero you still get exp?
im currently working on the legendary survivor title and am a bit scared about doing this and going afk. but the lightbringer status would be nice to use while getting exp.
any suggestions?

Yep. spawned monsters no longer give points, even if you kill them manually. Which is kinda sad really as the rate of LB point gain via exploring has been slowed also.

Well that was a quick fix. If they stop the exp gain from spawned monsters, then it was only a matter of time before they stopped the LB gain.

A bad news...can't get lb points anymore from clone monsters...I only r7 10k more to go..

Yah if u dont have new build dont get it. my question is if u get booted off ur character after e59 or something, can u log back on withotu closing gw window and go right back to farming?

That's nice and dandy that you know a good spot, but it's not a reason to remove a place for discussion.

Started farming too late. Talk about a grind to get to rank 8. 50k @ 2 points a kill is silly imo. I hope they give more quests/missions with higher rewards because this is one the worst grinds I've seen in any game. It doesn't give people who have a life any chance of getting r8 w/out the "afk method". And now that its been disabled for most, I don't think we'll see a lot of r6+ lb's around.

I had to waste my time getting these dumb heroes and their fighting all night for a few nights until I got my holy lightbringer title was their way of paying me back for wasting time in acquiring them.

So if we dont get points from killing duplicates anymore, then perhaps Anet should consider increasing the value of points we get on a unique kill. 2 points\ kill is going to take ages to get this to 50k... (unless of course this has changed) What do people think?

About time A.net fixed a massive exploit being abused to farm rank. AFK farming doesn't equal playing the game.

Well, sorry that I disappoint you, but exploits come and go. That's what makes Guild Wars so much better than most other online games. If I truly supported AFK farming, I would of spread the word ages ago.

yay... got the build running on 1 ranger finally for about 5 hrs... got err7 and rebooted and found out they nerfed it... Ah well Rank 4 is nice enough for me

I got the first 4000 points the honest hardworking way. Its not that hard if you kill the margonites in the realm of secrets. but 50.000 IS hard to achieve i'm lucky i made it just in time.
lightbringer gaze doesn't get much better at R4+ anyway since you rarely have 9 Monsters in one place but a R8 Signet would be a nice bonus for casters (24 energy  )

i think the main advantage of afk lb farming was free exp gain.
