And to T-Bot, yes I did... I got the Witches hat first in Kamadan.. As soon as I saw it in my inv, I rushed over to LA... German Dis 26 had a slowdonw or something... Thorn played games for about 15 mins to 1/2 hour after I got there

All the more so that they should have a collector that gives Hats for those that got their copy of SE/CE delayed.But dont think it will work out this time for those that missed it.

yes you can get a hat by being afk, its just you will die alot.

and IMO, i think this years pumpkin helms are much better

If it hasnt changed, as long you are in the green circle and didnt get Err007 when the hats are passed after some games with the Mad King, you should be able to get the Hat as long you have space in your inventory.

Wow, ANet must be reading my mind! lol ...With all the rumors I was hearing about a witch's hat, I was hoping that perhaps they would hand out a pumpkin crown in one city and the witch's hat in the other, and they did! Woot!

I didn't like the idea of changed hats, but I actually prefer this Pumpkin Crown to one I've seen before - warriors always looked silly in the other one, but this one exudes menace.

Just got to decide which characters to take for which hats, now...

not personally confirmed but someone in the district I was in said they got the witch hat in LA by winning one of the private rounds of r.p.s. (for the info of those without Nightfall). Can anyone confirm this?

edit: just to clarify - this wasn't just a random person bragging about getting a hat. This was someone I saw chosen and who beat the King and said "oh cool I got a witch's hat for 'paper' ". Of course it could still be bs but I'm not sure why they would have bothered at that point.

you dont win a hat by beating the king, the person probably went to both areas to get the items.

if you start in a low district then warp to a high district in the other town after yu get the hat you can get both because higher number districts get teh event later.

That would be b.s.

I personally think this is a bit backwards....the pumpkin heads should have been in nightfall and witch's hats in LA this year just because a lot of people still don't have their nightfall. Makes more sense / excludes fewer.

Most people playing Nightfall have Prophecies as well and can easily switch...
What should I do with a 2nd pumpkin head? lol...... that's very disappointing.

I think how it works is that the later districts are created after the event has begun in other districts. Hence the mad king comes later in those districts. The increase in the number of people in the districts causes more districts to be formed.

It would be nice if every 5 districts were spaced out from each other by about a minute. That way we could all get masks for all of our characters in a couple of mad king stops. Oh well, I'm just grateful that he's back. Halloween is by far my favorite event.

I like them both. I'm just glad they decided to keep last years pumpkin helms unique so we still have our memorabilia that says "I was there in 2005."

This is gonna suck for my storage mules though. We seriously need more storage now. I have all the event hats on two of my characters and various ones on the others.

u can stay afk BUT afterawhile, other ppl can pick up your items, so I can see a nub coming and picking up the hat that is CUSTOMIZED to you.

I saw a bunch and then they all disappeared from ground. People picked em up and trashed em I guess. Nice people in GW.....

BTW, biggest reason last year's pumpkin head is better...

When you back up from the 2006 pumpkin helm, the whole face blurs like the candles fired up on high heat. The 2005 does NOT do that.

EDIT: Ok, I don't know....one guy by storage in the new helm did this as I backed away from him, but I've been looking and haven't seen since....strange.

odd - been afk for 3 hours and got my hat with no prob...I'd be surprised if they did drop hats as they normally just dump into inventory...

you'll get the hats and other items in your invertory. I think only when your inventory is full that the presents drop to the ground.

I've been afk the 1st round and got the hat.

Their inventory were full when they went afk = dump on ground. It's a safety mechanism for getting Halloween trade gifts from the Mad King in case you fill up doing the stuff you don't lose the end item, it goes to ground instead.

I went AFK this morning at 6:50 am EST and came back to the computer around 7:45 am. I was around the green circle in Kamadan and didn't receive anything. Could it be because I put my status as offline? My inventory isn't even close to full. I'll probably only have one more chance tonight to try again
