A basic NF green farming tactic (need input and testing)
VitisVinifera
So tooling around this morning I realized there may be a way to speed this up.
1. Full party of henches/heroes
2. Clear area around the boss with them (but leave boss alone)
3. Send henches somewhere else by flagging (far enough that they won't get the boss drop)
4. Solo the boss
5. Get the green
What's obviously missing is what solo builds work vs which bosses (but this should be pretty easy to figure out from all the Factions solo builds we perfected), how far you need to send the henches out and leave them so that they won't steal drops, and if this whole method will work.
Would like some feedback as well as first-hand experience, with build vs boss, and success rate.
happy farming!

Sounds like an interesting idea, I'm going to try this out. However I'm wondering why no heroes? They are same as henchman in stealing loot etc, or am I mistaking?
VitisVinifera
yes heroes are the same but it's more clicks.........when I'm running around with 3 heroes and 4 henches that's 4 clicks to get them to the same spot, and when farming, speed = efficiency = more greens, plus I'm a bit worried that they'd all have a bit of a mind of then own, rather than all being covered by one flag
I Brother Bloood I
u know that first control controls both heroes and henchies right lol......
WinespringBrother
I did a variation of this when farming the Ice Breaker. I cleared out the barbed grawls and bosses, but left the mighty grawls around the lake alive. I then took my hench party elsewhere far away to be wiped out by trolls and avicara, then went back to solo the mighty grawls and get all their drops including a green. So it should work.

no, I didn't. I haven't been able to play NF very much so far and there are a lot of peculiarities I haven't learned yet.........which is partially why I've been asking for input throughout this thread. I bet there are others who didn't know this either.
Arkantos
This seems like a very good idea. I'm gonna try it ous some time.

Well it does work i did it during the preview event and got a bunch of sf stuff.
cerb
It does work. What my friend did, pre-Nightfall, was to clear SF with henchies but leave bosses alone, then trap the henchies behind a gate using a gearbox.
Then, it was safe to go solo the bosses, and grab the loot. All props go to Pega Aki for thinking of this though. But yes, it does work.

Desires
been doing a similar thing but was justing using dual warrior heros to keep me in charge and other stuff while running to bosses.
Yawgmoth
this obviously works, but why no heroes? i havent done any extensive testing with them yet, but they dont seem to work different than henchies when it comes to dividing loot.

read above. the OP thought you needed to control heroes one by one when sending them away, altho the first option controls both heroes and hench.
well, it does look like an idea, and you need to send heroes as far away as you need them to be blanked out grey in your party window. so out of radar range.
just be careful that the boss wont die first, thats why my hench tend to do, although i keep calling otherwise

Yes it works i have farmed a number of bosses this way, you need to send the hench far enough away so there name goes grey in the party window.

Anyway, good thinking.

yup it works but set them out of the radar that they are grey than they don't get drops ! works for me got allready 10 greens in nightfall
Zamochit
doesnt just work in nightfall either btw, sorrows furnace is relatively easy pickings now too
Marth Reynolds
you'll still share money with hencman when theyre out of range now tough...
but otherwise it's quite nice

This thread should be closed and burned No one should speak of it again Otherwise I am feeling a big spongie football will happen. Which is made by “NERF” !!!!
VitisVinifera
I could hardly imagine them nerfing this (well I take that back....this is, after all, Anerf), because moving npcs and heroes around on the map is a feature that they had to probably do a lot of work to put in.
Anyways I did some testing last night, and like everyone else says, this works great. So I say we start putting down boss locations and basic builds. Here's what I've got so far:
Chor the Bladed (War boss)
Location: Marga Coast, head out from Dajkah Inlet, take your immediate left and follow the wall on the right, and he'll be right there
Build: super easy, auspicious parry/riposte/deadly riposte, that's all you need
Dabineh Deathbringer (Paragon boss)
Location: Sunward Marches, head out from the Sunspear Outpost, just hug right and he'll be right there
Build: same auspicious/riposte build as above
Enadiz the Hardheaded (War boss)
Location: Arkjok Ward, outside Yohlon Haven, to the right and ahead, among a ton of insects
Build: same auspiciious/riposte build
Eshau Longspear (Dervish boss)
Location: Arkjok Ward, just a bit east of Enadiz
Build: Sword war Grenth's build. I was going Grenths, Dolyak, Gash, Final thrust, just those skills, but some more sword skills would speed it up a bit.
The nice thing about killing off the mobs with your heroes/hench is that anti farm won't trigger as fast as if you only repeatedly kill the bosses.
So I'd like to see other people's boss/build finds!

Actually i farmed a lot with this method, but i didn't even see a green dropping. The henchmen are grayed out, i get the max xp for bosses, and they drop a lot of useless stuff. I can't imagine what's the problem.
VitisVinifera
welcome to green farming hubert.....it takes patience, luck, and a general understanding of anti farm
Hubert
In factions i farmed greens too, and i know it shouldn't take so much times to get one. I have missed something, anyways i would see if anti-farm code triggers. soo... unlucky
Gorebrex
Nothing is totally useless, maybe some lower stuff Id salvagefor materials(usually under 50g), or just merch some stuff I dont want. Been doing alot of that lately, as Im rapidly running out of room.
NayaNuhya
If I kill a boss, can I kill it again? That's the problem, because I didn't get any greens from killing boss... if they don't apear.. doh
Charqus
Any decent quick places?
Hayt5
can you pic what these bosses drop?
Ravengar Silvertree
I was hoping this wouldn't get out....it's gonna get nerfed now.
fotovince
lol ive got allready 10 greens or more. so it works by me.
Jeremy Untouchable
heres my idea for keeping the boss alive long enough for you to run away and reflag, use grenths balence on the boss when you have full hp, heals him, then you run away/retarget

ROFL!
andrewf
=/ can't you people solo those bosses for greens?
Menzoberranzan
Yeah like duhhhhh, the henchies are only there to remove the mobs, making "Soloing the boss" possible lol
VitisVinifera
what I've learned is that unless you post a step-by-step build for each and every boss, including all skills, armor, attributes, and weapons, then put up a video, people will still ask to be handheld. Some of my pm's have been hilarious. And it's obvious from some of the replies on page 2 here that some people still don't understand the basic concept of this.
Anyways over the weekend I farmed out about 15 different greens (and many multiples of the ones I believe to be valuable).

Gave this a try just now in sorrows furnace just to see if I could get it to work. Three yakslappers in three tries (yes I know it's crap but it's close to start). Best way to do this is with a MM, get 10 minions up and running one the way and you're laughing. Nice find.
kess
this is a nice way to exploit the hench AI.
For those of you who can't kill the boss by yourself, try this build
E/N
Grenth Balance {e}
crystal wave
teinai crystal
obs flame
4 other slots for defenses or more attack skills..
just let the boss take your hp down and use grenth balance, when your hp get below 200 after GB, just spam the 2 crystal waves... there easy kill of the boss
Good luck in green hunting

So I'd like to see other people's boss/build finds! Great builds there!!! Now I combined grenths and riposte builds to go out and kill both Eshau and Enadiz. Eshau still a little time comsuming tho. Here is what i used: Grenths, riposte, deadly riposte, bonettis (to use healing signet), Doylak, sever artery, gash, and healing signet. this one works for me but feel free to comment on it. BTW, thank you very much for the builds

who has or thinks they can get to the end of tombs with heros and henchies? if you could all you need is a build that could solo the last bosses, easier said then done but I've seen some amazing soloer's in guru (u guys know who you are). though not really worth it other then for the challange but think all the greens would be for u!

Mahto Sharptooth (warrior boss)
Location: Sunward Marches, head out from Dajkah Inlet, take a left and follow the path all the way to the pond. U have to fight many foes to get there.
Build: Same Auspicious parry/Riposte build.
Hint: I personally go out to get Deathbringer, then go and get Sharptooth. lol

Might as well share my farm spot lol. Right outside the Chantry, go for the Dervish boss Suli. He drop's Suli's Scythe (Duhhhhhhhhhhh). Quick and easy run that has netted me 3 of his scythes so far.
Then I heard about Mhedi's Vow (An even better zealous scythe) and am not so happy anymore lol
