Double Dye Weekend Issues

I've gotten two dyes so far yesterday just from questing in full 8 man hench groups for a bit. I even forgot it was Double Dye Drop weekend until I saw this thread.

When leveling up my Dervish(and getting sunspear points) I didn't use henches or heros. Just my Dervish alone and just about everything I killed dropped something. And sometimes I got one, two, or three dyes in a run. And in some runs, none.

I've gotten about 4 in the past two days, definatly an increase for me.... thing is they're mostly ugly. Two orange a yellow and... I think a purple.
I already had one orange I can't get rid of. Who dyes their stuff Orange? *shakes head* Where they green I wouldn't complain.
I've been playing for about 8 months now and still haven't seen a black.

I just got 7 dye drops on the newbie island running around with my main for about an hour.
2 green
1 blue
1 brown
2 yellow
1 purple

10 dyes in roughly 1 hour running around noob island with my ranger, no whites or blacks though

I have been doing elona----was getting more dyes BEFORE the 'double dye' weekend.....my hubby has been getting keys, he thinks that those should have been dyes....whatever. Will do some more today and see how we fair.
(our newbie characters even usually get one or two dyes a day as well....so we'll run them and see if they get some today)

Plains of Jarin, about an hour and a half. I got 2 purples, a silver, a blue, a green, and... 3 oranges. Now, I can say exactly half of the dye I have gotten in Elona is Orange. I hate orange.
Anyways, I was soloing my level 20 dervish on the Plains of Jarin, and killing everything. Managed to pick up every green on that map as well.

I realy think they need to revamp the Whole drop system I have not got a single dye drop yesterday and played for several hours my drop rate on any good items is bad. As mamy time as I have done FOW not a single ecto and my freinds and guildies get them all the time I think that there is some bug in the game that is limiting drops for some players when I started playing this game I use to get dye drops a lot like 5 black in the first mounth or so now I havent had a black dye in close to a year and very little of any other colors. Well I did get a white dye on the first day of Night fall and one brown a couple of days ago but that is it

I can't complain. Dyes aren't exactly falling from the sky, but I've gotten more this weekend than ever. Funny thing is I've had more silver drop for me than any other dye. I thought it was supposed to be somewhat rare. Not like black (or now, white), but still fairly rare.

I must be the unluckiest player!
After doing lot of quests in the mainland in Elona and not getting a single drop of dyes; even orange and yellow would have been fine, I tried to go solo in the noob island.
I run every where not once but twice, getting bored to the limit and no dyes, no greens no gold ......nothing!
This was the most wasted time I have ever had on this game! I'll never trust ANet again on their so called "weekedn events".
I'm very disappointed, most of all because I realized I'm very unlucky at this game.
I'll keep playing on and enjoying the scenary ...... at least they cannot take that away from me! :P

On my other character, I got a brown and a green last night. My team member got two drops in one battle!

Plus you can collect Sentient Seeds and trade one for a salvage or ID kit. I didn't know otherwise I wouldn't have sold the 63 or however many I had from Halloween farming. I woulda traded them for the kits and gave them away at Piken Square, Shing Jea, and other places with new gamers.

I would assume the number of dye drops you get correlates with what you're doing. Like me for example, I'm really not going to notice this weekend becuase of the lower level of my character. Thus me having to bring heores and/or henchies.
And because of that, I've had one dye drop. But somebody that brings their Tyrian/Canthan lvl 20 over will probably be able to plow through the mobs quicker, thus getting more dye drops.

I got hardly any dyes and I've played heaps in Nightfall. I still don't see how the double dye drop weekend is beneficial at all

I laid waste to the Plains of Jarin twice (read: killed anything that moved) and got 5 dyes: an orange, a green, and three purples.
I didn't even bother picking up the purples, as they're not worth enough to bother selling and I don't use it myself...

Up until Friday I was getting 4 or 5 dyes a day, just playing through storyline and missions. The people I played with were getting cranky because so many were dropping for me. Since the weekend came into effect I haven't gotten a single dye. (And neither have they).

I ran my Dervish around, exploring and killing everything last night and again tonight. Different areas, both times. I got 1 purple, last night, and 1 brown, tonight. Approx. 8 hours in total.
To those of you who don't even bother picking them up, please do so. You could make some new person very happy. Or even just someone who wants lots of dye because they're really not sure what color to dye their Dervish's armor.

Well, personally I *love* orange and purple dye -- purple + grey yields a lovely shade on warrior Istani armor -- but sadly I've only had 4 dye drops in the week I've had NF! And that's with three characters combined!
Maybe I should be farming and not questing if I want dye drops(?) Sounds as if that's what may trigger them.
