Awesome, shadows requiem, but try to make it more symmetric (bra and the thing on the head ^^)

Greyfox, as for armor, then its indeed a lot like that ^^ I didn't see it was armor though

these are all awesome! Im jealous of people who can paint on photoshop..my dwayna drawing was too blurry or something. Proud of it tho for my first photoshop drawing ^^

I love all the art.

Ok ravensong, I'm even more newb in photoshop, but some things I would do if painting it in real paint :

Darker shade, make the deepest shadow black (right under the helmet).
And dont give up until u do the stuff around it!!! It will look a lot different when u see the total picture!

I think u do a great job so far ^^

Your chains could use more detail though. Chains twist and turn, yours are kinda one-dimensional.

I think thats because it lacks background currently

After drawing lots of Ghost Rider and Pitt, i kinda got forced out of drawings chains that way (not to mention my work deals with a lot of chains and linked jewelry),you kinda have to think about each link as a seperate entity and how its position and twist is relevant to the overall tautness/limpness of the chain.

Here's one of my pictures here...it's Dwayna. Couldn't do much with the background considering i have only one brush and im using the kind of watercolors that come in the little tube, which ive never used before, not to mention there are only four colors plus black and white so i have to mix everything by hand. tell me what you think of this.

Geez, greyfox, that's...that's quite morbid and as such you fit the Abbadon theme quite nicely, in a very twisted sort of way.

I dunno, though, about Kormir's position. I mean you can really see the poser influence there, and the program tends to make figures appear stiff and unnatural. For example, being suspended by the wrists wouldn't cause you to start doing the iron cross with your arms straight out in diagonals like that, it'd cause her, at least by the idea of the picture, to be weak and slump, with the arms angled higher and the body lower, and the legs wouldn't be in perfect diagonals and symmetric either, she'd probably favor a side, rather than be so rigid. Just my opinion, though.

Wow, lots of nice art around!

I've finished my first entry, myself. Had a pretty busy week so I'll probably only be able to finish one other.

Anyway, here it is: Dwayna and Grenth
Critics welcome!

that looks really nice Miss Danshai, and good job considering what you had to work with. I would suggest that you try defining the edges of the wings a bit more, they blend in with the background. also the nose, it would look better if the nose wasnt drawn in black. well, these are just my suggestions, but do whatever you see fit.

YIPES! I've dropped out of the contest (If anyone noticed and/or cared). Not only is my art not cutting it, but I also have an art project for class that needs to be done.

Have fun with the contest, peeps! Good luck to all of you! Keep up the great work!

All hail lord Abaddon!

[EDIT]

Was just re-reading the first page, and came across the following rules:

Quote:
# Entries will be judged by me. Top 25 entries will be placed into a poll for community judging.
# The Top 25 will consist of 25 different entries made by 25 different entrants. (For the sake of fairness.) Just so I fully understand, you will act as the primary judge, and decide upon the main winner (who takes the prize) and then there will be a community poll to decide the placings of the rest, correct? Also, if someone has submitted multiple entries, and the community poll will be limited to one per entrant, how will the pieces for the poll be chosen.

I can't see the ecchiness in color I've already been asked by a good friend to finish the Lyssa picture. I won't be doing it for the contest, but I will submit the final to this Forum when I complete it if I remember. Thanks for the compliment, dude! ^_^

A little while back I posted saying that I would judge the winner for myself. Since polls are very commonly prone to sabotage by people being friends of the artists rather than serious voters.

True enough, and that's how I thought it was going to work. So, have you scrapped the idea of a vote completely then? I just think it would be a bit of a shame to only highlight one winner out of all the great work that's been submitted. Even if there is only one prize up for grabs, I think having placings would be good fun. At least that way, you have 1 winner, and lots of runners up, all of whom can see how they fared against the other entrants. Instead of having just the one winner, and everyone else being losers >_>

Just wanted to say, that this is probably my favorite sketch in the competition so far. If this was given a nice full painting, I reckon you could have easily knocked Nith off the top spot >_>
