What's the least played profession in GW?
Ravon
The title said it all. ;D
LightningHell
Smart warriors.
Rau the legendary
probably mesmers.
Dead_Metal_Zero
Ritualists... I've only seen 4-5 outside of Cantha....

And there are millions of shitty assassins... What was Anet thinking about including a class like "assassin" in GW? Didn't they know every 13 year old would make one?
Dr Imperial
mesmer mesmer mesmer. Mesmers are actually really good....and can rip apart a warrior in a matter of seconds...but i think mesmer should stay a secondary proffesion and not a primary.

Personally, I'd agree with Dead_Metal_Zero, ritualists are probably now the rarest prof in the game (both PvE and PvP). And to be fair, it's hard to find "decent" players of any profession if you are just pugging around, not just the melee classes.
Sophitia Leafblade
It used to be mesmers but i think Rits are now the rarest since u dont see them hardly at all except in Cantha, atleast mesmers are in all 3 campaigns
themickman
mesmers, even though they are great for pvp, pve really isnt their thing

If played right, mesmers can do great damage
duncan99
Rt is very rare
Pick Me
I've seen many Rits in Canthas. I've seen quite a few in Tyria (I also have my Rit in Tyria right now).
I've seen a few Primary Mesmers in Tyria, and only 2 in Cantha.
So, I'd say Mesmer. Although, ACTIVE Monks seem to be rare too (just not as rare as Mesmes though)

I'm gonna have to draw a line between mesmers and ritualists on this one
African War Lord
dervish!! I only see 15-20 per town.
Tranquilis
I usually find a mesmer or two anywhere I go - sure, they don't get the respect they deserve, but they're a core class, and that makes a difference.
OTOH, I'm always looking for a good Resto Rit to join my parties... Outside of Cantha, I may as well go beg.
Ritualists are rarest, IMO.

Evil Cheesecake
Ritualists I guess, I've seen ONE Ritualist since I started playing.
Ic Zero
PvE - Mesmer
PvP - Ritualist
PvP - Ritualist
Jay Shrine
I would say monks, for nightfall,I never see them,I always have to get the god damn Hero ><
skillsbas8
PVE, by far Ritualists.
Terra Xin
I hate this thread. I play both the Rit and Mesmer...

Ritualists? Rare?
You'd probably have to specify PvE or PvP. I encounter ritualists all the time in PvE, I see them more often than any other class in Prophecies. They're very rare in PvP though.
Mesmer definetaly win in PvP, even though they're not used as often as they should be. They are extremely rare in PvE...I'm really not sure why. Domination magic is extremely useful.

makosi
PvP = Ritualist. I think they're just too slow and easy to shut down.
PvE = Probably mesmer. They require a brain to use so most people prefer a C-space wammo.

I agree, Spiritual Pain + Energy Surge is great, quick AoE damage.

I am one of those. I can run either SB spike or a N/E build I made using Reapers mark, as well as the stereotypes.

Most people I know don't like Ritualists, and I rarely see them. :|
DAS Achilles

Well after spending most of last weekend in the 4v4 arenas, I can safely say that the rits are far from dead. Both offence and defence based spirit spamming rits are out in force it would appear. Saddly the same can't be said for HA and GvG, but still, they are making a decent showing in the smaller PvP arenas.

He is my theory why Rits are rare these days.
Most of the people that play Nightfall come from Prophecies.
These guys have been playing around for a while and have old warriors/monks/mesmet/necros/rangers/eles
I think people that fall into this category would rather just take their old professions into the new campaign.
I have a Rit and I would never delete her but I'm going thru nightfall with my Mesmer now and I already finished with the warrior.
I think if you give it sometime then you will see Rits everywhere since people would start working on them.
Everyone in my guild has Rits but none started playing them yet thru Nightfall.

Everyone in my guild has Rits but none started playing them yet thru Nightfall. So essentially, people don't like playing Ritualists as much as other classes.
It seems like Ritualists just aren't as powerful as other options except in RA, where there are few counters present and their spirits can overpower small groups.

Really? Do you know how much damage Backfire does? Or Empathy, especially on those Frenzy warriors.
I always have a mesmer hench with me. And the more I play the more I tend to take a bunch of interrupts with me as well.

Trust me, you Heros are much better at monking then most of the monks out there Try Mo/Me boon-prot PvP style with Energy Drain, much better then any of those "monks" with orison or healing breeze.

I ragequit groups when i see people with those skills. Even when I'm playing monk myself.
Oh, and my monk is 'stuck' at Gates of Madness... It's not that it's a hard mission, but I just don't want to even TRY it because... well... if you see all those dervishes and warriors trying to get in a group right now, you'd KNOW it's not a good idea to just join a pug.
xxxSPOILERxxx
If you need a monk at that mission (i use Dwayna's Kiss, which heals for 288 hp (not including DF bonus) at times, zomg.), just call me... but not too much melee, that's just wanting to get pwned by Shiro in the end.
xxxENDSPOILERxxx
Oh, and I'd like to get master's, so keep that in mind before you ask me

yer true, monks for nf. but overall rit.

Rt is definatly the class I've seen th least, followed closely by Assassins and Mesmers. Early on in the game you see a lot of shitty Monks, but once you get to the later parts, you mainly get good monks (and what the hell is wrong with orizon please? It's standard in my build... And I've never heard anything but compliments about my monking...). though I agree on healing Breeze, anybody caught using that should be slapped across the face, the same applies on Warriors using Heal Sig... I've rage quit on one of those before because he wouldn't stop using it (Same goes for troll Unguent while we're on that matter...).
LifeInfusion
Mesmers. Monks aren't uncommon, just most of them are out farming their butts off. It just doesn't help when people ask for 2 of them. What other class is asked for on a duo basis?
Ritualist is runner up for NF but they were pretty common when playing through Factions. I guess the slight nerf to Rit Lord killed people's builds? Not to mention Paragons basically replace Ritualists in the support field...

kanaxais_scythe
Ritualist. Even if nobody wants them I decided to make myself one.
Also Mesmers, even in PvP its hard to find many of them.
