I tried this quest yesterday with a guildie (2 different groups) but we also couldn't find it. I've ran globally around but didn't see him and he cleared almost everything he said but also still missed him....

I havn't attempted yet but perhaps if you take the quest item "Zehtukas Great Horn" with you it will activate him?

I have the same problem i got the quest ``Hunting Abaddon`` and before i take the quest allready had ''zehtyka's jug'' (alcoholic drink) and the is horn but finding this greath hunter is becoming very hard...

well i found one more zehtuka item *Zehtuka's Bag*, its like a normal bag , holds 10 items, can be equipped but looks more like a rocksac

you encounter him on a quest in jahai bluffs, then hes in those gardens is vabbi saying hes off to slay the great wurm...and when hes back there is going to be the greates feast ever....well looks like that he WAS the feast...for the wurms that is...unless hes actually alive

I've only found his Jug and Great Horn. Perhaps we need all three items? Those two plus the bag? Is the bag also found in Crystal Overlook?

Well from what i know there is 4 zehtuka items atm, z' bag, jug, shortbow and his horn which of i own the horn and the bow. If anyone here with the other 2 feels like it he could leave his ign so we could try the quest with all 4 items on one char with the quest active on that char. Or you could just pm me(please no where did you find blah blah..).

I only have the horn, and unless you need all 4 to activate him, he's not in Nightfallen Jahai. I talked to every soul in there.

The Jug is in the Joko's Domain SE from the Bone Palace. I think it's close somewhat to a rez shrine - just use ALT to look for it. also it is found in the Crystal outlook same as the horn, but the horn spawns everytime.

Yea, I've been able to run across sulfur too since it doesn't kill you until you stop. :]But yea, I'll look over there. Now, where can you find the pack? :/ AlienFromBeyond
GWwiki says the pack can be found in the Poisoned Outcrops.

GWwiki (which is back up now thank God) also says the Shortbow is in Joko's domain but I've never seen it there either. Anyways, I guess I'll have to try looking for them again later. *shrug*

So, the Horn almost certainly always spawns in Crystal Overlook in that same little structure in the sulphur. It looks like the other items can be found in multiple places. I definitely found my Jug in Crystal Overlook. Perhaps there are set spawn points in a few different Desolations explorables(possibly all of them) and there is a small chance for one of the three items that isn't the horn to spawn there.

i found my bag in the area west from bone palace, cant remember the name off the top of my head, i also found a jug there, but gave it to a guildie for booze title ^^

This has to be correct. Like the guy below you said, I also found my Jug in the Akali Plain but GuildWiki says it is Joko's Domain. I think this has to be part of something bigger along with that new quest. Does anyone here have all 4 items yet?

Zehtuka's Pack is a mysterious item that can be found in Poisoned Outcrops. It behaves exactly like a bag that's been upgraded with a Rune of Holding. It can be equipped in the inventory! Most likely it belongs to The Great Zehtuka. Any1 have any idea where I can get this in the outcrops, i looked all over and couldnt find it SilentVex
It appears to be something that doesn't spawn every time you enter the zone. If someone has found it and remembers where they found it, a description (or screenshot) of where would be awesome.

wiki says its in the outcrops which is north of the bone palace ... not west Dmitry  heres where i found the pack, and heres where i found the jug, right outside bone palace in that area west  as people said above, these items dont always spawn, ive been around crystal overlook so many times yet never seen the bow Jodie O

I get the idea that these items can spawn in all de desolation area's. As people are finding them all over. where they spawn however seems to be random.
i found the shortbow in the outcrops near the abbabon statue where u find this guy with a quest. it like 10 feet away from him. buy and die
Even though I love you jodie I'll have to say no here. You basically kill the lions and get a quest from zehtuka running around in the area killing monsters and listening to his (crap) stories. But the interesting thing is that you get a quest from the great Z in jahai bluffs and the quest which this thread is about finds its place in the nightfallen jahai. So since apparently noone has all the items yet my guess is that the quest is A) broken. or B) only completable by having all Z items in your inventory (maybe in a special constellation).

I am fairly sure I found the Jug in The Ruptured Heart, close to that bit of sulfur in the north. Perhaps they have more than one spawn location?

Following Dmitry's post I attempted to get both Items. About 75+ Runs later I finally managed to get the Jug to drop:
These item's are way too rare to be part of the quest. The horn I could understand since it spawns there everytime. But even if the horn was involved in the quest I couldn't see as to why the quest dialouge doesn't say such. If it was part of the quest i'd expect it to say something like: "Seek out Zehtuka's Horn in Crystal Overlook" Then once you get back to Nightfallen the quest would update with something like this: "Use Zehtuka's Horn to call him into battle" I think it's possible the quest is either unifinished and will eventually need the horn to activate or there is something else needed to be done to find him. But I'm pretty confident that after having all four of his items nothing will happen. Thargor
I have the horn, jug, and pack. Spent way to much time looking for the bow.
I really hope this isn't another gwen in the making, its bad enough having all her useless items taking up inventory space on the off chance that anet is gonna get around to finally completeing her story line. Does anyone have a detailed location for the bow?

OK I have all four items and am going out to look for this guy. Will report back as soon as I clear the area.
cleared out the edges and ran thru the middle without killing everything and he is not anywhere. I really think this quest is broken or maybe there is something else you have to do to get him to spawn (maybe another quest earlier in the game). I will try again later and actually kill everything on the map and see how that goes. Of course there is always the chance that like his items, he is a random spawn and won't be there everytime! Man wouldn't that be a GREAT idea! |
