I dont know about you guys, but i really want a Guild Wars Movie....the stories of all the games are really good...i think that they could make a very good movie out of guild wars...A GUILD WArS MOVIE WOULD BE PURE AWESOMENESS I TELL YOU...PURE AWESOMENESS...could ne one tell me if theyd like to see a guild wars movie also???

On a more serious note the Warcraft movie has been on the cards for god knows how many years and if that hasn't been made yet then Guild Wars doesn't stand a chance.

A movie would suck because there is too much to put into a 2, even a 3 hour movie.

and the problem with it is?
I'm not saying we wouldnt like to have one, its just that if it ever possibly happens, it would be a whole series of movies starring crappy actors such as Tom Hanks and William Shatner. In my opinion, it isnt worth waiting a year in between movies.

apparently you don't remember the good ol' mario brothers movie and how it flopped. i think the only one that was half way done right was teenage mutant ninja turtles. i'm sure there's some other movies that were made from video games but they all sucked as well. mortal kombat movies weren't really the greatest movies, good thing i never paid to see those.

Well its certainly linear enough for it but I don't think it should directly take place in the story. Show what happened before the player arrived. No live action and no outside help just have Anet make it like their C.G. trailers.

movie = bad = I'd still watch it because I'm a fan of guild wars. Who cares if it sucks... which there could be the odd chance that it would be decent. I'd love to see a Rit kicking some butt blindfolded

I was actually thinking about a guild wars movie but I was thinking that if they did make it a movie they'd have to change the name of it because Guild Wars wouldn't make much sense in a storyline aspect where they introduce characters and so forth.. unless it was like the orginal mortal kombat i guess...

It all depends on the media that is used and what storyline they want to use. I'd rather see a movie/series that is animated or cg thats based off of the lore thats already produced and not really the storylines that take place within each game. The events leading up to the games would be pretty cool to see in a movie or series.
And as much as people dont like the voice acting, I'm sure with good scripts the voice acting would be good if they manage to get the right voices for the right people.

lol yeah. Honestly this is more a money issue, but with all the horny teenagers wanting to see IRL female eles, and the possible hilarious cast (omg chuck norris totally, but how dare you suggest him being prince rurik the nOOb!!!), I'd think it'd work even if the plot sucked ass.
Factions would fit.. but i think that would just suck as a movie, the whole kurzik/luxon thing was just more for alliances in game prolly. I can imagine nightfall sucking, any movie where you have to kill a god will suck, so that leaves prophecies. And I think you could all agree presearing, the charr, the titans, the ring of fire, the jungle.. it'd fit perfectly.

I think a book would work out better, though in my experience novelizations of movies/games are utter drivel. But if you want a movie type thingamajig, it would probably be better to go with a mini-series.
Use Guild Wars Lore, a new set of characters, and let these new characters go through the story(and occasionally witness events involving Mhenlo and the rest). If you bring in familiar characters like Mhenlo, Cynn, etc, its harder to avoid disappointment in how you play the character(everyone would expect the exact same clothes and style of speech/lines).
But that's just my two cents
