Don't Nerf DoA
Senator Tom
Just a petition to, despite the begs of noobs, not nerf DoA. Please anet, this game is too easy...we need a challenge.

Sure, don't nerf DoA. But remove the ritualist hero from it and put him somewhere where more than just a small subset of players can attain him (a normal, every day hero with nothing special about him).
Crom The Pale
Nobody ever wanted DoA nerfed, just take the Ritualist Hero out of there. He's not a true reward for the effort involved.
Sable Phoenix
Sure, let's keep the supposedly "endgame content" restricted to five percent of the playerbase. What a great idea!

Wouldnt mind if once you beat a mini quest in malyx you wouldn't need to do it again tho. Its annoying if you beat rescue, the hardest subquest in ravenheart gloom, and then lagout later on. You've already beaten your challenge XD
And yeah make razah cool and add some dorky ritualist somewhere earlier in the game.

DoA has nothing to do with being challenging. Anet slapped together an area, threw in hordes of enemies with overstated abilities, and then inflicted it on us. Stop pandering to poor game design and a complete rush job. Once you do that then maybe they will actually make DoA a real challenge instead of the pile of dog poo it is now.

They can keep the Domain as it is as long as they add something like Sorrow's Furnace as well.
Players requested endgame content. They did not request an elite mission. There is a huge difference between the two.

I would like some areas like fow and UW long overdue, they don't have to be elite areas.
Also i can now do a fissure armor run half asleep in 35mins ..

I haven't tried the Domain yet myself, but I've yet to find a PvE area I can't play through. And that's not even with real people. C'mon, this game isn't a walk in the park, but it's also not even close to challenging if you know what you're doing.
On another note, I DO agree that the DoA, among other areas, seems to have been made with the "Bigger monsters, better skills" philosophy. It would be nice to see some areas with different challenges - puzzles, fairly-powered monsters with terrain advantages, etc...

I don't find DoA fun (never seen anything this unbalanced before) so I dont really care. Just don't take Razah away from people that don't feel like being Touched by the (*ballanced*) Aaaargh.

Well I’ll agree they shouldn’t nerf DoA, instead they need to “rebalance” the cookie cutter builds of all classes even the warrior solo farming build, improve monster AI to recognize environment body blocking so they see the rest of the party increase monster levels. And reduce drop rate.

That was one of the biggest threads ever to hit Riverside non-nerf-related, and that's saying something. So I don't know where you get that idea from, but it was definitely asked for. And as for it being restricted, if by "restricted" you mean if you don't know how this game works you can't win, then yes, it's restricted, because you have to actually, you know, lern2play in order to get anything done down there.

Most players wanted something that everyone could participate in, like Sorrow's Furnace, not an exercise in frustration with ridiculously overpowered enemies that require non-variable tactics and zero room for error.
DOA is not endgame content. Its very design removes it from that category for the majority of players. I have a life, which means that means I can't "lern2play" as you so poetically say it, at least not the way you mean it. Maybe you should try to get one.

Actually DoA is as definition Endgame content. You do not need it to beat it to beat the game. In fact, you cannot access it until after the end of the game, it is optional. and it is defined to be significantly more difficult than the end of the game. Endgame content is not designed for the average gamer who can beat the game. But geared towards the over zealous fans of the game. You see, that's what games call Endgame Content.
Look at any game before it Ruby and Emerald from Final Fantasy VII
Alternative Dimention (level 9999 boss) from Disgaea
Dragovarion Dungeon or whatever it's called in DragonQuest.
The average gamer does not beat the Endgame content.

I'm glad a thread like this exists and that someone pointed it out to me, because I was about to post a seperate thread elsewhere with much the same tact.
I've been ignoring it for a while, but really, the whining is just out of hand. I'm exhausted with people complaining about the difficulty of the Domain of Anguish. It's not going to get a "nerf". It doesn't need one.
First of all, people have been really bothered that there are no henchmen in the town. Is this a joke? Really, I'd like to know if people are serious about this. Can you take henchmen to UW? FoW? Deep? Urgoz? No? Then why why WHY would you be able to take them to Anguish? You DO know it says elite mission when you load in right? Then, what if they gave them to you? Would it help at all? Absolutely not. In reality, it's retarded that you can take Heroes to ANY high end area (Halls, UW, GvG, FoW, Urgoz, The Deep, Anguish). In case no one noticed, this is a MULTIPLAYER GAME. If you want to "wtfpwn" some noobs by yourself, go play Batman on your Gamecube. Honestly.
Second, I'm really REALLY tired of people whining because they can't play whatever build they feel like and "wtfpwnz0rz" the zones. Are you kidding me? Yes, you have to run certain builds to succeed. ALL the zones are like that. Everywhere. Complaining that you can't run x build and get a group is like complaining that you can't run Minion Master or Barrage Ranger and find a group for Shiro.
Third, how many groups do you think wiped on the very first mob in Urgoz' and decided it was a waste of time? Plenty. How long did it take to first beat Urgoz? A while. How many people, on average, are there even in the DISTRICT for Urgoz Warren right now? Zero, garunteed. How many have there been for months even? Not very many at all. Is ANet nerfing the zone because every average joe with a MM or Barrage Ranger can't own it in the face? No.
Fourth, speaking of Urgoz and The Deep, what was the primary complaint of the average player about them? Their accessability (lack there of to be exact). So what did ANet do? For this new elite mission, everyone can get in! Yay! Does this make anyone happy? No, now it should be easy too! q.q
I hate to rant and I very rarely post when a big debate is going on, but this is just a rediculous issue. Learn to play. The zone isn't even hard if you have a clue.

They shouldn't need to nerf DoA, and noone should really worry about other peoples moaning and ranting about how hard it is. It happened when Sorrows Furnace was opened, it happened when The Deep and Urgoz's Warren were opened, it's happening now, and it will happen for all future elite missions. Just ignore them, someone ends up making a massively good group build, and people will then complain how overpowered some professions are based on that build - then Anet will go and nerf them, and we'll all be back at square one again. Kudos to the cycle of flames.

tho i agree on some people to get the rit hero in a place where every1 can get it and not just the few players who know/learn how to handle DoA.
the rit hero isnt that special to be put at the very end of a place 10x harder as UW and fow together.
as the description say, DoA is ELITE....NOT for the regular campaign player/farmer, and so i have no merci with those people who can only play 1 build with a programmed macro on their G15.

It is true that DoA is an elite area but really does it really req skill?
I consider skill to do thinking outside the box, reflex time and quick thinking.
In DoA your forced to use cookie cutter builds, you have to spend a lot time pulling mobs and if one player drops you lose.
When I read the box it said skill vs time playing and I liked that because I couldn't come on for extremely long periods of time. I expect Anet to live up to that promise.

Well now we know that the reward for killing the final boss, Malax, in this elite area is just a bunch of recycled skinned greens.
None of the 'rewards' in DoA are items or even the Hero, the only reward is for those that have fun facing a challenge, even if that challange is mostly getting into a group willing to run the standard builds and take the time to beat the quests.
There is absolutely no reason to 'nerf' the DoA, as there is nothing there for the average player, its just a zone for those who like the 'impossible' odds.
I just hope those that do enjoy it farm enough gems to lower the price so that the average player can still aquire the Ritualist Hero.
