So double chance gold drops...so what have u got

Did not buy tons of keys like some of you, but the ones I used resulted in crap, so I stopped buying them. Just not worth it to me to spend 750 on a key that gives you something to merch for 100. Guess I just have bad luck...

I found that the gold weapons (I got about 75% gold from all chests) were high req, not max damage but had good mods. The purple weapons all have max damage, low req (ex. purple flamberge 15-22, req9). So... I salvaged the gold mods and put them on the purple weapons. I only looted one gold weapon worth keeping (scythe) as it was low req and max damage.

Is purple the new gold?

Some purples (1/3), lots of golds (2/3), mostly junk. Kept the purple's (all max damage and r9. Went to heroes), kept 2 golds (max damage and r9 & r10respectively that look cool.), the rest got merched (r11-12 with crappy mods or worthless runes.)

Purple? How about blue? I found several Sun and Moon shield, purple and gold one with no reqs below 12. The best one I found yet is a blue one: req9, armor 16, inscriptible.

Not worth the trouble selling, so I pimped my Koss with it.

I've opened maybe 40 chests in DoA, got few very nice (perfect or really close to it) nightmare req 9 weapons for my paragon and my friend's dervish, a lots of nice mods and nonperfect weapons for my heroes, my wisdom and treasure hunter titles got a small boost and that's about it

No luck for me, 125 ancient keys, 15 golds, nothing worth selling. I guess chest runs just aren't for me.

Re Post for me since my first post wasn't at the end of the weekend.

At the end of the day I opened ~150 Vabbi Chests.

1) I was able to "break even" in cost just by pawning off some this and that mods/inscriptions I got along the way (3kea 15^50 +5e's, and such). I still have about 2-3 of each of those...

2) I got maybe 8 gold armors the whole time. 7 were silly things like Sup Soul Reaping, and 1 was Sup Healing Prayers.

3) As for Golds, at the start (first 100 or so) I was getting like 3-4 golds per 1 purple. By Sunday evening I was getting like 2 golds per 1 purple, or even 50/50 on some runs.

4) I counted, and I got over 15 gold Ornate Scythes out of the 150 or so chests (given that there are a ton of skins in the chests, getting almost 20 of them being not only the same type of weapon but same skin is funny). Like 7-10 of them were req9...I started giving them out to allied dervishes, but evenetally just started merching them...

5) I got 3 shield golds the whole time. a req12 Vabbian Defender, req12 Skeleton Shield (both had horrible mods), and finally a req10 Diamond Aegis with perfect stats - which ended up being probably the most expensive drop I got.

6) I got 2 gold Brute Swords....Both req12 though...gave guildie one of them, salvaged the other into 4 steel ingots..

7) I saved maybe 6-7 things to sell after the weekend. I'm r4 Treasure Hunter now, and ~30 away from r3 Wisdom Seeker.

Easily 80k+ in Vabbi keys running Mirror of Lyss

Good mods.
+30 sword (x2) +30 Bow (x2) -- sold for 20-22k and 8k respectively.

Gold runes seemed to drop around the gravebanes and behemoths.
1 superior vigor (My first in 6 months)

Best drops: Req 9 Command Diamond Aegis (Being Sold under the "Sell" forum) and then on Sunday I got a Req 9 Firey Blade Axe.

Salvaged 3 daggers for 1 ruby and 2 sapphire.


But what I noticed .. A HELL of a lot of "versus Undead" weapon mods.

I seem to have noticed that there is a "overfarming" type thing with chests. I got two very nice items a 15^50 Gemstone Axe and a nice Aegis. However, I got 4 gold Scythes and 3 bows that had "+ xx% damage vs Undead" and "Half cast time (10% chance)" and Req 13. That is as bad as it gets for a gold item (except back in the days when some gold items had no mods at all). Something is wrong when you get 7 golds in the row that have the same inscription, requirement, and suffix. I did get some purple daggers which I put a salvage inscription on and got a Sapphire, which recovered the cost of a lot of my keys.
