Silly Mistakes
Velvet Wing
I was trying for survivor the other day, my paragon was already at level 11, progressing steadily.. then lag kicked in, and in some weird way, I was killed (yes, weird... normally I don't die ) after that experience I decided to log out. 2 days later I decided to have another go at the whole survivor thingy and logged in to GW I waved goodbye at my paragon and deleted her to make a new one... Not realising I also had a near perfect spear, shield, perfect green hammer, sword and a self made rago's flame staff on her.. (and about 10k of change...)
When I walked around Kamadan on my new paragon and saw someone who wanted to buy a Rago's flame staff I openend my inventory to show the guy what I had to sell... only to realise I had been really really stupid...
After that I just started to play my para outa frustration... made it to survivor really really quick for some reason ^^

My ranger had 15k druid's (with a superior vigor rune of course) among other things. That is, until I slammed a few too many jello shots and deleted her instead of my PvP ranger.
Oops.

My main mistake (and it still happens occasionally) is "typing in team chat" when its not active , only to look up at screen and see lots of open windows and underneath it all you have run miles forward and aggroed evrything in your path.

Tried to salvage out a +30 bow grip but got 5 wood.
Note: This was back when +30 grips were worth 70k+.
Sold an ecto for 7g to a scammer
Error 7'd after a black dye dropped
Error 7'd halfway through Sunspear Castellian
Sold black dye to a merchant for 1 accidently.
Deleted 5 sigils from a pvp character instead of putting them in storage.

Stupid Shizno
Silliest mistake i am at fault is trying to orginize my runes, i have a lvl20 of each char, so when i get a rune ill put it in storage, then when i have time log onto the right char and take the rune and put it in a bag. in the process of this i deleted a couple superior vigs and blood a few times by having it to into trash instead of a bag =[
Sophitia Leafblade
listening to a friend who said u can use armour on new chars if they had the same name. Remade a Warrior and Mesmer who had 15k armour so i could remake them with different secondarys (so i could get lots of free skills from quests rather than having to change secondary in dessert and buying all the skills, since i was broke at the time)
v8nutty
Bought a sup rune of scythe mastry on NF first day for 150k (i *was* rich ... then) putting in on the chestpiece then immediately overwriting it with a major rune of Mystiscm grrrrrr.
Bought 5 x white dye for my dervish on day 1 for 21k each - now worth 5k each

I sold a req. 8 15^50 chaos axe to the merchant instead of the 17% while hexed one I meant to sell.
The Silver Star
I gave my brother all my 500 ectos, on his birthday because i forgot a present, however i stopped PvE anyway it sucks <3.
Olny real silly mistake i have done is waste my time getting them in first place <3

The moral of the story is this:
GW needs a buy-back option a la WoW.
I too have made many such mistakes, only recently selling a superior death rune at the marchant, and selling one of my build oriented axes I lovingly crafted back in Factions (although secretly I was happy about that one; Factions crafter axes were poo in the looks department).
Nothing on the scale of crafting multiple pieces of FoW boots mind.
Ouch, that's gotta hurt.

Another way could be to simply change the interface to selling to a sort of "bulk sale" interface a lot of RPGs use, where things are moved into a sell list and then the entire list is sold at once, giving you the opportunity to alter the list before you finally sell it all.

Anyway, I've had my fair share of merchant miss-sells and miss-deletions, including but not limited to:
1) A piece of my monk's 15k armor
2) A black dye
3) A character.
Yep, accidentally deleted (still don't know how) my monk... I actually wasn't too upset, he was pretty ugly. I remade him into a much better looking female canthan monk, but I was still pretty pissed because he had a fair amount of nice items on him >_<
Westofeden
I got to lvl 19 with my ranger with out dying then lag got me. Didn't really matter though he was Canthan so it didn't take too long.

Hi all

Disable bags and all your problems should go away... I know mine did.
Astro Hikaru
tanked craploads of lvl28 dervishes in DoA as the only obsidian flesh tank of my party.
when they're all dead and the dust settled, i realized my warrior was been fighting without any pants on. i actually forgot to wear it back after taking it off for faster suicide (vigor rune on it) through gates.
no wonder those little dervish balls kept running away from me!

I had a mesmer that I wasn't happy with. So promptly cleared out her inventory, moved money to storage and deleted her. A month or so later realised I didn't check what she was carrying. And I know for certain she had a rather nice gold shadow staff on her. I hate to think how many of the other characters Ive deleted, that I have forgotten to check what they are carrying.
MrTumnus
I sometimes type in team mode when I'm alone (like in pre-searing); I almost instinctively just it ctrl 3 and start typing. I've even started doing that when on msn. :/

I decided to get my warrior the primeval armor, so 1st time I beat Abaddon it turned out I forgot to take money and materials, second time I only took money with me and forgot to take materials, finally I was able to buy the armor on my 3rd try... I don't know why they won't make it as a mappable location to those who beat the game already.
That's the most recent I remember.

Biggest mistake? Probably the first time I learned how weapon swapping makes you drop the flag...
AxeMe
I entered PVP with my warrior and died within seconds. Later I noticed - that in changing some stuff around - I had neglected to equip a shield.

Another stupid mistake of mine was getting a Black Dye drop... and I forgot to pick it up -.- (was doing Sunjiang District with Henchies)
Cass
Heh I went out with my mesmer in Unwaking Waters to cap both a mesmer and an ele elite in one 'efficient' run. When I used the cap signet on that ele saltspray dragon and it showed no skills I realized I had forgotton to switch my secondary back from /Mo to /E. doh
J snukka
I went into a mission in Chapter 1 a year and a half ago with my Elementalist using fire skills but my attributes were all in Air from PvP.
Quid Pro Quo
When I first started I got a free FDS. I was amazed with it I mean it was nearly max and only req. 11! I was very happy with it thinking I was starting out great in the game.. until I accidentally merch'd it. I learned from then on to be much more careful and never have done anything like that again whether I'm buying or selling.
Yeah, I got really lucky selling prized garbage but at the time it was.. kind of a big deal.

My worst two are not that bad really:
When Sorrow's Furnace was just opened, people were simply swapping greens with each other. My very first drop was Brohn's Staff. Playing a Ranger, I really wanted one of the new green bows, so I swapped it for "The Stinger".. Do'h!
Secondly, I once merchanted a small pile of about 8 ectos.. I had had several successful runs in UW one evening and had not bothered putting them into storage.
The worst mistake I know of though was my son, who just after the release of Factions, decided to put his Kuunavang on a PVP char for some unknown reason, and then deleted the char!

Deleting my favouritest character ever by accident. Took 5 seconds and 250 hours work was gone. Every elite from prophecies and factions, dragos flatbow, a green zealous and a grean vampiric bow, even kanaxais maul for pve bunny thumper. Pet spider as well. I was so sad, and have never enjoyed GW as much since...

Forgetting the ghostly hero in HoH.
Rogue42
Deleted one of my mules and he was less than a month away from his birthday. Wonder what he would have gotten.

Fighting a pack of Jade Armors with an uninfused survivor mes.
Fighting the Discord boss (for skillcap #90) with 7 henchies and no prot-spirit as a 1.2M exp survivor mes.
At least I got the title on the second try. >_<

After accidently merching some Shards, I now keep a Non-Merchable item in the first slot of my last bag, & put all valuables behind it. That way I will not be able to lag sell anything I wanna keep.
Franco Power
I bought Nightfall...
Clawdius_Talonious
Besides having sold stuff to the merch that I didn't mean to, I've gone into the Random Arena with my attributes misassigned once... The end of the second win I left my team, because who can monk with 4 healing prayers, really?
Also, I accidently took Elonian Leather instead of Fur for my Ranger Primeval armor, that was an annoying mistake. I didn't inform a guildmate about the worth of his Bone Dragon, and he sold it for 20k, that's not my fault but still ouch! I deleted my level 20 Rt (with a superior restoration rune) two days after Factions was released, because it was using a name that I had used for PVP only characters and by the time I realized it I had already typed the name and deleted the character (of course then I noticed I had Birthday Presents, sold those for enough to more than recoup any money lost then).

Joined a new guild on an old friend's invite. One of the first "let's go out and get to know each other" things we did was take my necro up from Rankor to cap FoC. I hadn't gotten around to charging up there by myself yet, but I knew you had to be careful because if he died underground you couldn't use the cap.
We fight our way up there, bs'ing and having a grand old time. I'm just in hog heaven smiling and thinking, "Yeah! I think I can have a good time with this crew!" Totally forgot to mention to any of them the warning not to let him die underground.
What a great first impression - Hi! I know something really critical to our task, and I won't bother to mention it! The guys were way cool about it, and we did it over. I felt more dumb for that one than any merchant mishaps though.
Second place for me is taking friends out to The Falls as the map expert. No matter how many times I go, even though I know it's there and practically invisible at first, I still always have to run around in a few circles finding that tree bridge.
