So far I've seen theories ranging from "It starts at 12 noon!" to "Press Alt+F4 to start Wintersday!". Some people are also pretending to be Anet employees and talking about power outages and server problems :S

I've also heard 12 noon PST but those could be rumors. ANet should have posted a specific time on their page just like with previous events. I've been in LA for the past 1 1/2 hours running around and partying on the boat which is still going on atm with no "A new build is up" messege popping up so I'm going to bed.

And they are late yes, because they said wintersday would be 13 days long, and they're site counts down till (less than) 12 days for the finale, which is the last day of Wintersday.

Tyria and Elona are right by each other if you look at it. Plus Elona had some lore to do with the Krytan Mad king Thorn visiting on Halloween so no doubt there will be some connection this time aswell.

Past noon PST now, by 30 minutes and still no event and no word. The description of the wintersday event says it's supposed to last 13 days... it would have if it went from the very start of the 20th, to the beginning of the 2nd, but at this rate we're not even going to get 11 days.
Why can't anet just tell us what's up?
More than likely they haven't perfected the reconnect after disconnect patch and they want to make sure that it works how it should before releasing it. You know how anet likes to make something that important as part of a huge update. I'm expecting to see a lot of fixes, new features, skill reblanace, and all the wintersday stuff on the same patch. Sure would be nice to hear what Gaile has to say.
