Its a shame. Its too bad that a few leechers ruined it for everybody, I wanted the booze myself. I wish anet could have fixed it another way though, like removing the spiked eggnog from a players inventory if no movement was detected for a given length of time. So thanks leechers for ruining my fun, I guess I will find something else to do that a freeloading leecher can't ruin for me.

yesterday i was seeing CC shards go for 100g ea, and Spiked Eggnog go for 200g lol
so yep, i think it encouraged leechers

There's always something to complain about. YOu can never run out of complaints.

Player participation is dropping because there's no spiked eggnog is just an assumption. I like the titles, and that's why I'm playing. At least people are a little more sober when they're playing the arenas.

Yea all the BOTS were doing is going in there and having a script reenter the mission for them. Why would Anet reward for that? I'm glad its gone. as to the quiters. If they quit the battle make it so they can not return for a FULL 24hrs. Problem solved. Should do the same thing in PvP.

ARGH...you know, i hate leechers as much as the next person...but since when did they care about leechers? FA is chock full of em, as well as some arenas...to the point where i've stopped playing there altogether, and i've reported them a zillion times and nothing gets done...yet somehow its more important to stop leechers in a darn holiday snowball fight. i only liked the snowball fights cuz you win even if you lose. instead of ruining the rewards for those who do bother to play, how about finally acknowledging that leeching is a big problem and ban those players from the areas they leech in?

I wish I'd got my hands on some of that eggnog, before they nerfed it. Tried the snowball fights several times today and got nothing (always on the losing team). Frankly, I found the whole experience boring/irritating, but then I'm not a PvP'er. Eggnog would probably have improved my spirits some, though.

If you get anything for not winning, anything at all, there will be leechers. It will be Fort Aspenwood all over again.

They do actually ban leechers. I should know because I've reported many of them never to see them log on again (maybe a coincidence?). Maybe your just unlucky... although I do agree it's the idiots that ruin everything. But we shouldn't reward them for screwing everyone over. I think the system that detects if any activity takes place in the fight would be nice. If it doesn't detect anything you get zilch.

For all: You just need to take the effort to right out a quick problem form to Anet on the site (screenshot helps). I know it takes some time, but if we try to get rid of them as best we can, eventually Anet won't have to nerf because of so many leechers.

I guarentee 1 out of 1000 leechers is ever reported... that's Anets fault really because their system for reports is tedious, but I'll live with it as long as it serves it's purpose. /new report system

I do however, wish the eggnog was back. I can't hold my Wintersday Events until I get a stock of them to give away. :\

This new event dependent title only encourages farmers / jerks / rage quitters.

Seriously, if they want to include titles like this, make them available year-round and NOT count toward KoBD and PKM. This way, if you really did enjoy snowball fighting, you could just go to Yak's Bend and jump in whenever you wanted to, then show people your Master Snow-Packer (5) title that doesn't count toward your overall title track.

Lemme get this straight... they fix the AFK/leech problem in the snowball arena not even a day into it, but it still occurs in Alliance Battles/Fort Aspenwood when Factions has been out for roughly 8 months? You can sell ale, you can trade faction for amber/jadeite (then sell), what is the difference exactly?

They should fix that but it doesn't use the same mechanics at all, and isn't as easy to fix.

(I know, that sad situation when a few bad applies spoil it for the rest of us.) Leeching and AFKing is a common complaint from players, and we understand why! It's frustrating to have a team made up of people who've gone out for the night, or who are sleeping or watching telly but who are reaping undeserved rewards for doing nothing.

If some player feel that ArenaNet was wrong to make this change, consider this: We didn't make the change needlessly or without cause. Instead, we made an appropriate response to exploitation and/or abuse. So if things were changed, and if we players are a little poorer for it, the blame doesn't rest with ArenaNet, it lies with those who were knowingly twisting the system. Frankly, I'm sorry for the disappointment and I'm saddened by the change, but I agree it had to be done.
