Well, I don't want to really knock this off topic, but if someone could just explain what Haruhiism is that would be helpful.
EtherealByte
The wallpapers/keychains e.t.c. are from an anime called the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya. Funny show... i guess haruhi lovers have a religion of their own called haruhiism?

Wow, your a really great drawer. Do you know of any websites that have some tips on how to draw? And how did you learn to draw, did you just keep practicing sketching things whenever you could? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, I'm just interesting in becoming a better drawer myself. Anyway, keep up the great work!
Mistical miss
I'm a bit of an artist myself as well, and I can tell you this:
If you want to do a good drawing you have to get the anatomy right (or atleast the way u like to have it)...
To do that, its pretty easy to use urself as the object.
First picture the pose, then go stand in that pose yourself, see where ur knees are, where ur arms end and stuff like that...
Arms are longer than most ppl think, so are legs
For a more realistic style, measure ur head (about 1.5 spreaded hand if u have long fingers) then measure ur body in the same way... then project that information on your drawing.
For the hands, hold your own hand like in the pose your drawing and look at it (if possible)
Look where the fingers end up, which are longer from which view, and is the tumb on the backside or on the front? (Seen some ppl make that mistake)
If you go for a somewhat more Eggy-style...
Then the head is somewhat bigger, breasts somewhat higher, legs longer and thinner, and the lines are much different from realistic style.
For instance, the way Eggy draws a head, they have a very pointed chin most often (which looks great in that style)..
The most difficult part is the pose, by far (which eggy does really really well *jealous*)
Some hints on poses: Don't make the character have a straight back, it usually makes them look like they are frozen solid..
Draw the S curve of a woman's back early in your drawing, it makes it easier to draw the rest right (shoulders/arms/head/legs) as then you have something to hold on to..
If u try a view from the side, don't place one leg exactly behind the other, try to show both arms or it might look like something is missing..
Don't start with hard angles early on, not a good plan
A womans upper legs are fatter and longer than you think
A person with arms stretched by the side, go down to half the upper legs.. (nearly at the knees), this is LONG
If u draw women, draw hips (or they look like men)
Hands are big
I can't do feet so I won't tell u anything about feet
I hope this helps......
Btw Eggy, very very nice drawings, like nearly all of them especially the more swingy poses

Mistical Miss,
As I have not yet found any mistakes on egnik's drawings, wich I think are great btw ( I only don't order one because I myself have no money). I think those tips will be useful for many other people who aspire to be great drawers like me. I'm fourteen years old and everybody I personally know say I'm a great drawer ( for my age, of course), I've realized I have a problem with poses. My pictures all seem static and frozen. I've been trying to supress that problem but it hasn't been working out.
Egnik, keep drawing, your works are really masterpieces. When I get one platinum, I'll order a picture of a paragon. I don't want to fill you up with work, though.

Really awesome artwork! Hmm...I'd like to give you a little constructive critisism, but there isn't really anything to say.
Keep it up!
And by the way, maybe you should add in something into the thread title, to indicate you aren't taking any new commissions at the moment?

this 2 are few sites that i found. first one is the best source though cuz u can also see different artist and their own way of drawing.
i have explained in page 7 about how i draw, but most important thing is practice.
before high school i used to doodle on my notebook
after that i always had sketchbook with me, doodling when im bored.
i still have problem drawing hands and feet but its getting better
also mistical miss is right.
i never used my own body as model, i mean why wold i want to use skinny guy like me as model? (not to mention i rather draw girl)
i use porns.. ahem i meant adult site.
nothing hardcore.
more of softcore where women is posing such as sports illustrated swimsuit photo.
usually most pictures taken by pros are better in lightning so its easier to draw
and drawing them in different poses is best way to learn about proportions and what mistical miss said as 'frozen solid'
i call it 'flow', and its best way to make picture look natural as is.
such as how hair 'flows' around wind how cloth 'flows' while moving and how body 'flows' while dancing. things like that.
oh and as for proportions, its always different for every human, so there is no set proportion.
but what mistical miss said is general idea how human should be drawn.
oh and by all means post ur pictures. i dun mind looking at other pictures and commenting them

Me neither if you aren't afraid of critique that is... perhaps when I have time I can post critical comments on your works Eggy.. (only if I have a lot of time, as u made a lot of works.. and if you would like some building critique)

Really good work on that one, especially the pose! His right hand is somewhat small though (though its hard to see with this pose so it doesn't spoil the picture at all).. good work on the foot :P

Heheh. Maybe you should change the original title of the thread so that people will see your not taking on any more work atm? It would save everyone concerned a little trouble, if you ask me. Anyway, 20-something characters to go then it's my turn
On the note about posing your drawings, that is one thing I'm not good with. Since I don't really get time to practice drawing at all, that and proportion both suffer greatly at my hands. I've been looking around online for some action poses to practice on too, but I've had no luck. Maybe I should look at some manga for inspiration, since you tend to find a lot of striking poses used within that genre. Still, when I actually get some time and space to myself, I shall try and pick up again. (I honestly find that the hardest thing about drawing is the first pencil-stroke.)
Well, enough of my random complaining about my utter lack of talent - I like the poses on your last two, even down to the initial four toes on Whoo!'s monk - I think it gives the image character, even if it is an obvious error.
So, Who's after Whoo! ?

Moa bird, if you have trouble doing proportions, try these:
- If you draw hands next to the body or at same distance as the body, just hold the hand as you want it to be, then measure it (you can do this with ur other hand, doesnt have to be in inches or centimetres or anything like that, just keep your fingers apart)...
And then compare it to your face and legs and chest..
Assuming you set the face as the thing to base your drawing around (many nonproffesional artists do for some reason) now u know the lenght of all the parts of the body in a realistic way... for anime styles, make the head bigger and breasts as well...
If you start drawing hands further to the front it gets harder (like when you have the character having a hand in front of his/her face), something you can try is this:
A realistic hand is about 3/4th of a face, hold your hand away as far as you want the character to hold it, keep it stretched. Now hold the other hand right in front of your face. The hand near your face is the hand of the character, then hand in front of you is 3/4th of the face...
if you do not understand the above, just say so I will try to explain it again..
