do we stand by dwaynas carolers for hat?

My char is in LA for hours.. nothing happened yet... euros servers had tons of hats

There's a problem with this event, in that most people stand around near the tree (as they did for the Mad King event). That's where Dwayna appears, and most people will notice that. I didn't read the forums before going on today, and I suspect like most people, didn't even see Grenth's avatar hiding away up there near the carol singers.

They should really have made both avatars appear on opposite sides of the tree imho. The majority of GW players don't read the fansite forums, and probably quite a lot didn't see Grenth (I know I didn't, and I specifically turned camera around when I noticed the "Grenth" chat..)

Woot, got my antlers and hat at the same time. Easy to do with 80 districts .

Just to confirm: you CAN get multiple hats/antlers for the same character. All mine now have a santa hat and antlers

Is it safe to assume that new year's eve is the last day of this event? I am out of town and will be unable to get these items if so. I'd really hoped that tomorrow was wintersday and that I had a better chance of getting the items. I have seen pictures of these items and oh the jealousy. Are they customized? I'm assuming so. Thanks for the help.

if u dont have one.. place u r char .. idling where the avatar u want is supposed to appear .. when u ll return u ll get ur hat/antler

Before you whine about not getting a santa hat on Christmas day, you should stop and consider that in many countries/cultures, Santa's visit and Christmas do not coincide, and are often separated by weeks. Just because we do it one way in America doesn't mean it's the same as everyone else, and it is an international game.

Now, stop and think about it from a logistical standpoint. Christmas is different from Halloween in that you may go out for a few hours on Halloween, but Christmas is marked by people travelling, often long distances, to be with family. This makes it more difficult to be near a computer at a few opportune times to get special goodies. Holding the event at New Year's makes it easier for more players to participate in the festivities and from that view, it makes a lot more sense.

You think it's too late to wear your santa hat around? Halloween's been over for a couple months now and that hasn't stopped people from wearing pumpkin heads. I for one will be wearing my santa hat and red fur-lined armor for some time. Maybe until we get four leaf clovers or easter bunny ears....

Hehe yeah, that was crazy. I went to a grenth district to get antlers and hadn't a clue what to expect if he won, thought we'd just get a few spiked eggnogs. How wrong I was :P

In case anyone wondered

What time during the event can you switch characters/districts to get multiple items? Do you do it before or after the winner is announced? It seems like people who came in after the winner was announced couldn't get their hat.

You have to be there at the exact time they give the hats i think.

its fine if you idle as long as you are near the ghost who wins. im pretty sure the majority of the people who are waiting for hats are just idling

i already have 2 yule hats. waitin for my 2nd set of antlers now.
