Hi again Aylee, been thinking of a few little things I thought I might suggest. My last post mentioned if you could add "Always on top" option for windowed mode guild wars but I don't know if you saw it. I also decided to start using your character's thing. I when I made a new character I was lookin' at the buttons and I thought it would be more appropriate for cancel to be called closed, in case people make a character and think "uh oh, how do I close this without undoing what I just done?"
And finally I was thinking it would be easier to read off the elites if when you right clicked it, the pop-up box stayed up until you clicked the pop-up box.
Keep up the great work I can't really tell you how much I appreciate your tool as I'm on dial-up and browsing wiki for info tends to be a hassle. Thanks again!

I want to say thanks a lot, too.
The best things are that the program is small, I copied it in my GW directory. It also takes little resources and it runs very well in windowed mode. This makes it easy to play GW windowed and keep it open. This allows me to check the next region for Elite skills I might need beforehand.
Much better than browing on Wiki, which unfortunately got slow lately.

I agree with you. MappingOut uses about 10Mb of memory. When you load the greatest map, it reaches 13mb, but never grows bigger than this. I see other gw tools using 170mb of RAM... this is quite insane!

As you seem to be online atm, one quick suggestion:
Elite Skills that you already captured are shown as green shields with a checkmark. But it is no longer displays WHICH elite you captured there, only the green item.
It would be nice if the skill could still be displayed, as some Elites are worthwhile for several classes. I capped Ebon Dust Aura e.g. for Warrior, Ranger, Paragon and Dervish.

Here's in details what was in my mind, when I chose this kind of behavious (with captured elite, not mine behaviour
):
- the green shield with a sword on it means there is a greeny there (I stole the image from Wiki... shhhh)
- the combobox in the menu window allow you to choose you charcater. If you captured an elite with your warrior and choose itself in the "not captured by", MappingOut won't show that elite. Heres a quick change Jerneh Nightbringer no longer spawns in Marga Coast. I've done several runs (I kept forgetting why i hadn't capped it there) and he has never appeared. As well, wiki comfirms the fact that he no longer spawns there.

My guildmates had a couple of questions about possible new additions, so I thought I gather them up and ask. I've gotten my entire guild hooked on it. We all love it!
Would it be possible to add a green item checklist, similar to the elite checklist, for those of us that like to collect the unique weapons?
How much trouble would it be to add a mission / quest checklist? Or possibly just a quest-giver locator?

On the other side, missions are not so much, and I have thought about them yet. I'm thinking about a huge update, with bigger maps fully explored (not so much bigger, just a little bit), outposts and towns drawn by my own, so I can also add a mission check list and the NPCs in every outposts... But I am only thinking about it... just thinking

The green list being unlinked to a particular character would work quite well, I think. I figured the quest idea would be a bit much, but I promised I'd ask anyway. As for the missions, I'd personally love a master's/bonus checklist on that.

I'm starting to wonder what you'll do when you run out of things to do on Mapping Out.
Mayhaps you have new projects planned for when that happens? See, I wish I could do the things you can, because I would love to make like a Skills Dictionary where I can quickly find out where to get even the most obscure skill and all that jazz. But the most I could do towards something like that is copy the info and paste it all in notebook. T_T

Hey Aylee! I went to cap Aura of Faith last night and discovered you have it placed incorrectly in the Ring of Fire mission. It (Coventina) should spawn just a few centimeters north of where you currently have it placed. It's just south of that thin stream of lava that you have to walk through when you go through the mission.

I would like to add a request, to be able to show elites for more than one proffesion at one time.
For example,
Im a Paragon / Dervish
And im looking for Elites in Kourna.
So it would be
Campaign : Nightfall
Region : Kourna
Zone : All
Proffesion : Paragon + Dervish
Because i find myself having to click on one proffesion then back to another all the time. Would be excellent if you can implement that!!

Here is a copy of my MappingOut screen:
This shows the [C] in the wrong spot, and where the red X's are. This makes it look like Coventina spawns right at the start of the mission. I sure wish THAT were true when I was capping her elite. =)
And actually, it appears that all of the elites in Ring of Fire mission show up that way:
Does that help explain what is wrong? None of the [C] locations in the circle should be there.

So the legend of [A] [B] [C] has to be put somewhere.
Its because all Ring of Fire spawns can be any one of the bosses, hope this clears it up..

If it's just a placeholder (legend) then it is misleading because it makes it appear that any boss can spawn right at the beginning of the mission. Some of the other areas have the [C] off to the side and not on the actual map. Am I the only one that saw this as an error?

It only appears as an error when you select one class's elite, because it appears to show it spawning at the beginning.
If you actually read the [C] it says she can spawn at any of the red x's.
So its not an error, just a bit confusing.

Unfortunately, I had to place the elite markers somewhere, and I chose those locations, at the beginning of the mission. Now, I realized they create confusion... maybe I should move them more close to the "Ring OF Fire" outpost.
Moreover, a similar representation can be found in "Mineral Spring" and "Grenth's Footprints" (Southern Shivepeaks).
If anyone can find a better solution than the one I have chosen, please let me know... I will change it to make it clearer

Just wonderin', are Resurrection Shrines going to be in the next update? I'm really needing them for my Sunspear and Lightbringer point farming. :S

I guess the only solution I can come up with would be to move those boxes to the left, over the water, vertically along the border of Abbadons Mouth. At least then nobody *cough* could think they were actual spawn points. =)

Just a note to say thanks for an awsome prgram. I grabbed it and have made a profle of all 10 of my charcters. Now I just reference it to see where I need to go. Thanks again. I recommend it for any serious GW player. I would give you money for this program but you prolly couldn't take any. Thanks again!

Surely they won't be added in next updates, maybe I will work on them, when I will have finished some other major feature (on the top, at the moment, I think I should place a "multilanguage option"... since MappingOut has reached lots of foreign countries

For this time only, you have to choose "La Ruota Del Tempo [RdT]" server ftp, from the two available. "The Lair" ftp server won't work this time. Since next update, it will work again.

Hi Aylee. Been a while since I saw anything happen to this thread. Nope, no suggestions this time I just wanted to see what you're up to.
Can we expect more to come from MappingOut? I can't believe this isn't getting more popularity this is the best tool I've found on any of the fansites and yet suddenly all talk just stops here. Making me wonder if everyone moved over to your website and chatting it up about the tool there. XD

Haven't been able to update to the lastest version yet, but didn't see them addressed in your notes. These are issues I found in the previous version:
Realm of Torment is misspelled as Real of Torment in the zone dropdown.
The treasure chest in the Ruptered Heart is sorta close to where it actually appears, but not quite there. It is further north in the rocky zone after you go through that little curl of yellow sand next to the NPC ghost there.

Hi everybody,
I'm not disappeared
... As I said a couple of messages above, I was working on my degree thesis. Since I proceeded faster than I expected, I also worked "a bit" on MappingOUt ghgh
Actually, this "bit" is not so small, and I'm nearly to release another update, which would be a "great" update in my opinion. Here's a little briefing of the upcoming news:
- I added ALL missing maps for Tyria and Cantha (Ascalon pre and post searing, Northen Shivepeaks, Kryta, Maguuma and Shing Jea island)
- I also added ALL missing collectors and ALL missing greens (so, now you can find ALL collectors, even the low level ones)
- other smaller and not so smaller updates, which I will list once I release the new version...
As I wrote, It will be a quite big update, infact the new version will be v3.0.0.
Btw, since I completed most of the things I had in my mind, I think that I will release it very soon... maybe this night (at my GTM +1) ghgh

Those errors you pointed out had been corrected in version 2.0.0.
If you still haven't been able to update the program, try these three methods:
1) Choose the second ftp server address, so not the default one ("The Lair"), but "La Ruota Del Tempo"
2) go to my guild forum ad download the full version 2.0.1

3) wait till I release next update and download THAT full version ghghgh
