How do you choose your ingame names?

All my PvE characters share the surname Angelis, which is derived from Latin and is part of the name of one of the oldest clans I was ever involved in.

R/ -- Faith Angelis
M/ -- Grace Angelis
W/ -- Hope Angelis
N/ -- Serenity Angelis
A/ -- Trinity Angelis

As you can see all the first names are inspired by Christian dogma. Don't ask me why, I just like the names!

And it's better than Legolas.

Dictionary, accept for my warrior and my pvp char. War was thought up by the skill "sever artery" his name is Severed Art

and my pvp char was named after spikes "Wtf Spike"

My first two characters were named after my cats' nicknames.
The rest is Greek mythology for Tyria and Cantha and Egyptian / Middle East for Elona.
New chapters will give new possibilities for names, if I cannot think of one I go back to Greek mythology.

I just make them up mostly, then find out someone else has the same name.

Lenny although, the first part was suppose to be after Lemmy from Motorhead, I couldn't at the time remember if his name was Lenny or Lemmy and somehow went with Lenny.

Hello Im Bunny Two came from Hello Im Bunny One, which was my ele's I named after the rabbit in tyrian pre.

Hug Me Im Cute Girl came from the guys that hit on Bunny Two, I was going to toy with them but ended up most though I was a guy so that didn't work.

Nevermore Owns Us, because Nevermore is a great band and they own us.

Naughty Boy Porlest because well, I'm a naughty boy and that surname stuck.

Except for my first (and main) character, most of mine are derived from characters in some of my favourite films and tv shows, without making them too obvious though. There are a few other bits thrown in too.

The Dark Grenth(N): Named after.. Well you know who

The Immortal Blade(W): Named after a guild that i was part of in another game

Floral Fatalis(Mes): Now I started my "Fatalis" sur name

Reaping Fatalis(D): Reaping as in scythe, Get it?, No? Oh Well

Icarus Fatalis(P): I think he was somekind of Greek person or something? I dunno but it spunds parragonish.

Sentinent Divinia Six(M): No matter how much explaining I do you will not figure out this name (well you might if your in my guild )

Defy Arrows(R): Meh I didn't like this name but you cant change it now.

Deadly Fatalis(PvP): Its deadly cause you kill people, you know the likes.

My names are a mix but most of them are Latin mixed with a bit of Greek goddess such as:
Ele- Nyx Astalder- Nyx a goddess of night while Astalder means Valiant Star
Rang- Areiya Fatalis- Areiya is made up completely but Fatalis means of destiny
Rit/Ele- Xalari Phoenix- Xalari is a rough form of spirit(maybe not from Latin I can't remember) While Phoenix of course is fire related
Necro- Vague Twilight- this one is just me, I just liked it ^_^

Capitan Amazing is from a movie (a cookie for who knows which one), It's actually captain amazing, but that one was taken.
Imbalanced Was Izzy is just a funny name (no offense izzy, I think you're doing a good job but I just thought the name was funny as hell)

Actually its rather fitting. Icarus was the son of Daedylus(if I remember correctly), the man that invented the Labrynth. To escape the Labrynth, he created wings so they could fly away, but Icarus flew to close to the sun and melted the wings. He sunk into the sea and died. Since, Paragon's show wings occasionally, its a rather nice match up you made.

And yes its Greek.

My four chars in GW are all anagrams of my first and last names (such as Ralli Pemirl).

When I played WOW I used Tongan names (the only other language I know). Players said they thought I was a Chinese or Indian farmer based on those names, though, so I eventually regretted doing that.

Up untill Nightfall, I just made up names.

Curse You (necro) - for obvious reasons
Berserker Stella (warrior) - just made up the berserker part, then thought of a random female name
Gale Phoenix (elementalist) - both skill names, I was considering Gale Maelstrom.
Offering of Health (monk) - play on the name of Offering of Blood
Lucy of Gaia (ranger) - I think I had been playing the AoM Titans expansion...
Slinker Sean (assassin) - same as with Stella
Spirit Flesh (ritualist) - for obvious reasons
Tyana Virtue (paragon) - looked up an african name
Zealot Darweshi (dervish) - Darweshi means "holy one"

Dancing Chipmunk (PvP ranger) - result of me asking my guild for a character name

Usually I pick a name that sounds RP-ish. Most of my characters surnames are "Aylomen" which is what my brother used on his first char. However, some are media-inspired, like Marion (rit) from Requiem for a Dream. My Necro is Sabriel, from book of the same name, along with Albino Dwarfboy, a warrior whose name references albino dwarfs (it's from the same book series). I have a couple of names that are just for fun, though, like Itchy Itchy Ranger (Was supposed to be itchy itchy scratchy, but that was one character too long :/ ). My oldest char, an ele, is named Ozymandias after the poem by Shelley.

I pick my names based on my character and how I want them to be. My main character - Darkness Warrior. Its a warrior, and he is evil!

I usually pick mine from an anime or video game I like unless it is a character for RP then I make it up.

Regneva Kanji = Regneva = Avenger reversed, Kanji = Japanese writing style (Cantha char)
Enile Forest = Name that a friend of me thought of, she created this char for me.

Simon Sez Disco: Looks a bit like Simon from Demolition Man, and the disco is because his armor is blue\red\green\yellow

Rena Sapphireblade (E/W) : My 1st and most favoured character. Rena is just a name I like the sound of, (I have a soft spot for names that end with a pronounced 'a' ) Sapphireblade is a RP surname that I've had for years and I use it on several characters.
Krysten Riega (W/R) : Krysten was a wordplay on the name of an old friend of mine and Riega was REALLY random
Evil Aimee (Mo/Me) : Evil, because she's a monk that doesn't heal and Aimee 'cause it sounds cool
Mina Sunfire (A/R) : Mina; another name ending in 'a' and suitable for a canthan asssassin. Sunfire was a surname I had a lot of trouble coming up with, you see I like surnames that have a definite flow to them.
Evil Xiang (Mo/Me) : My healing monk. Evil, because i decided that all my monks should be 'Evil' and Xiang after Sun Shang Xiang from Dynasty Warriors.
Guardian Flonne (E/Me) : Skit of a certain scene from a certain NiS game
Luserina Stormblade (D/Mo) : Named after Luserina Barows from Suikoden V. Surname was another difficult one that I just dreamed up.
Lyon Falenas (W/Me) : Another Suikoden V name.
Andarc Daedalus (P/W) : Forename is taken from a Suikoden Tactics character. Daedalus just suits Paragons as a surname, I think.
Alexandra Gaeafoot (E/P) : Goofy name that I kinda regret...
Erinia The Depraved (N/) : Are Necromancers depraved? Do I even want to answer that?
Wen Kuhai (Rt/P) : Random, but inspired somewhat by Chinese names
Freya Stormsinger (R/W) : Freya, because every Freya I've met has been really quite badass and Stormsinger because, well, it sounds quite cool

Reika Saphireblade (W/E) : Rena wanted a sister, thus, Reika was created. The one 'p' in her surname was a typo.
Setsuna Katsumiki (R/Rt) : My 1st ranger. Long forgotten in favour of other characters. Name is psuedo-japanese
Eleanor Chanservant (N/R) : I wanted 'Elena' but one of the guildies already had an Elena, so I didn't want to blatantly steal. Chanservant is an in joke with the guild about the "Cult of Chan." Don't ask any more
Takara Kirinfang (Me/N) : Pretty much the only reason I still go on my second account, name is also psuedo-japanese, surname was another inspired moment by moi
Cleopatra Ravensong (E/N) : My lightning Ele. Called her Cleo, cause u just don't see that name around very much. And Ravensong was just a creepyish thing I decided on

Kuro Sapphireblade (A/W) : Kuro just sounds Asian, I dunno, I just like the name. Sapphireblade, because each of my accounts has to have at least one.
Fritz Sapphireblade (E/Me) : Fire Ele, hence, Fritz. Also lowest level character that I've played for any length of time. (lvl16)
Yukie Setsukage (W/N) : Literally: Setsunakage "Fleeting Shadow" was the inspiration for the surname. Yukie was just another name I liked the sound of
