How do you choose your ingame names?
lambda the great
Was watching a uhh....chicken fight...on umm you tube...and uhh there was a bloddy chicken....shh og and I was like red chicken....but chickens are the weak force of the birds so I chose rooster, but I lied I got it from tip of a pair of skies my dad was sharpening it's a red rooster, but red rooster was taken from an elementalist a old guildy of mine saw like 9 months back in gates of kryta....so I put the x on the end cause that's a variable for anyname I want./ here's a quote form my friend, but the images have expired so.... "Not only did he have one Rooster.... He had 2 Cocks up his sleave.... " lol I'm done...
Winterclaw
About half of my characters I got names from various anime.
Jirn Drake (W/E) - My first PC I made and beat the game with, now a mule. I made up the name for EVE before that game came out (didn't end up getting it because of the beta but I hear it's gotten a ton better). Jirn because it sounded like a futuristic form of Jim and drake because I kind of like fantasy dragons.
Linna Excel (W/Mo) - Hails from tyria. Linna comes from Bubblegum Crisis 2040 and Excel from none other than Excel Saga. I usually call her Excel because Linna is her family name.
Linna Hyatt (A/Mo) - Excel's canthan cousin. Hyatt is Excel's friend/coworker/roommate in Excel Saga. Once again, Linna is the family name.
Winter Snowstar (E/W or E/Mo) - A hydromancer so the name fit.
Sapphire Silversong (Me/Mo) - A mesmer that wears blue. She was my original healer until I got factions and made
Kirara the Mikumaru (Mo/E) - A healer/water mage. Kirara because I like the name (even if it was sango's pet) and Mikumaru because it means water priestess.
Beautiful Emotions (P/W) - from an anime song. Kind of fits because paragons have chants and other "songlike" skills.
Fully Coolly (Rit/Mo) - From the anime FLCL... wasn't even thinking about the anime's usual english spelling (fooly coolly) when I made her.
Ginfuyu Icewind (D/Mo) - Thought it sounded cool. Her first name means silver winter. Picking out her hairstyle was a pain because dervishes have so many good ones.
Moa Bird Cultist: you should make a male monk named Evil Betty.
Jetdoc: Go Dolphins!

Cataclysm2000
After seeing people like Borat the Brave running around, I decided to name my war Amy the Asskicker. Since its convenient to not have vastly different names I stuck with Amy.
Amy the (Insert profession specific adjective here)
Amy the Asskicker
Amy the Abhorred
Amy the Accurate
Amy the Adjurer
Amy the Assailant
Amy the Annihilator
Recently I made more PvP chars and started naming them in German. (insert favorite target here) Abwherkanone
My war is Panzer Abwherkanone (Anti-Tank Cannon) due to his ability to lock horns with other melee professions and dominate them
My sin is Magie Abwherkanone (Anit-magic cannon) because I like taking out eles, monks and mesmers... Magic users

relt
i grew up watching my brother play rpgs and he always used a particular name, somewhat derived from his own (tim->tinnon) i sort of stole it for my first few years of rpg playing, but eventually i decided i needed my own name. i sat in my room and thought for a while, looking for a simple name, but a distinct name as well. so, eventually i settled on the name relt and now use it for every username. if relt is somehow taken i use the name whostolerelt to express my frustration . in guild wars i use relt as my character's first name and then i search for a word that describes the character, but one that very few people would know about, generally from a book. my assassin, for example, is Relt Malaq al' Haq, arabic for "bringer of death" i believe, taken from Dan Brown's Angels and Demons.
Riken Chrono
i name them after girlfriends >_>
