definitely! you can't release minipets with sounds, and then de-bark them. give our minipets their voices back!!

I've been on the receiving end of a Jungle Troll once through a mission, and I was ready to kill that player and leave them for the Stone Summit to deal with. I *hated* the constant roaring. It's bad enough when you've got a mob of them on your back, but I sure as heck don't need that constantly.
Much better suggestion imo is to just allow the player who placed the mini to hear that sound. Them and only them. A.Net already does that with the armor noises and footsteps, don't see why they don't do that with the minis.

But make it optional.
But make it optional.

I agree that they should add the mini pet noises for just the player who owns the pet. Although I've never been in a mission with people with mini pets out, I can imagine how annoying it would be. So, make it like footsteps and armour.
But, if they don't do that, then I at least want the sound back in explorable areas.

Keep them mute. It makes for more peaceful gaming for everyone.

I would rather have miniatures making sounds in explorable areas than displaying minipets inside towns.

I'm in favor of any solution that involves me not having to hear minipets at all.

I don't mind them in towns, in fact it's kinda cool to see them running about but I put Kuunavanag away quickly because she's such a noisy bugger. I actually prefer her gagged (in towns), BUT I still like to hear her roar when I'm out mapping.

The sounds were incredibly annoying, and there is no way to stop yourself from hearing other puggers' minipets sounds against your will. Therefore it's better for the sounds to remain gone everywhere.

Maybe add options to enable/disable sounds of your own/others mini pets.

/unsigned. Nothing is more annoying then going through a long ass mission and some guy wont put away his kuunavang

Hell no!! Keep the damned sounds off those stupid things.

May I suggest, with all courtesy:
How about I come down and remove some features from your car that you didn't realize you had when you bought it. Or how about I come down and remove some electrical outlets from your house that you didn't count when you purchased your home?
Piss poor excuse.
If I buy something, and have some of it's features removed at the whim and fancy of the builders (or programmers), you can bet I'm gonna be upset. So would you.
If you can't see that point of view, time to get a new job.

Now im pro allowing yourself to listen to the noise but I really dont think we need useless noises coming from useless little pets.

Make their sounds like the sounds of walking/footsteps -- Only heard by the user.
I'm all for discussion and I think one of the great things about the GuildWars user-community is that it is serious and dedicated to workable solutions for the game, and hoping the developers heed some of them.
I'm along the same vein of the 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' camp... My vote would have been for #2... I didn't see the need for mini's in the towns... the less clutter the better (and come on, races?? :P), but that's just my opinion, and we're all entitled to them...
Draikin
/not signed, but I agree that there should simply be an option to enable/disable the sound, that would be a much better solution.

Discussion of Guru staff or their actions is not what this thread is for. If you have a problem with what a certain staff member has said, send them a PM, but do not begin hijacking a thread to bash them. Posts of said nature have been deleted.

The sounds are irritating beyond beleif especially if you have more than one in your group. Like screaming kids that aren't yours. IF Anet wants to GIFT us something on the sound return make it optional for only the owner to hear!!!!

I want an annoying, flapping Kuunavang!
Mini-Varesh is all well and good... but its no Kuunavang!
[Its not as if I PuG much anyway. I'm an AI explorer... and my heroes don't give a toss about strange noises, so nor do I.]

Heres my take.
If you are annoyed by the sound of a mini-pet and the person in the mission wont take you into consideration to put it away, WHY ARE YOU PLAYING THE MISSION WITH SAID PERSON?
It sounds to me like a problem between players, not mini-pets.
It's just like skipping cinemas. If you all agree to skip, and someone doesnt, thats annoying. But its not the cinema's fault is it?

/notsigned - mini pet sounds always have been annoying
Maybe make it optional, but I personally HATE the sounds they make.

/signed sorta - if minipet noises are optional. I don't like minipet sounds, but some people do. If we had a toggle to hear them or not, then everyone would be happy.
Unless you're a jerk and think that
a)everyone should suffer in silence 'cuz YOU don't like the sounds
b)everyone should have to put up with your flapping, roaring kuuny just 'cuz YOU like it.

I first noticed the Kuunavang in Ascalon City (Pre-Searing) by the sound it made yesterday. I probably wouldn't have even spotted it otherwise. Its a cute sound. ^_^ ... Helps draw attention and is better for showing off, which is basically all the mini-pets are about.

The mini pet sounds never really bothered me....kinda gave the outposts a much more lively feel. And outside outposts half the time i am fighting something that makes a much more louder sound than any other mini pet so their sounds in the party are nothing.
/signed for them to come back but in the the form of a toggle option - Mini Pet sound effects on/off

I liked the minipet sounds as they gave the little critters some personality, and they never bothered me at all. However, since a fair number of people were annoyned by them, I guess optional is the way to go.

Play the pet's sounds only to its owner, easy huh?

/signed for bringing back the sounds or making them optional. I'd prefer the option to turn their sound on/off in towns and outposts though.
