Apparently only 1 in 6 are good at it, though. (I.E. I win a lot and my guildies all hate the game =/)

Still, it's a game of thinking on your shell and reacting fast. (One knockdown can easily take you from 1st to last, and 5 can take you from last to 1st!)

Agreed, this racing mini-game is the best yet, and I can't wait to see how this feast thing turns out. Great job ANet!

Rollerbeetle racing really is great fun! I'm not very good at it though...

Remember to paint stripes on your beetle, it makes it go faster.

Firstly - Rollerbeetles are the best addition (ableit temp) in a long time. Huge amounts of fun.

Second, I want that pig.

I like this event better than Wintersday and Halloween personally.

Rollerbeetle Racing as a perm pvp event would be great!

The ingridents to make the fireworks are logical which I thought was cool, and the quests are short and sweet with decent rewards. This doesn't feel slapped together for Cantha like I'd feared, I love it

Unfortunately, you will all hate me for this, but I cannot say thankyou. The first 4 or so were cool but they are simply putting too much into the events and not enough in the game.

I agree. Rollerbeetle racing is quite possibly the best addition to date (imo). Even though I rubberband like crazy throughout the whole thing, I still find it incredibly entertaining.

My pig is cute, too!

Yes, make it a permanent addition and buff the Gamer Points, then MAYBE I'll consider playing the "Who's got the fastest internet/computer race"...

Other than that, the event seems nice. But the race is simlpy not that good for most players.

<3 my hippie rollerbeetle and my miniature pig . They seem a bit small though :S
But I would like a buff to Gamer points as well. I've also experienced lag-spikes during the races, which has rarely happened before. Kinda ruins the experience since I could've won twice so far

I love the races. I, too, would like more gamer points though. The races are real fun, and ANet put much effort into every last detail - even the npcs ("The Gooch" cracks me up) are worth a look.

I never said it was boring. The game is not boring. What I don't like is that an entire campaign's worth of material has been put into reindeer and beetle racing, especially since they are around for no more than a weekend to two weeks.

The fact that this is based around the Chinese New Year makes me think that they are just searching for event ideas. Next we will be celebrating Sir Thomas More's birthday.

How are the 4( or is it 5) holidays even close to a campaigns worth of material?

Chinese New Year isn't exactly a far stretch from the whole Cantha/Asia thing is it?

There are maybe a total of 20 Holiday related quests and a handful of maps and skills, and you compare it to hundreds of skills, 2 professions, hundreds of quests and the missions/storyline compare to what they give us.

Can't it just be something nice they do for us every few months?

I am liking this event too. It could have just been me being a Grinch during Christmas but I absolutely hated Wintersday, and I wasn't fond of Halloween either. I am really having fun with this one though.

What the hell do you have against the Chinese? The Chinese New Year celebration is far older than pretty much all of the American holidays--just because it's not celebrated here doesn't make it any less important.

Lol I have nothing against the Chinese, I just don't see how we need to search the globe for holiday ideas. To stay on topic, all I'm saying is that they are putting in way more material than needed into town decorations, mini games, extra arenas, additional armor, weapons, NPC models, quests, etc. that will be around for a few days. Once, maybe twice a year is fine. Four is not fine.

Over-worked events so far:

Halloween '05
Christmas '05
Dragon Festival
Halloween '06
Christmas '06
Canthan New Year

I seem to be alone on this. I guess the majority of the guild wars community prefers pumpkin heads and beetle racing to auction houses and storage upgrades.

To be completely honest, im not liking the event. Extreme lag, long loads, no rollerbeetle races because of Err7 every single time, 120 tix and no pig, overpriced pigs, and this retarded glitch thing with the Guild menu. (Just happened since the event started) Good things: 5 quests, cool decorations, and cool items. If you didnt count it, 6 > 3. Maybe today was a bad day for me, but i did not like the event that much.

Thanks very much Anet!

I really like the Rollerbeetle Races! I never participated in the battle/race/game of the special events and they never did interest me enough to try more than once. But this Rollerbeetle race is so funny.
Even if I don't win: I really don't care, I like it! Beside is also so colorfull.

I enjoyed this event overall. All the quests made me smile, especially the guy who gets robbed and the guy who DIES trying to change his luck. xD

Haven't tried Rollerbeetle yet since I was too busy getting (and acquired) a Pig and enjoying my Fireworks. Cant wait for the Pig Spirit to grace me with presents i plan to charge 1k for.

I love the sparklers, just too cool. Also, the mini-pig is a very pleasant surprise. The racing game is a hoot, and not too PvP-weighted, nor does it require a lot of skill, so everyone can really enjoy it.

This is definately an awesome event. Thanks a million, Anet, you've really outdone yourselves! I can't wait to see what else we have in store for the finale. I can't wait to get the ug... interesting-looking mask!

AWESOME event.... Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loving the decorations, the special items (tiny pigs FTW), the fun quests, and the Rollerbeetle Racing ROCKS.... love the beetle /dance emote!

Please ignore the one or two people who take life and themselves far too seriously and can't even find it in themselves to appreciate a bit of FUN in their GAME.... (have pity on such people)

U GO ANET!!!! /cheer

Keep up the amazing effort in giving us such a fantastic in-game events.

Those ideas have been brought up many many times and Anet has denied the Auction house many times in favor of "trade improvements".

Storage upgrades are kinda silly, imo. Buying mule slots and secondary accounts fuels Anet, why would they cripple that?

Personally I do much prefer a community event to a few mods to help those that feel GW is purely about trading until you can wave you winky around in FoW armour.

If you look in the towns now they are packed with people having fun with the new games and chatting away. Plus there is the bonus of new trade items for those that want that.

While I can see the benifits of an auction house (particularly for the casuals that don't enjoy street selling) I bought this game to enjoy the community aspect and often im turned off by traders that totally forget that.
