*sigh* Quoting latin and still your logic is horrible. First of all, no not everyone spams. I sure don't.

Second just because a lot of people do something doesnt make it okay.

Third, spamming is disruptive and Gaile was trying to talk to the community. The spammers are keeping others from interacting with Gaile and vice versa. Gaile always asks people to stop spamming and this time was no different. I was there and I saw it. People continued to spam so they got banned so the rest of us can listen in on the conversations. Like I said before, if you're willfully stupid to ignore the warnings then yes you should get banned.

Oh and if you don't like how the rules are enforced, you're free not to log into the game.

I really doubt Gaile has any power to ban someone. She would have had to get the devs to do it. Gaile doesn't have anything to do with the inner workings of the game. Like has been said, she is just the PR person.

The amount of crap that Anet and Gaile get is unbelievable. They offer a service that is basically free of charge (sure, you have to buy the game, but the updates following are free. And please nobody start saying that the game isn't free, because that is not the point of this topic), and all they get is crap for the tiny mistakes they make. "Wah, my sunspear title can't be maxed! I don't care if you're trying to do something interesting with the game, I just want a maxed title!" or "Wah, the game isn't interesting enough! I have to do the same thing over and over, but I still play the game anyway!" It is no surprise that they banned people for mass spamming, which is just downright childish.

Also, how do you know a warning wasn't made. It probably was drowned out by all the spam so nobody noticed.

One final word. A lot of people are saying that it is all in good fun, and that they would have joined in if they were there. This downright scares me. Not only does it just confirm the sheep mentality that society has (like this needs confirming), but it also reminds me of all the crap that has happened throughout history because a group of people decided to follow someone else. I'm not going to name any of them, because I am really not wanting to directly compare anyone to these groups. It's just a similarity I see is all.

So, in future, when you see someone doing something stupid, and then some people follow in their stead, don't join in. Think about what you're doing. It'll separate you from the rest of the brainless mob that follows someone on a whim. It sounds harsh, but it's an important life lesson to be learned.

If they have not dealt with spam, nearly two years into the life of GW, then I presume they dont really care. And in the end, why should they? Gaile banned him because she got annoied, and that is horribly wrong.

If she had have spammed her answer back, maybe they would have shut up. Regardless imo it's an abuse of power. She could have left, instead of forcing others to leave.

Did she at any time ask people to stop? If she did, and they didn't, they were harassing her, and harassing people is a bannable offense. If that's how it went down they all deserve every minute ban they got, easy as pie. It's dreadfully stupid to commit bannable offenses around someone who has a finger in the pie when it comes to banning people. I guess those idiots will be eating humble pie now.

Maybe there are many people too young to realize it, but there is something about "do you like pie" that is quite inappropriate. If you are over 18, google for "cream pie" with parental controls off and see for yourself what comes up top.

People got banned. They did something that wasn't liked. You play someone's games, you go by their rules, however they define them.
