Your worst self-ownage???

Finally after 8 months of playing the game when it first came out I was able to get FoW armor for my female monk. Dyed it black and everything. Was then salvaging stuff when I lagged, I got pissed off and started clicking rappidly, when the lag ended I had salvaged the chest peice of the FoW armor I had just bought and got 10 bolts of tanned hide squares out of the deal. I was so Pissed that I sold my account to a friend of mine.
At that time I had never heard of expansion since GW was the first MMORPG I had ever played. Needless to say I bought factions, then prophecies, and now nightfall. Finally got my monk FoW armor again, but some how, it just isn't the same.

Have you people never heard of a "blocker"(useless quest item you keep in your inventory, that can't be sold)? You put all your l33t items behind it so you don't accidently merchant it.
Back on topic:
After changing built from axe to sword, went into FOW with group and realize I was only doing 3 damage. Saw that I still had 16 in axe mastery. But I keap my mouth shut and maded it to forgemaster. No one was the wiser...
The first 2 months of playing, I didn't realize there was a skill trainer. Sold all my runes, dye's, rare material to merchant. Must have been a glich, cause I never saw that sell button on those traders... But I'm wiser these days, got to remember to read the manuals when I buy games.

Accidently sold a black dye to the merchant.
It's peanuts compared to Captain Arne Is PRO's 600k loss, but it's still my worst self-ownage.
Oh, and one time I ruined Canctum Cay mission for my party by getting too close to the Vizier while the rest of the party was leading the ghost to his graveyard. /puts head down in shame

Not A Fifty Five
Umm.. I've done a lot.. bringing attributes for the wrong build, bringing a gvg build to RA on accident (Still won twice cause I was LoD monk but needless to say half the party left when I told them the oops on the first round)...
But I gotta say what tops it off is my early days in buying and selling. After farming FoW and then trying buying and selling I discovered just how much more money you make. So I tried it out with some success, working my way up to 50k which was a lot for me then. I knew pretty much everything right off the bat, low req and perfect mods selling for a lot, except two things:Skin and double modded items. So I end up buying this req 8, -2/no mod ornate shield for 45k, pretty much all my money. I ended up selling it a few months later for 5k

ive never really had any problems with farming, i just loose intrest quick, even if im making a few k per run. Well, because of that, ive never really had much "extra" money for use on things i wasnt particarly saving for. I sold a near perfect gemstone axe 2 days ago, 80k. finished out my ranger's ancient armor, bought a guild hall NPC, aaaaaand decided to remake my warrior. OOPSIE! all of my leftover money and a few ectos were on my warrior when i deleted him. Didnt realize it until this morning when i opened up storage and couldnt find the cash for a new armor set XD
Yeah, so about 63k got deleted, which isnt really a lot, but like i said... i usually dont ever have more then 5-10k on me

frenzy and a ranger don't mix.
It's was my second character and first with warrior skills so I thought "Wow fire twice as fast, those catacomb skeletons won't stand a cance!" BY my third death I decided that frenzy doesn't work well.

Doing Urgoz for the very first time with a group that had fought for hours to get as far as the first warden room. They ask for a volunteer to stay out. I agree. They all go in and I confidently step into the bridge thinking that didn't count as it wasn't technically inside the room......
Since then I always stay out, even when someone else offers to do it. Once you've been personally responsible for group ownage you develop major paranoia.

Hmm, worst thing I've ever done is bring my running build on a thunderhead keep mission. Was using an axe, which as you know sometimes deals low damage. Was curious as to why it was so low all the time, but chalked it up to increased enemy armor or something. Then when hitting a squishy, I found I was still doing crap damage! I then realized I had the wrong attributes set. Luckily, we got through the mission without mishap. Then the group monk said I was a good tank, didn't have to heal me a lot. I was so embarassed that I couldn't say a word.
Another time I've messed up is when I was taking my ranger to cap punishing shot I think. One of the mob groups dropped two gold items, a hammer and a rune. I could've sworn I clicked on them both, but when I zoned and checked my inventory, I found I hadn't picked up the rune! Now, I triple check everytime I pick up a rare item.
Hmm, once I died five times in a row when farming the wardens with my rit. I can't say I was inexperienced, as I had been farming for a while, and had easily done the entire run before. But for some reason I kept messing up and getting knocked down before i could cast vwk. I didn't kill any of the monsters once! And to add insult to injury, for some reason I got the farming string note, even though I had just started...
Never had a trouble with accidentally losing an item in my inventory. I keep mine well organized and sellable items always come first, and rare items I move to the second bag, before going into storage. I have however dyed my pre-searing armor black before... and customized a few green items that I now find useless on that char.

We were splitting against ritspike and I was told to run to the other split. The shortest road was by passing right by the flag stand (Druids) where all of the rits were. I tried to do it.
Another time, I was pulling for a Tombs (PvE) group. I grabbed a nice, big, fat, juicy aggro and had it balled up nice and tight. But I didn't realize the Minion Master was still a long ways back, afk.
I also merchanted a Kanaxai's Edge, but I usually don't do things like that because I use minipets to stop my clicking.
One more: I was playing through Hells Precipice because I wanted to Fraps a cinematic. When the cinematic came up, I pressed the "Skip" button by reflex, and had to do the mission all over again.

Way back in the day, before the Fragility/Virulence nerf, I was the prot monk in one of our GvG battles. (This was when 2 heals and one prot was common in GvG.) We came up against a team that was spreading conditions everywhere. I hit Martyr....and instantly died. Fragility triggered for each condition that I pulled off each party member. Wheeee!!! I learned to read what those pink boxes in the corner were about that day.

I don't post much here... or at all... But I have to add mine.
I was in mineral springs on my monk going to cap SoJ. Everyone knows the Avicara use scourge healing right? Yeah, well, I was at mid-hp and was being a bit lazy. I didn't see that everyone in my party had a hex on them (scourge healing) and hit heal party. -200 hp, dead. Luckily no one else realized why I died.

The Hand Of Death
Using blood of the master while MMing and killing myself. I was MMing and there was a second hero MM in the party. I didn't know blood of the master healed all minions, even those not controlled by me. I was at 200 health expecting a -100 or so sac when I got a sac somewhere around 250. Heh then my minions killed the second MM and then all those minions killed everyone else in the party and we failed the mission. Go figure .

my worse self pwn was when i first farmed sorrows, i got borhans holy rod,, at the time 10k was a lot of money. so i came backed and asked for a price check, first one said it was 25k but said hed buy for 27k, i should have seen it so i said yes . only then to b told by wiki it was at 100k+20 ecto :P ah well

Customizing every bow I've ever used on my ranger. GG me, I could've made a substantial bit of money, especially since I use like 3-4 out of the 20 or so <_<

Well...
One time, I was rather impatient in a factions mission (Tahnnakai Temple, I think), as I wanted to get Master-rank. The rest of my team was was constantly shouting at me for constantly rushing ahead (as a necromancer). After a few deaths, I decided to appologise, but appearently I didn't hit enter hard enough, and accidentally charged into a huge group of afflicted and brought up a number of menus. I can't type while looking at the screen, so by the time i noticed and closed all the menus, I was dead. My group charged in to save me, and we all died. as soon as we got back to the town, I left rather then face them. That's the worst I remember doing.

On my first assassin I ID'ed a Zealous dagger tang, used for a while, and after foolishly deciding it was worthless, upgraded the daggers with a different tang.

There went my profit. I've also "wasted" money by spending 20-50k on weapons that become salvage fodder one month later, when shinier things come rolling in.

Well, i have learned to double check that team chat is turned on at times, in the heat with thorn wolves, i did accidently turn teamchat off, and was tired, so didn't pay too much attention to what was going on.
Having chat turned off, also being the person furthest behind..... well i didn't see them screaming "STOP!!!!!!" and viola I enter the room together with everyone else.... and i see red dots appear...ALOT of them ... "oooops......."

I've just deleted a few characters with the usual about 90k on them that was meant to go in storage but never got around to it.

Before additional character slots were public knowledge, I wanted a mesmer and a a warrior so I bought a second account. I made a male mesmer and bought him FoW armour then dyed it black.
A couple of months later character slots were available and I had to have one of each class on my main account so I salvaged the mesmer's FoW and made a female instead on my main. I got 10 Obsidian Shards from the leggings, a rune and a tonne of Cloth from the remainder.
I don't regret it though. As much as I liked my male mesmer, I had to have all characters on the same account. It was more important.

Tombs of the Primeval Kings. We were doing badly and the monks ran out of energy. So I hit the first monk with BiP. Then the second. Then the ele. Then the mesmer.

Just bought nice new 15K armour on my warrior after having same armour for ages. Salvaging off runes, somehow clicked my new trousers instead of old.

got a 15^50 fellblade req. 8 or 9, i don't know it anymore, from the father of my friend for free who had actually no idea that this was worth quite much,...neither had i!
i mean, i knew that this was more worth than all my other stuff...
so i was in LA advertising it, i got like 5 pm's everytime i sent the message, i got 100k+5e offered, i was so shocked and happy, so i pressed accept
there was 1 guy who was annoying me the whole time about the fellblade, i told him that i had already sold it, then he said that he would have offered 5times as much
he ended up buying the fellblade from my buyer for about 100+30 or 40 ectos, i don't know it exactly

I wondered why I was selling so much! ....My first foray into trading, I would put up the items, then If I was asking 5k, I would add that to the gold amount "offered"...so, you'd get the items and you would get your money right back....). Such a deal! I call it the Guild Wars Reward Program
