There are no REAL secrets in computer science. Something others already done can always be "copied" by another maker within 3 months. The only thing is codes have copyrights. So you can't copy line by line.
There's nothing in GW engine that's truely revolutionary other than the streaming update. So it's ok to share.

@miragemaster
its generic company info except his name. the email address, phone number, and address are all available on the NCsoft north america website.
@flamegrilledcheese
whats interesting is that the other two domains, .com & .net were both registered using the privacy post service
http://privacypost.com/
on the same date.
@bryant again
that is a WHOIS query, which allows you to see who owns what domain names. google it for more information.
@The Great Al
well, i am not saying the whole article is true, but some truth may exist in it as the domain(s) for the name "eye of the north" are owned my NCsoft, and were only recently registered.
and the fact that for the .com and .net they used that privacypost service, because they do want the hush hush untill the pc gamer article.
@everyone
because NCsoft own the eyeofthenorth.org, it is safe to assume they also own the counterparts .com and .net.
this corroborates one thing in the inquirer article, and that is the name of the chapter.
meaning, that this whole Inquirer article went from being total unconfirmed BS, to something that has some truth in it.

We can't go a year and a quarter without more GW goodness! Then again, I was thinking "these guys are crazy if they plan to release 20 chapters".

I personally don't believe this at all.
Why would there be a GW:2? We already have a GW:2 = Factions...
If what the article is talking about happens, it goes against all that Anet has been saying about GW and I for one won't play anymore.

Sounds pretty plausable to me, and I can't really see someone going to this much effort on a fake, screenshots and all, when we're already expecting information next month, if not during GDC.

Hmmm....I dunno if I should be happy or sad...
First problem: "...18 new multi-level dungeons, 40 new armour sets, 10 new Heroes and massive 150 new skills, out of which 50 belong only to PvE (Player versus Enviroment)."
One thing strike me as odd: Anet never uses the term "Dungeon" for anything in GW. The "Dungeon" note is actually one of the things that set me off big time (proverbial sirens going off), it sounded almost like they were talking about WoW instead of Guild Wars! They even said "new" like there were multi-level dungeons in Guild Wars already. I do not believe they meant dungeons, more like missions, since they only dungeons in-game right now is the canthan elite missions, SF, and DoA? But are Elite Missions REALLY dungeons?
PvE only Skills, is it more skills like the celestial skills, or the lightbringer skills?
40 armor sets, so 5 sets for each profession. New insignias maybe?
I like the new skills, if true. Hopefully it will not be more duplicates.
And Horray!!! for the 10 heros.
But I cannot bring myself to imagine GW 2. It just sounds soo much like WoW.
-Playable Races, does that mean the humans and the charr are now friends? Then whoz ass can we kick?
-"...but the main drool factor will be zone-wide events (read, open war in DaoC and Alterac Valley style)...", Alliance/Horde Wars anyone?
Some Notes:
-A quick scan of the United States Patent and Trademark Office shows that there's nothing new registered.
-I don't know why, but I find this whole "Eye of the North" stuff sounding inherently fishy, especially that the article is trying to give actual specs on things that will be added, even though I haven't heard anything at all from ANet.
-Anet is not going to comment on this until PC Gamer is out.
-Charr, and Mursaat...Didn't we all know this already?
-Whats with the name of the new races?

Wow. The amount of panicking about having to start over with new characters when NOTHING has been confirmed and NOTHING in the article has stated that you really do have to start over is mind blowing.
Panicking over wild speculation is fun to watch.

Maybe that's why we'll be able to play new races, Tyria having reached a level of utopian coexistence. If any of this is to be believed anyway...

yeah_hi
I'm on the fence about the authenticity of the article.
What bothers me is that it is supposedly 'hundreds of years in the future'; I really hope this does not bring things like guns/other technology into the game. The high fantasy of GW is one of the things that keeps me playing.
I'm amazed and disturbed that there has been no official response on this, especially as the community is going nuts (and understandably so). The only conclusion I can draw is that elements of the article are correct, and whatever agreement they have with PCGamer is preventing an official response.
If it was outright false, why not put some minds at rest? Or why not make Inquirer remove the article? Either way, I'm sure the marketing/community relations folk are clever enough at spin to throw us some kind of bone, without breaking any (theoretical) agreement.

Utopia can be GW2 as stated above.
Also, the article states that NCSoft Announced, meaning this could, well, be another project, and they just linked it to GW.
One last thing, if Eye of the North is the fourth campaign, why did they register it on Feb, 28, 07? They said they were working on it since E3. WTF

...yes, "hundreds of years in the future" translates to Guns and Robots. ArenaNet is trying to appeal to the younger demographics.
Lord-UWR
Guyz, none of this is even confirmed.
The Ernada
Hundreds of years in the future doesnt automatically mean guns and technology. GW civilization progress could be extremely slow and even turned backward by a major catastrophe. Hell, Abaddon almost ended the entire world...

consider the following
we have a so called reporter who is mostly wrong according to someone who checked his track record.
coming from a site that according to its record is not really interested with actual facts
coming from a completely unknown and unprovable source of information
from someone who has more detailed and complete information further out than anybody could expect
AND considering the major financial impact this would have is not mentioned in the financial report.
AND...........it has something for everybody that Anet has said a flat NO to already
raise the level cap?....you got ......... it must be true
pve only skills?......you got it............it must be true
playable races?............you got it...........it must be true
multi level dungeons?...........you got it...............it must be true
WISH FULFILLMENT IN SPADES

unproven site
unknown source
IT HAS TO BE TRUE BECAUSE ITS WHAT I WANT

Just a quick word to let you know that we haven't made any official announcements about Guild Wars in, oh, a couple of months. Sure, there's a little *ahem* info circulating this week. But you guys know the drill: Until we say it, it's not official. I can tell you that some of what you've read is right, some of it is wrong, and quite a bit of it is misleading. Unfortunately, we can't offer a fact check quite yet.
The good news is that the top game publications in Europe and the U.S. are preparing feature articles with major Guild Wars news -- I wasn't joking when I said a few days ago that I think it'll knock your socks off. In the U.S., PC Gamer will begin delivery of the May issue to subscribers on March 15, and it will be on newsstands on April 3. European magazines, including Joystick in France, PC Zone in the U.K., PC GamePlay in Benelux, Games Machine in Italy, and PC Gamer in Germany, will reach subscribers and newsstands before the end of March.
Knowing you guys, no matter where you're located, you'll be sharing the info from your regional magazines, and that's great. I want to make sure that I let you know, this isn't some small feature -- I would boldly say that any Guild Wars player would want to buy one of these magazines, subscriber or not! In part this is because they'll offer great articles with a lot of cool info. In part it's because the magazines will give you the chance to adopt your very own exclusive new miniature. Check our website for more info tomorrow!

I personally aren't looking forward for Gw2 if this rumor is true- but time will tell.
